chapter 30
30. The Visitor (2)
There are few stories about witches known to the world.
Witches use curses. If she falls under the witch’s curse, she dies. Witches roam all over the world. And the witch is not a being who visits, she is a being who comes.
“I need a few items to find the witch. In the game, it wasn’t difficult to make a tracking item with just the witch’s hair.”
Getting the witch’s hair itself was difficult, but once you got it, there was nothing difficult.
“I tried the other day with a piece of hair I picked up in prison, but it didn’t work out. There must be some differences between reality and games.”
“Because this is a different reality.”
Elin sympathized with those words.
Before, I would gossip about the main character and whatnot, making obnoxious noises.
But she was accepting that now she lives here and that she is in a different world similar to the one in the game.
“Status window.”
“Ugh.”
“I am the main character.”
“Please, please stop.”
The figure of Elin, with her ears reddened, was very cute.
The past, which was desperately clinging to in order to escape from the dark reality, is now no more than a dark history.
“It’s a pity that I can’t handle her mana with that fraudulent ability.”
“Instead of her physical prowess, no one will come close to me.”
She was equipped with a morale-level ability called the status window, but all she could manipulate was her physical ability.
I also raised my attractiveness, so there was no other person in this world who could compare me in terms of looks.
Although she couldn’t use magic, Elin was satisfied with that.
Because it is now possible to subdue Froden, who was pushed back with force before, with pure physical power.
She could even crush trees with her grip, just like crushing tofu, without using her magical powers.
How surprised she was to see that reality and her powers outside her wits.
“Did you complete the product according to the design I told you to make?”
Elin sighed. When she saw it herself, it was easy to make. When others tried to make it according to the blueprint, she was a year short of it.
“The pagoda owner helped me a lot, so I made it to fit the cut line.”
She waved her hand in the air and then magically pulled out her object.
Every time I see that phenomena that I am unfamiliar with no matter how many times I see it, like real magic, I feel full of energy.
For Froden, who was accustomed to mana and magic, that ability seemed like real magic.
“Inventory. It feels like a real game.”
“I don’t understand why you didn’t know about this game. I don’t know if you came over here by yourself decades ago.”
“Rather than that, did you check the operation? I kept modifying and sending it so that it could be used by people, but you should have seen it in person.”
“I checked everything. Since it is an experiment that can be done by simply pulling out hair, it has nothing to do with human experiments, so everyone cooperates well.”
Like a compass, there was a single needle pointing somewhere on the circle.
Froden looked at the direction the needle was pointing at, then got up and moved to another place.
Then the needle moved back and forth, following the direction he was moving, as if being led by Froden.
“You set the setting value to me.”
“There is no point in trying to set a person who is not here as a set value.”
“Did you extract the value from my hair?”
“Just in case you didn’t know, I put in the magic paper that you gave me, and it seems to be working normally.”
When I sent the last blueprint, I sent hair and miscellaneous items to be used in the experiment. One of them was magic paper containing his own magic.
The same paper that the witch gave you.
“Then this makes it clear.”
“When are you leaving? This side has finished all the preparations to kill the witches.”
“Killing witches is no problem. The problem is the curses that activate when you kill them.”
Froden didn’t just sit back and wait for the witches.
I was making a device that could track the witches, and at the same time I was collecting all the missing information. On the one hand, he did not forget to instruct those who could move to prepare to kill the witches in advance.
“I was supposed to take care of that.”
A status window where you can raise everything except mana.
In other words, it meant that stats related to curse resistance could also be raised.
Ellin was the only possessed person who was compensated by the game. She knew all the future endings, could use the status window and she had the game system available as well.
Of course, level up too.
“My curse resistance is already close to max level. I can’t upload more than this because it’s locked, but don’t worry, I can push that much with my temp.”
“I know that. Still, I thought it might be putting all the burden on you.”
“Ha. Why are you so worried now? Just do it yourself, as usual, and say it like that.”
Froden struggled to answer.
While waiting for the witch, he managed to control the anger he had only suppressed by forcibly getting caught up in the incident.
His nervous and resentful heart, the guilt of losing his fiancé in front of his eyes, and the negative emotions of sadness gnawed from within and pushed his spirit to the limit.
So he reacted sensitively to the surrounding events and reacted sharply by losing himself.
I was ashamed of it when I was swept away by my emotions and nearly screwed everything up. But that didn’t mean it was going to go away.
Because one of the people who suffered the most damage at the time was looking at himself with an ironic face. She is the proof of that.
It’s embarrassing, but it was reality. Proden has accepted that over the past year.
“At that time, I was too concentrated. I want to tell you that I hurt you unintentionally and treated you harshly, even though it’s late, I’m sorry.”
With that said, Froden lowered his head.
I could feel Elin shaking her hand in embarrassment at the feeling she felt.
The possessed person is also a person. Even though they occupy other people’s bodies, they are still victims unless they entered because they wanted to.
“You said you were in this world when you opened your eyes.”
“Right. After finishing all the games, I fell asleep before seeing the last happy ending, and it was here when I woke up.”
“Have you not felt another soul in that body for the past hour? The real Elin.”
Elin blinked her eyes. She had heard of it last time, but she was confused whether it was real or not.
“You mean that even if another soul enters the body, the original owner is watching the situation?”
