Chapter 61 - April Fool's Misunderstanding (?)
Even though it was a weekday evening, there were many people in Yoon Gae’s broadcast. His average viewership was about 300-400, a fairly large scale that could be considered medium to large-sized, but it still fell short of Baraa’s audience.

People, unable to say anything and only mouthing words with quivering lips, left Baraa’s broadcast where she was silently crying and flocked to Yoon Gae’s broadcast—the culprit behind all this. No one thought it was Chocoa’s doing. They were all aware it was April 1st, and so was Baraa.
“…Yes…?”
She knew what today was. April 1st. April Fool’s Day. A day when it’s okay to tell lies. The things Chocoa said were definitely lies. They had to be. Yoon Gae was there too. It was all a joke in the spirit of April Fool’s, meant to trick her. But what if…
What if what she said was real?
What would she do then?
After work, she started a broadcast at home. No notification came. She broadcasted. No notification came. She broadcasted. No notification came. Broadcasted. No notification came. Broadcasted. No notification came. Broadcasted. No notification came. Broadcasted. No notification came. Shee broadcasted. No notification came.
Shee didn’t broadcast. No notification came.
She couldn’t hear Chocoa’s voice. She couldn’t see Chocoa’s face. She had no reason to contact her.
Chocoa—Choi Ga-young—was gone.
Tears started to fall. She had only imagined it, and it was probably just a lie, yet tears continued to flow down her cheeks, following the trail from her eyes to her jaw.
“Ah…”
She tried to wipe away the tears that wouldn’t stop, but the transparent drops continued to stain the back of her hand and pajamas.
“…Just a moment…”
She threw off her headset and went to the bathroom.

“Uh… Well… Um…”
Viewers who had doubled in number were all demanding an explanation. The chat was flooding, and his managers and editors were calling him repeatedly. On the screen, he was just sitting there, looking dumbfounded.
To defend himself, he hadn’t anticipated things going this way. He thought Baraa would just get angry and ask him to stop the joke or ask the reason, but he never imagined she would break down crying right there.
“…Just a moment.”
A few seconds after Baraa left her seat, Chocoa also went offline. Yoon Gae was just wondering if he had a black suit in his closet.

Lee Su-yeon POV
“Ah… it finally stopped…”
After several minutes, the tears that had been flowing non-stop finally stopped. Her eyes were slightly swollen and red.
“Haa…”
Now that the tears had stopped, she felt utterly embarrassed about crying in front of Chocoa and all the people watching her broadcast. She pulled her hood over her head deeply in shame.

