A Nobleman's Journey across the Multiverse

???: Hey, Wake up Apollyon. The guards will come wake us up and take you away if you don't wake up!"

After hearing someone call my name I woke up instantly and when I saw the ones who called me, they looked weird almost like beasts.

One of them had a resemblance to a buffalo and the other had the face of an alligator. More Importantly why are they wearing ragged clothing and bruise marks on their faces and cuts on their bodies.

Apollyon: Need something...?"

???: "Get up quickly before the guards drag you out and beat you up. We are some minutes late already trying to wake you up so get up"

I get up and they quickly grab both of my arms and rush towards wherever direction we are supposed to be in.

And with the amount of rock and hot temperature I guess we are in a cave deep underground.

After what seems to be two minutes we reached a part of the cave where it got way bigger.

The sounds of picks hitting the rocks were heard everywhere and the guys who brought me here went towards an area that had some guards protecting the picks.

???: "Look who finally arrived after his beauty sleep!"

???: "Sorry we are late sir we just got up and no one woke us up, we will get straight to work so please don't tell the prison guards"

???: "At least you guys are here, if it was two minutes more I would drag the three of you out by force!"

???: "Take the picks and go to Section 7 where the mining captain of team 5 requested more people to help out"

???: Yes sir! Apollyon grab a pick and follow us!"

Apollyon: "Then let's go before anything bad happens"

We soon start jogging with the picks on our shoulders towards section 7, luckily both of them know where we are going so we soon arrived and heard people shouting orders and the sounds of picks hitting rock is heard.

???: You three here to help?"

???: "Yes sir we are here to help you out by the orders of Malachai"

???: "Good, bastard finally is sending people up to help us. Even if you were not I would force the three of you to help us out"

???: "Go down the tunnel and start working once you found a spot"

We soon start going downwards into the tunnel that has some lanterns placed on the wood pillars to give us light. While we were going downwards we found some old men who were singing what seems to be an old miners song and for those near them made them motivated a bit.

After a couple of minutes we found a place where the three of us could mine so we started mining.

Clang!

And when I swung the pick down onto the rock it bounced back a bit and made me realize that my previous strength was gone making me sigh.

???: "Did you forget how to mine Apollyon?"

Apollyon: "Guess they haven't been feeding me good food"

???: "Haha, that's not how you hold a pick and mine boy!"

One of the old miners had turned to look at me chuckling before he showed me how to properly swing.

???: "Hold the pick tight and focus on weak points of the rocks"

Whoosh!

Clang!

Crack!

Apollyon: "Thank you for your help"

I gripped the pick tightly with both hands and lifted it up and swung downon my pick through the rocks that start to break off.

Whoosh

Clang!

Crack!

Whoosh

Clang!

Crack!

I did move back when some rocks started to fall trying to hit my body, it is kinda painful with the speed those tiny rocks fall though.

???: "Sveisha I heard your mother made you some food, can't believe you're still a mama's boy"

???: "Oh shut up! At least I have someone waiting for me"

As those two young guards talked I stared at their more secured gear and felt confused until I heard my bull headed friends whispers.

???: "Tch, talking as if he was one of us… many were forcibly brought here from our loved ones…"

???: "Mhm, still can't believe those human bastards started hunting us demi-humans for sport!"

???: "Settle down you damn beast!"

???: "Tch…"

???: "Then they started to enslave our species to work for them…"

Hearing their words I sighed because I knew that it is something medieval age humans would do when theres something with intelligence living alongside them.

We all kept mining and I did keep mining more and more for the next few hours until I felt my my hands gain some splinters.

???: "You alright Apollyon?"

Apollyon: "I'm fine, but can you tell me your guys names again,I forgot your names after a good sleep and may have forgot some things"

???: *Sigh*, Okay then. My name is Acerius and the bull headed guy beside me is Kha'vrith and we have known each other before we got captured and taken here"

Apollyon: "Can you also tell me about the Mine we are in and why we are here?"

Kha'vrith: " You really did take a sweet sleep that you don't remember almost anything"

Acerius: "Must be a human thing"

Apollyon: "Hey, that sleep was peaceful but you guys woke me out of"

Acerius: "Whatever, the Mine we are in is controlled by a human Noble that is known as a fat pig and is always inside his house using female demi-human slaves to his pleasure"

Apollyon: "Is that so? When did the Nobles become so horrible that they now buy slaves just for their pleasure?"

The arrogance of these bastard is nothing that I have not faced before back then but the slave part does irk me immensely.

