Chapter 1186: The Oathkeepers

The next morning, Archer woke up feeling noticeably better. However, when he caught his reflection in the mirror, his heart sank. The left side of his face was still tarnished with cuts, making him cringe at the sight.

He took out the mask and put it on before getting dressed, causing pain to shoot through his body. While doing that, Leira's voice echoed in his mind, ''The four Oathkeepers are ready, my love.''

Archer smiled when hearing that and quickly woke up Mary, who had a sweet smile on her beautiful face, ''Morning, handsome, did Leira contact you?''

''Yes,'' he nodded. ''I'm going to check them out. I'll be in the Domain but meet me at the Palace entrance.''

Just as Archer said, explosions rocked the building, causing him to stumble around. Mary grabbed ahold of him as he scanned the outside and realized the rebels were using the cannons against them.

''Fuckers, watch what happens now,'' he muttered.

''I'll go check on what's happening and shield the palace,'' Mary commented while putting on a cloak. ''You go check out your new bodyguards. I heard their something special.''

Following that, the grey-haired woman vanished as Archer entered the Domain. As soon as he did, his body started hurting. He gritted his teeth before entering the lab, where the Imperial Guard opened the doors for him.

Every soldier saluted as he passed, but a smiling Meredith soon met him. The blonde maid spoke with a warm expression, ''Hello Husband. Congratulations on becoming stronger. I'm happy for you.''

Archer quickly hugged the beautiful woman, which made her smile grow. ''Thank you Mere, thank you for all your help.''

The maid tiptoed and placed a gentle kiss on his lips before leading him through the lab, where the smell of chemicals, blood, and metal hit his nose. Archer grew curious as Meredith started speaking, ''We created a squad of Oathkeepers, as you call them. Is there a reason for that?''

''Yes, ten Oathkeeper Knights make up a squad, ten squads make up an Oathkeeper Company,'' he explained, causing the woman's green eyes to widen as he continued. ''My Honor Guard will be the First Company that comes with me everywhere as you ladies require.''

Meredith giggled when hearing this before speaking. ''The whole harem agreed without a single objection. These soldiers are so impressive that I'm shocked that the gods allowed their creation.''

''They're something special,'' he revealed with a hint of pride. ''I took inspiration from a series of novels I read back on Earth.''

As they stepped into an underground arena, Archer's eyes widened in astonishment. Before them stood ten massive figures, each towering at eight feet tall and built like living tanks while giving off an aura of strength.

He shook his head while staring at his new bodyguards. 'They're giants.'

Their armor stood as proof of Dellah's unparalleled craftsmanship, emanating a gentle, ethereal white glow like his scales. Every plate and joint bore the meticulous touch of his designs, flawlessly realized through the hands of the mature dwarf.

The sight reminded him of the Space Marines from the media back on Earth, warriors clad in imposing armor that would make them unstoppable forces on the battlefield. Once he was looking at the Oathkeepers, Meredith guided him toward Nefertiti, Leira, and Dellah.

Archer noticed the girls were having a heated discussion around a table. That's when the blonde maid cleared her throat with a polite cough, drawing their attention. The women's expressions shifted instantly, lighting up with joy.

One by one, they embraced him tightly, their warmth unmistakable, before each sealed the moment with a passionate kiss. Following that, Archer commented with a curious expression, ''What are you girls arguing over?''

''The Oathkeepers want to use your blood but Nefertiti and Dellah think it's not right,'' Leira revealed in an annoyed tone. ''They happily agreed to it, even if we don't know the consequences of said actions.''

''It's wrong, what if they turn into mindless slaves?'' Nefi spoke up. ''What was the point of saving them in the first place?''

Before he could talk, Tiamat's voice sounded in his mind, 'It will give them an enormous boost in strength, speed, endurance and make them fanatically loyal even more than they already are. That's all my husband.'

Archer glanced around, scanning the area, but he saw nothing out of the ordinary, which brought a smile to his face. Turning back to the group, he said confidently, ''It'll be fine, but let me ask them first.''

