Chapter 5: 『Improvement of the Roman Empire's Reputation』
More than three years have passed, and the Roman Empire has grown rapidly. Now, it has become the center of trade, entertainment, jobs, and tourism, attracting crowds of people to visit the Roman Empire.
At the moment, Nero and I are sitting on the thrones as Emperor and Empress. Today, there is a festival called Infinicius.
Infinicius is an art festival focusing on music and painting, intended to nurture individuals with artistic talent. This event preserves tradition while fostering the creation of new art forms and lasts for only one week.
Although brief, it is sufficient since the Infinicius festival is overseen by individuals personally selected by the Emperor.
One week later, Infinicius ended, and daily life returned to normal, thanks to the Emperor and Empress.
The Roman Empire is now free of poverty. Peace and harmony reign across all its territories. This is merely the beginning of its history, as the Empire continues to shape the world, solidifying its place as the center of civilization.
➙ Note
Although this is already the fifth chapter, the protagonist's name had not yet been revealed. So, I will now introduce the protagonist's name:
The protagonist's name is Eranius Alveinius Inasacretius.
Although long, it's not as long as Nero's full name. The protagonist is usually referred to as "Er" or "Al" depending on how close someone is to him.
➙ End
Currently, Eranius and Nero are advancing the Empire even further, and they have declared plans to expand their territory.
This declaration sent neighboring kingdoms and empires into a state of panic and fear due to the overwhelming power displayed by the new Emperor. It took only four months for them to conquer eight surrounding kingdoms, leaving no kingdoms near the Roman Empire.
This expansion significantly strengthened the Empire. Over the next four months, notable changes occurred. The most striking of these was the unmatched skills and abilities of the Roman Imperial Army, now considered the strongest force.
Their strength comes not only from their skills and abilities but also from superior military strategy. This was made possible by the Emperor's policies, which ensured high education for all citizens of the Empire.
Within just two years after the territorial expansion, the Roman Empire grew even stronger.
After all this progress, Emperor Eranius remembered the main plot. He had ignored it for nearly seven years, preoccupied with managing the Empire.
Realizing this, Eranius sent spies to monitor the Diabolos Cult and Shadow Garden. The spies trained personally by the Emperor and Empress are incredibly powerful—on par with half the level of Cid Kageno.
These spies can shroud their mana across vast regions and even destroy them, but their loyalty is ensured through obedience seals. These seals resemble Runes but differ in nature, a skill Eranius acquired during his 47th reincarnation.
At the time, he was unfamiliar with that world, though some names seemed vaguely familiar—perhaps from hearsay or social media. Yet, it no longer mattered. What mattered now was understanding how far the main plot had progressed and how his actions had altered it.
In the Shadow Garden's perspective…
Currently, the main members of Seven Shadows are in Lindwurm, investigating the Diabolos Cult and its headquarters.
Unbeknownst to them, a mysterious figure watches from afar using advanced technology: a silent drone the size of an insect. Its tiny form leaves no trace of its presence.
The Seven Shadows, led by Alpha, proceed with their mission under Shadow's orders. Meanwhile, Cid Kageno secretly joins the Holy Ceremony in Lindwurm as Shadow, unwilling to attend under his real identity.
As in the anime, Shadow battles the Witch of Calamity, and the story progresses according to the original plot.
The mysterious observer reports everything via drone to their superiors. Upon hearing the report, their superiors devise a plan to ally with the vampire race.
Both leaders agree to the plan, aiming to secure special privileges at the world's end.
Meanwhile, Emperor Eranius…
The Emperor left the Empire and traveled to the Lawless City. Upon arriving, he wore no disguise, confident that few would recognize his face.
Eranius entered the Crimson Tower, guarded by infamous criminals who were nothing more than insects before him. As Eranius passed, the guards were paralyzed by the overwhelming pressure of his presence, rendering them numb and powerless.
The vampires guarding the tower instinctively knew they would perish if they confronted him. Thus, Eranius ascended the Crimson Tower effortlessly, reaching the summit.
At the top, he found a coffin lying in the center of the room. Opening it, Eranius killed a vampire named Crimson, who had been watching him from the shadows, without lifting a finger.
Inside the coffin lay Elizabeth, a powerful vampire. Eranius reached out and touched her face, channeling his strength into her while granting her a gem he obtained from the Nasuverse. This gem removed the weaknesses of vampires in this world and greatly empowered Elizabeth, breaking her curse entirely.
Elizabeth awoke, gazing silently at her savior.
Eranius spoke...
"Elizabeth... Be my subordinate, if you accept this I will accommodate your entire race and give your race a territory in my dominion." Eranius said to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth quickly realized she could not oppose this being. Using her Mana Sense, she saw an overwhelming flow of condensed energy radiating from Eranius, stretching across the entire Lawless City and beyond—reaching continental borders.
Unable to comprehend the full scope of his power, Elizabeth accepted Eranius' offer without hesitation.
