The arrogant demeanor of the young man in sunglasses was beginning to annoy Tian Mi.

She whispered to Li Ling’er beside her, “That guy is so full of himself, it’s really getting on my nerves. I really want to give him a good beating.”

Li Ling’er, though similarly annoyed by the sunglasses guy’s arrogance, had a milder temperament and wasn’t as quick to resort to violence. She advised, “Calm down a bit. Don’t cause trouble for Qing Mu. Let’s see how he handles it.”

Qing Mu couldn’t fathom why the guy in sunglasses was acting so arrogantly. However, he noticed that the guy seemed only a few years older than himself, so he assumed it might just be youthful exuberance.

Having encountered various Kamen Riders with all sorts of attitudes, Qing Mu had developed some resistance to such behavior and wasn’t easily provoked.

He maintained his composure and said, “Since Director Lin has already informed you about the situation here, there’s no need for me to say much. If you need any assistance, you can let me know. If not, my friends and I will leave and go have a meal. Food is a top priority, after all.”

With an arrogant smile, the guy in sunglasses turned to Qing Mu, removed his sunglasses, and fixed his gaze on Qing Mu’s eyes as if trying to discern something. He asked, “Director Lin told me that you single-handedly defeated over thirty Worms, including six evolved adult Worms. Is that true?”

“It’s true. one katydid Worm, five Mantis Worms, and there are some remains left behind by the Mantis Worms.” Qing Mu pointed to two broken sickles embedded in the wall nearby. These were the weapons he had used to kill two of the Mantis Worms earlier.

“Four-nine-three,” he continued, “is the most intact part of those two Mantis Worms, considering the rest of them were blasted to pieces.”

The guy in sunglasses hadn’t noticed the broken sickles earlier, but now, upon seeing them, he displayed a disdainful expression.

“Heh, you act quite convincingly. You’ve gone to great lengths to seek fame, haven’t you?”

“What do you mean?” Qing Mu looked at him puzzled.

The guy in sunglasses, thinking he had figured out the truth, began to speak with a mocking and sarcastic tone.

“Do you know how powerful Worms are? Especially adult Worms, which can enter an Acceleration state. Every time we eliminate adult Worms at Yancheng Defense Base, it comes with significant casualties. Are you trying to tell me that you, single-handedly, defeated six adult Worms and dozens of larvae? Do you honestly expect me to believe something so far-fetched? I suspect you used some weaker monsters to stage this scene, then exaggerated your accomplishments to curry favor with Director Lin. Am I right?”

“Your little scheme might work on others, but trying to deceive me is just laughable. You’ve got quite an imagination, haven’t you?”

Listening to the guy’s conjecture, Qing Mu was left utterly speechless. He hadn’t anticipated that this sunglasses-wearing individual would have such a peculiar and twisted way of thinking.

This bizarre line of reasoning was almost on par with the deductions of Kogoro Mouri.

Seeing that Qing Mu didn’t immediately refute but instead showed a surprised expression, the sunglasses guy felt even more confident, thinking he had figured out the truth.

He couldn’t help but sneer, “Hmph, I’ve seen through your little scheme, so you don’t even have the courage to argue back, huh? You’ve overplayed your hand, my friend. You’re blowing your own trumpet so loudly that it’s bound to burst. If you toned it down a bit, you might have had a chance to convince someone.”

Qing Mu was utterly shocked by the guy’s bizarre thinking and couldn’t help but facepalm.

Tian Mi, unable to stand it anymore, confronted the sunglasses guy angrily, “What did you say? Who are you to doubt Qing Mu’s abilities? With Qing Mu’s strength, not to mention a few dozen Worms, even if a few hundred more came, it would still be a piece of cake for him. You have no idea just how powerful Qing Mu truly is. You’re just a fool sitting in a well, looking at the sky!”

For Qing Mu, the recent group of Worms posed no threat whatsoever. After defeating them, he wasn’t even out of breath. This made Tian Mi even more convinced that Qing Mu had barely used half of his true power. She admired his combat abilities immensely and wouldn’t allow anyone to slander or question his abilities.

Having been confronted by Tian Mi, the sunglasses guy didn’t get angry but instead laughed heartily, “Hahaha! Are you getting upset because I guessed the truth? Indeed, you’re just a bunch of clowns trying to win over the crowd! Hmph, I won’t allow any fakes or frauds to exist in our Yancheng Defense Base! Qing Mu, if you don’t tell the truth right now, I’ll immediately request from my superiors to terminate all cooperation with you and kick you out of Yancheng Defense Base.”

This was too much even for Qing Mu, who was growing tired of the sunglasses guy’s self-assured attitude. He decided to end the discussion and pulled out his phone to call Lin Qianqian.

“Hello, Qing Mu, what’s going on?”