“Even interference is possible. In Tina’s case, she got her body back once, though.”
“But I’ve never felt that way before.”
I know just by hearing rumors that such a thing really happened.
She said that the daughter of Count Erabasta had suddenly locked herself in her room like a crazy person and made a fuss.
“When the rumor spreads, that’s when someone else comes in.”
“That person is also the witch who took over Tina’s body and disappeared.”
Then the possessed person must have such a grudge.
Ellin had read countless romance novels, but had never seen anything like this.
It’s a headache to have multiple suspects, some reincarnated, witches, and even the destruction of the world.
If a novel like this had appeared in a romance where women were rampant, it would have been buried as trash.
“When everything is over, I will help you move in the direction you want.”
“Suddenly, something out of the blue.”
“If you want to go back to the original world or enter another body without an owner, I will help you.”
“I hate both. I want to live like this. Even if I go back to the original world, no one will welcome me.”
“Then do it. Because you deserve it.”
It would have been enough for me to just say I don’t know and enjoy myself as much as I wanted.
It was because there was a fact that she noticed when she went through an experiment to see where her soul was connected with Elin’s cooperation.
Despite the way, Elin decided to fulfill her responsibility when she came to this world.
Kill the witch and save the world, then live as you please.
“Although there are no smartphones, no games, and no sales records. There are still people who see me as I am.”
Ellin smiled sadly. She didn’t say anything about the past, but it was possible to infer from the words she shed at first glance.
“I just prefer this place.”
“Thank God. I like it here,”
As Froden laughed, her Elin face turned red.
“Don’t laugh like that. It’s very bad for women’s hearts, isn’t it?”
“It’s amazing how you react like that to just one smile. After all, it seems that people need probability.”
“If someone who doesn’t budge even when I smile says something like that, it’s not credible.”
“That’s because my heart has already been taken away by Tina.”
It’s a cheesy comment, but with that face, he looked rather cool.
“Please tell me that in person later.”
“Even if you don’t, I think so. Even if I tell you my feelings at any time, it’s not enough.”
Elin looked at Froden in her proud declaration.
A handsome man with black hair and red eyes. Originally, he was a capture target with a beauty that no one could match in the game.
Besides, it’s probably because of the steady training that his body looks solid.
It is nice to see a body that looks rather nimble as it is compressed with actual muscles rather than excessive bulking up.
His brain was so good that he was even creating and leading the study of magic engineering.
Excellent beauty, good specs, a good family, and a great body. He had no corner to fall for.
The only downside was his sleazy personality… But after that was fixed, there’s no room for anything to play with.
“If you look closely, you are a really ridiculous scammer. In terms of games, he is a balance destroyer.”
“Thank you for the compliment.”
“Oh, that’s unlucky.”
Elin felt strange as she hurriedly tossed this and that light story about him and her.
She became more comfortable with him as her feelings for him were naturally resolved one by one.
When Elin realized that, Froden’s mouth fell shut. His kind words are no longer heard, but his kind eyes remain.
“You are a very dangerous man. If I hadn’t developed immunity through virtue, I would have been in big trouble.”
“That is very fortunate. My heart is full of Tina, so there is no empty seat.”
“Ugh, really. Really unlucky.”
It’s even more unlucky to say such a comment with that face.
Elin held out her tracking item, fanning her hot face.
When the item, which had been put on the back burner while talking for a while, suddenly dropped in front of his eyes, Froden laughed bitterly.
“It would be better for you to hold it than for me to hold it. I just need to meet the witch in person through this paper.”
“Even if you have the means to meet her witch, it will be difficult to find out her home base.”
“That’s why she wants to entrust the item. When she meets me and tells her story, the witch will surely return to her home. Because she said ‘we’ with her own mouth. She never means she’s not moving alone.”
“I’m glad I’m not your real enemy. I don’t miss anything.”
Froden took out her paper from within her arms, tore off the corner and handed it to Elin. It was fortunate that the magic paper was not an item that lost its effectiveness just because it was torn.
Upon receiving her paper, Elin changed the set value of her tracking item to her witch’s magical power.
As soon as the setting value was changed, the needle began to spin frantically. After turning several times, the needle suddenly stopped pointing in one direction.
“I will head in this direction first. It may not be the home base, but there might be some clues.”
“Trust me and leave it to me. I’ll pretend to cooperate with the witches first and find out what the possessor inside Tina is doing.”
“…Take care of yourself.”
“You are. Don’t push yourself too hard, and ask for help whenever you have a problem. I’m going to help.”
She was grateful even though it was empty words. It came about suddenly, but I never thought my unconditional side would be so reassuring.
“I care about my fiancee. ‘Cause I’ll take care of this Also, don’t say that she couldn’t find it because of me.”
Froden also put on an embarrassed expression, probably feeling that her words were too pretentious.
“Let’s do that.”
After her words, there was no further conversation. Elin followed the compass and left her mansion. Sensing the signs of Elin moving away from her, Froden erased her smile.
From earlier on, the magic wave had been being sensed from the torn magic paper.
As if asserting herself, she was releasing her magical powers as if her paper was about to tear. When she read the wavelength she felt and the spell used on the paper, it was teleport magic.
It is also a teleport that pulls the opponent towards you.
“I don’t think it’s a witch. Dealing with people is difficult.”
After those words, Froden’s figure disappeared from her room.