Afterward, he approached the ten Oathkeepers, who immediately dropped to one knee in unison. The leader spoke with unwavering belief, ''It is an honor to see you well, My Lord. We stand ready to offer our lives to you in this life and the next. We were once lost, broken, and cast aside, but you gave us purpose, a chance to serve something greater.''

''Good, you will be with me at all times until more knights are created, but I have a job for us to complete,'' Archer revealed with a smile. ''I will teleport us to the airfield outside Dragonheart City where you will board a Mana Aircraft, which will bring you above the palace and you'll drop in, giving the kingdom a good show.''

The man nodded before introducing himself in a voice full of respect, ''I am Oathkeeper Knight Commander Thalion, My Lord.''

Archer greeted him with a nod and quickly noticed Thalion used a long sword that was on his back. Following that, he then met the other nine Oathkeeper Knights. Kaelen, the second in command, wielded a great axe.

Varek wielded a sword and shield, Alderic a mighty warhammer, while Darian carried a greatsword. Fenris favored a bardiche, Malric dual-wielded swords, and Cairn fought with a polearm. Voryn stood as a battle mage, and Ravok specialized in close combat.

Following that, Archer ordered them to drink his blood to make them stronger and even more loyal than they had agreed to. Once that was over, the women kissed him farewell before getting back to work.

He watched them rush off while opening a Gate to the airfield which made him grunt in pain as he stepped through. The Oathkeeper Knights formed a circle around him that shocked the shocking soldiers.

When the bases commander realized it was Archer, he rushed forward, but Thalion blocked the stranger, stopping the man in his tracks. He watched the man kneel as he spoke in a nervous voice, ''What brings you here, Your Majesty?''

After completing the next phase of his plan, Archer returned to the palace entrance, where explosions rocked the air and battle raged on. As he stood there, his eyes caught sight of Teuila and Nala stationed at the gate.

He began walking toward the gate while sending the two women a message. 'I'll be fine. Make sure everyone is watching.'

They spun around while looking down with wide eyes as Archer blew them a kiss before talking to the Imperial Guard at the gate. ''Open it.''

Nala went to stop them, but he spoke in her mind, 'Just wait, my beautiful lioness.'

The blonde halted but gave a nod of acknowledgment. The soldiers responded by opening a small door, allowing Archer to step through. His gaze immediately fell upon an army of rebels gathered not far from the wall. The sight drew an ominous grin across his face, one that radiated malevolence.

Without hesitation, he walked toward the soldiers. They surged forward as recognition dawned upon them, their movements growing frantic in his presence. His grin widened as they encircled him, a predatory confidence in his demeanor.

Then, three men emerged from their ranks to confront him, but as the one in the lead went to speak, a horn echoed across the landscape. He looked up with a gleam in his violet eyes as ten figures were falling toward the ground.

Moments later, the Oathkeeper Knights descended, forming a perfect circle around Archer. Their sheer presence sent waves of terror through the rebels as the eight-foot-tall armored behemoths loomed over them like harbingers of doom.

The rebels froze, their confidence shattered by the appearance of these monstrous warriors. Archer's sinister smile deepened as he surveyed the panic in their ranks. In a commanding, ice-cold tone, he ordered, ''Commander Thalion! Show these rats what becomes of those who dare rebel against me!''

On hearing his orders, the Oathkeeper Knights moved with terrifying speed for their size, their massive weapons slicing through the rebels as if they were made of air. Swords, axes, and halberds cleaved effortlessly through armor and flesh, leaving devastation in their wake.

The rebel's panicked cries filled the air, only to be silenced moments later by the relentless onslaught. Archer's towering bodyguards were an unstoppable force, their strikes were merciless.

Blood stained the ground as rebel after rebel fell, their formations crumbling into chaos. Archer stood there with an evil glint in his eyes. He watched as the rebels fell like wheat before a scythe, their resistance shattered beneath the might of his Oathkeepers.
