Chapter 8: Chapter 8: The Transmigrator and the Reincarnator
"Onii-sama will protect me, right?" Kihara Enshuu spoke as she clutched Kiryu's hair with both hands.
"Of course, cuteness is justice after all." Kiryu shamelessly answered without hesitation.
Because of the position they were in with her on his shoulders, Kiryu could not see her face... Her gaze towards him suddenly became unusually gentle, yet fanatical.
It was as if she wanted to devour him whole.
Her countenance had completely changed from before...
'Onii-sama!' she spoke within herself, 'I'm finally with you... again! This isn't a dream, is it? If this is a dream, please don't let me wake up!...'
'This time, I will always stay by your side, no matter what!' She resolved in her heart.
In truth, this was Kihara Enshuu's second life.
Strictly speaking, she had been reincarnated.
In her previous life, or what could be now called the 'future', Kihara Enshuu would be known in the Kihara Clan as being more than just a 'Kihara'.
In a way, her existence would shine brightly in that she would be considered special even among members of the Kihara Clan.
At a 'young' age, she 'was' kidnapped by the Kihara Clan's scientific rivals that 'claimed' to be on the side of justice... those masked men from today. They did not, or rather would not do anything harmful to her, just lock her in a dark, sealed cell.
They believed that Kiharas became 'Kihara-like' because they were taught by other Kiharas...
So, they targeted the young Enshuu and planned to teach her only the basic knowledge of being human, such as language and customs... All that, in hopes that she might turn out to be something other than 'Kihara-like'... except, her captor left her alone in solitude.
However, in reality, this was just a revenge plot by those who envied the 'slightly' twisted but genuinely talented Kihara Clan, a plot that was embellished in the name of justice. It was just a classic tale of jealousy and revenge.
After abducting her, they did not kill her, nor did they torture her... Instead, they carefully cared for her, allowing her to grow up healthily.
However, her entire growth space was confined to a single room... In simple terms, it was just solitary confinement.
These people aimed to have her abandon learning and have her just live a long and basically ignorant life, ultimately placing the renowned 'Kiharas' in a position even more foolish than themselves... It was just a way to satisfy their twisted desires. Unable to surpass the accomplished 'Kiharas', they targeted the young child.
As a result, Kihara Enshuu did not learn the multiplication tables... She didn't even know the Japanese' basic writing system, Hiragana and Katakana, let alone the Kanji, and ultimately Furigana.
This wasn't because of her intelligence though, but simply because she could not access formal education... Supposedly.
However, this childish revenge plot soon fell apart.
Despite not receiving any education and not even being able to speak clearly, Enshuu covered the room's walls and floors with 'graffiti'. These were not multiplication tables or any known characters. They were complex equations written in strange symbols she had invented—theories proving the basic principles of cryogenic sleep devices.
Furthermore, three discarded crayons were used to depict beauty far beyond the golden ratio, the crumpled papers strewn around contained diagrams of parallel calculation devices, her incomprehensible speech was science itself... The shadow of a floor lamp could reveal the deep psychological activities of anyone who saw it, a new kind of psychological experiment.
All of this was naturally learned by Kihara Enshuu by simply observing her surroundings through her innate talent.
It seems isolating a Kihara did not change anything.
As long as a Kihara was a Kihara, external information was optional.
And since Kiharas were Kiharas, they had an almost pathological love for the concept of science.
Fundamentally, science was not just something found in textbooks or references. It was not something unknowable without parental or teacher guidance. Essentially, everything forming this ordinary world was considered science. For the young Enshuu, she could basically learn from anything. Her surroundings provided infinite study materials, from the dust particles floating in the room to the texture of a plastic cup, all became mediums enhancing Kihara Enshuu's intelligence...
