Chapter 67
“Do I have to feed you myself to get you to eat?”
“You’ve got to be kidding me!”
Finally, Ravi exploded in frustration.
“Am I a joke to you? Just because I’m not as good at magic as
that guy
and can’t be helpful, now I’m just a laughingstock? You don’t even see me as your brother anymore, dammit!”
As he spoke, the bitterness seemed to overwhelm him, and he muttered a curse under his breath.
‘As I thought.’
Camilla had already guessed that his frustration was because of Arsion.
‘He’s one of those people who are too aware of their own talents and can’t handle seeing someone better.’
Ravi was surrounded by plenty of people less capable than him, yet the moment he encountered someone even slightly superior, his confidence crumbled.
‘First Ludvilel, and now Arsion?’
Camilla clicked her tongue inwardly at his predictability.
“Brother.”
Ravi turned his head away sharply, like a sulking child, ignoring her.
“I almost died recently.”
“…What are you talking about?”
His eyes widened in alarm, instantly snapping toward her.
“Professor JB” Camilla said. “That guy nearly killed me.”
“Hey! You didn’t say anything like that back then!”
Ravi shot up from his seat in agitation.
“You said it wasn’t dangerous at all!”
“Yeah, it wasn’t dangerous at all.”
“This little—! Are you joking right now—!”
“It’s because of this.”
Camilla held up her wrist, showing the magical bracelet Ravi had made for her.
“That man… he’s stronger than I expected. When he grabbed my throat, I couldn’t even react properly.”
“You…!”
“But in front of this bracelet, even he couldn’t do much.”
Ravi opened his mouth as if to argue but then slumped back into his seat.
“If I didn’t have this, I wouldn’t have dared to take him on. I trusted this bracelet you made for me, Brother, and that’s why I did it.”
It wasn’t a complete lie. While she had relied more on Rub, the leader of Black Shadow, the bracelet had been a significant help.
“Didn’t I tell you before? Without you, I’d be an orphan.”
“…….”
“In other words, it’s because I have you that I can rely on that and act so recklessly.”
Ravi didn’t respond for a while, but Camilla could tell his mood had softened.
He was trying to maintain a heavy atmosphere, but to someone as adept at reading people as Camilla, it was clear.
His lips twitched ever so slightly, and the tips of his ears had turned faintly red.
“Are you going to eat or not? Do I have to shove it in your mouth myself?”
“…You’re getting more and more aggressive by the day.”
“That’s because I take after you.”
“If only you couldn’t talk…”
“Oh, you prefer a mute little sister? Want me to shut up for the rest of my life?”
“…Fine, I’ll eat. Happy?”
Ravi picked up his spoon and began to poke at the food, as though he were eating under protest.
Not long after, however, his plate was completely empty, not a single morsel left behind.
Considering he hadn’t eaten anything for a week, he must have been starving. Yet he still pretended otherwise—such typical Ravi behavior.
Sigh.
Camilla let out a short sigh inwardly.
‘It’s exhausting having to coddle him like this.’
But what else could she do? She had to keep his fragile ego intact; otherwise, who knew what kind of nonsense he might get up to next?
‘Ah, the joys of my life.’