“…”
When she checked her phone, ‘Chocoa’ was calling her.
“Hello…? Is this really Chocoa…?”
She had exchanged Discord messages with her but had never asked for her phone number. With a trembling voice, she asked.
“…Yes, it’s me.”
The voice on the other end of the phone was unmistakably Chocoa’s.
“…! Wh-Why… Why do you have… Chocoa, how do you… have my phone number…?”
“I’m sorry, did you not want me to?”
“No!! It’s not that… I just don’t remember…”
“You clung to me and asked for it last time when you were drinking.”
“………”
Ah, right, it must have been the alcohol.
She was too embarrassed to watch any videos that had been posted online after the afterparty, so she had little memory of what happened that day. While she blamed the alcohol, Chocoa fell silent, then apologized as if she had been pondering something.
“I’m sorry. I never imagined it would turn out like this… I hadn’t planned on going through with it from the beginning… I’m really sorry…”
“So… it was really just a joke…?”
“Yes, I’m sorry…”
Even as she said it was okay, Chocoa continued apologizing and said she would do anything she wanted as an apology.
“…Really?”
After a few seconds of thought, Chocoa accepted her request with a lighthearted response. Hiding her grin that she couldn’t stop, she left the bathroom, staring intently at her phone as the call ended with Chocoa’s “See you later.”
“Hehe…”
“Are you okay, unnie?”
Turning her head toward the familiar voice, she saw Minyoung looking at her with a worried expression.
“…I’m fine. I’m great.”
Despite her sister’s puzzled look, she had a light smile on her face.
“Ah~ I told you, it’s really nothing? Haha… hehe…”
She vaguely explained she was laughing and sent her back home, then returned to the broadcast.
– ?? This guy’s laughing?
– ????
– What on earth happened that she was crying so sadly and then suddenly smiling?
– Who knows? Maybe she watched Geum Sahyang’s stream?
“Well… Anyway! Let’s get back to what we planned to do today.”
In her room was a large box.
The box contained the ultra-expensive computer she’d received as a prize from the tournament. After wrestling with it for a few dozen minutes, she barely managed to drag it to the side of her bed. There were a few reasons why she hadn’t set it up herself yet.
First, because Aro and Eunah unnie wanted to use it for NewTube, so they asked her to set it up for the broadcast. Second, she was terrible with electronics. Back in her hometown, the only machine she knew was a tractor, and even at her part-time jobs, she always told the managers to keep her away from the machines. She agreed with the advice to face what she didn’t know and learn, but she also thought it better to avoid machines at her jobs altogether than to risk breaking something and getting fired.
– Don’t tell me that’s it?
– That thing???
– The 500 one??/////////
“Yes… This is the famous 500…”
– Whoa…
“So… how do I set this up?”
– ……
“Hm… I guess I connect this cable to… this thing…”
On Baraa’s broadcast screen, the room looked empty. In the small room seen through the camera, there was only a bed with a pure white kitten, wearing a red collar with a bell, playing with the box. Occasionally, the camera showed Baraa’s white pajamas and hair peeking from under the bed. Due to the recent tearful incident, viewers were flocking to her broadcast, and the count quickly climbed toward 3,000. As she plugged and unplugged various cables into the back of the computer, the stream kept turning on and off, but the viewers quietly enjoyed this peaceful scene while offering advice on computer setup.
“Hm…”
Thud.
It sounded like Baraa had bumped her head on the desk while getting up, causing a slight jolt to the camera.
“…”
A moment later, Baraa, seemingly in pain, pulled her hood off and rubbed the top of her head. Saying she would try turning the computer off and on, the screen went dark.
– We’re abandoned again…
CoffeeIsBeer – Should I just come down and set it up?
– YesYesYesYesYesYesYesYesYesYesYesYes
– Please, I don’t want to be abandoned again… it’s so cold…

Eunah POV
“Ha… How ridiculous… How long is she taking to set up a computer?”
The computer, which had been pre-assembled for easy setup, was being tinkered with for over two hours. All she had to do was connect a few cables, so why did she keep risking breaking it?
“Sigh…”
Sighing, she slipped on her slippers, the ones with three white stripes, and headed out.
Thud thud thud—
– Yes?
Upon knocking on the door, she heard a high-pitched woman’s voice that sounded pleasant just to hear.
“It’s me. Open up.”
After a moment, Su-yeon opened the door, still rubbing her head. It seemed she’d hit it pretty hard because she was still doing this, so she gently stroked her head before walking into the house.
“I’ll do it. Go make some coffee.”
“…Alright~”
As Su-yeon walked to the kitchen to make coffee, she entered the room. The most eye-catching thing wasn’t the messy computer cables but the small kitten inside the box, warily watching her.
“Sigh…”
Sighing, she sat down on the warm floor and saw a tangled mess of cords.
“Wow…”
As she admired the tangled wires, she started organizing them.
“Oh, thanks.”
As she was finishing up the cable management, Su-yeon brought her a mug of coffee.
Sip—
For some reason, Su-yeon’s coffee always had a special touch that she couldn’t find in cafes or instant coffee. Wishing Su-yeon would stay in this house for a long time, she turned on the computer.
“It’ll take a bit since it’s the first time booting up.”
“Whoa…”
Su-yeon uttered a small exclamation and sat on the bed, hugging the kitten, Strawberry. Just a moment ago, Strawberry had been hissing and fussing, but now, lying quietly in her owner’s arms, she seemed at peace. Even though it annoyed her, she decided just to glare.
“Hey, so what did you do?”
“Huh?”
“Earlier, you left crying. What did you do?”
Su-yeon looked as though she was debating whether or not to tell her while petting Strawberry. But it didn’t take long.
“…I asked for a date…”
The bell on Strawberry’s collar jingled softly, filling the room.
“…….”
Something interesting seemed to be brewing.