“You guys sent over a weirdo. He’s even threatening to kick me out of Yancheng Defense Base. Are you serious about this? If you are, I’ll immediately cut all ties and stop cooperating with you.”

“What? Kick you out of Yancheng Defense Base? Damn it! Who dares to say such a thing? This is outrageous! Do you know the name of the person in charge on-site?”

Qing Mu wasn’t in a hurry, but Lin Qianqian was getting upset. They had worked hard to establish preliminary cooperation with Qing Mu and leverage his abilities. Now, someone dared to threaten to expel this powerful ally. Whoever said such a thing must be incredibly frustrated.

On the other end of the call, Lin Qianqian sounded furious, like an enraged mother tiger.

Qing Mu activated the speakerphone function on his phone so that everyone could hear Lin Qianqian’s voice. He then said, “You can talk to him yourself; I don’t think I can communicate with him.”

“Who are you calling?” Bai Tian still hadn’t realized the impending storm.

Lin Qianqian roared, “Bai Tian! You idiot! Are you trying to make me lose my mind? What do you want to do? Do you know how much effort we put into getting Qing Mu to agree to cooperate with us? And now you dare to say you want to kick him out of Yancheng Defense Base? Do you believe that I’ll call my dad right now and have him kick you out of Yancheng Defense Base? Even your dad won’t be able to save you! Listen carefully! Be polite to Qing Mu, and if you ever dare to say anything about kicking Qing Mu out of Yancheng Defense Base or make him unhappy in any way, you’ll be in big trouble! I promise to beat you to death without mercy!”

Even Qing Mu was taken aback. He had never seen Lin Qianqian this angry before. He had no doubt that if Lin Qianqian were present, she would probably have thrown a punch at White Day.

He had initially thought that with Lin Qianqian, Miss Lin, stepping in, she could control this guy named White Day. However, to his surprise, White Day didn’t give Lin Qianqian any face, even when she was furious.

For someone as incorrigible as Bai Tian, taking drastic measures was necessary.

The original Mach Driver was from Kamen Rider Drive and was considered an upgraded version of the Drive Driver. It was known for having performance surpassing that of the Drive Driver. Because Kamen Rider Drive primarily fought against Roidmudes, which were mechanical mutants with the ability to accelerate, the Mach Driver also had the capability to activate the Super Acceleration mode. When activated, it would slow down the movement of all living beings in the vicinity to an almost imperceptible speed. It was like applying a 99% debuff on speed, and this debuff affected everyone indiscriminately, friend or foe.

One noteworthy aspect of the Super Acceleration was that it only affected the physical bodies of individuals; their consciousness remained unaffected. This caused great discomfort to those under its effect, as their consciousness would be normal while their bodies lagged behind.

Qing Mu had been wanting to obtain Kamen Rider Kabuto or Kamen Rider Drive cards because having these two series of Rider cards would mean he wouldn’t have to worry about enemies with acceleration abilities. He had expected to get the cards for the Kamen Rider KickHopper and Kamen Rider PunchHopper first. However, Bai Tian, who used the Mach Driver, had inserted himself into the lineup ahead of Qing Mu’s turn.

Qing Mu couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed by Bai Tian’s confidence.

While Qing Mu didn’t necessarily need to use Muteki Gamer’s power to defeat Bai Tian, he wanted to showcase his ultimate power. Besides, he needed to take the Mach Driver from Bai Tian, and he believed that a little demonstration of force would help.

Bai Tian, confident as ever, summoned his Signal Bike Mach and inserted it into the Mach Driver to transform.

Qing Mu was likely more familiar with Kamen Rider Mach’s abilities than Bai Tian himself. His weapon was the Front Wheel Shooter, which could be used as a gun or a handheld buzzsaw-like weapon.

However, there was a drawback to the Mach Driver’s immense power. It placed a significant strain on the user’s body, limiting the duration of its use. In critical moments, users had to open the visor on their helmet to release heat, often resembling someone taking a smoke break.

Bai Tian showed his confidence by beckoning Qing Mu to make the first move. The others in the vicinity spread out to avoid being caught in the battle.

Li Ling’er and Tian Mi wore bemused expressions. They knew just how formidable Qing Mu was in his invincible state. They couldn’t help but silently hope that Bai Tian wouldn’t have his spirit crushed too badly by Qing Mu.

Qing Mu shook his head and replied seriously, “I think you should go first. If I make the first move, the battle will be over too quickly, and that wouldn’t be much fun.”

Bai Tian chuckled. “You talk a big game. Since you put it that way, I won’t hold back. Let’s see just how strong you are!” He gripped the Front Wheel Shooter in its buzzsaw mode and charged toward Qing Mu with incredible speed, almost turning into a white blur.