As a noble you are to uphold a code of honor and conduct not ruin your family's reputation to the utmost.

Acerius: "The mine has 10 Sections and 20 teams that have a minimum of 35 miners in each team with a Captain and 10 Guards that are here to guard.

Kha'vrith: "They act like they own the place but they don't have no training whatsoever"

Apollyon: "Interesting, You know how many guards are there in total and which guards are trained to fight miners"

Acerius: "Don't even think of it, few have made rebellions and have failed because of the trained guards the Chief Guard command personally"

Kha'vrith: "They are well trained and have good coordination with one another"

Apollyon: "Do they call out their names before fighting?"

Acerius: "How the hell do you- Whatever let's just keep mining and finish with this"

4 Hours and two breaks later

We had managed to increase the tunnels width and length while singing along the old men that had some songs to pass the time and not get bored.

We had taken some small breaks that took 5-8 minutes as my body started aching and my bones felt like they would kill me.

In this time I also got to know more about Acerius & Kha'vrith past and how they got here and it made me kinda pissed off.

I also talked with the other miners and talked with them and hear how long they have been in here for.

Human greed is what I hate most but even I am a greedy person, only I don't I use my greed for stupid things rather for the betterment of myself.

Apollyon: "Hey Acerius, how long until we get food or whatever it is they may give us?"

Acerius: "They give us Porridge and mashed up potato, It's not that bad only if you don't count them spitting in your damn food!"

Hearing Acerius grumble about that I chuckled and asked him if the mine is near a city or far away from a city.

Kha'vrith: "From what I heard from the guards, we are far away from the city but theres an entire fortress full of guards"

Apollyon: "Hmm…"

???: "Hey! Break times over!"

Kha'vrith: "Tch! Fine whatever…"

Acerius: "Well then, back to work once more…"

I picked up my pick and walked up as my two buddies went to different tunnels and I went to another tunnel.

As I walked past some rocks I noticed a piece sticking out and I touched it with my right hand and saw the shiny piece glow before it dissapeared.

Apollyon: "Huh?"

As I was thinking where it went to I had raised my right hand wanting to hold my head but I stopped myself once I saw the strange ore piece from earlier in my hand.

Apollyon: "How? Is this considered witchcraft?"

As I thought of the ore I sighed before clenching my left fist together with the ore and as I opened it again I saw it turn into red dust surprising me.

I clenched my left hand again and this time the red dust turned back into the black orange ore.

Apollyon: "Hoh? In that case, lets experiment.."

I stared at the end of the tunnel before I walked forward and slowly touched the crude stone wall and taking a deep breath I pushed forwards.

Whoosh!

Within moments I saw the entire tunnel change as it appeared to twist before I pushed forward once more but this time the tunnel extend and I saw a large chunk of Iron sticking out of the tunnel.

I quickly moved forward and pressed my hand onto the unrefined chunk of Iron and taking a deep breath I pushed onto the chunk of iron as my mind couldn't help but start developing new ideas.

Whoosh

As I developed ideas of old weaponry from my old world, I noticed that a piece of the chunk of Iron had disappeared and I felt my hands grab onto something.

Looking down at my hands I stared in amazement but at the same time I felt dissatisfied.

Apollyon: "Well, it's not too bad considering I don't even know how this works at all…"

While I would love to keep experimenting with the iron, theres no way knowing if this is the last ore I find.

So copying what I did earlier I placed my right palm onto the iron ore chunk and saw it slowly disappear as it seemed to go into my palm.

Apollyon: "Well, time to work to have an Alibi.."

I picked up my pick and started mining on the place I found the large chunk of Iron and had carefully dug around the spot to make it seem as if nothing was there.

Acerius POV

3 Hour Later

Acerius: "Apollyon! Our shift ends here!"

As I shouted at our human friend I didn't hear him yell back and I got worried before I ran towards him while Kha'vrith had sighed and joined me.

While we were running I came to my senses as I realized we could run through the tunnel and not feel an end to it.

Acerius: "Damn it! Dont tell me Apollyon got trapped here by some magic ore he mined!"

Kha'vrith: "Haha, the human has some balls! Lets see if he is still alive before we go tell the guards"

I nodded and as we saw the end of the tunnel, my jaw couldn't help but open as I saw multiple tunnels dug out to the sides and saw Apollyon laying down with a purple colored ore held in his hand.

Acerius: "Damn! Thats an rare magic Ore!"

I ran over to him and shooked him awake as he stared at me in surprise before grabbing his head.

Acerius: "Are you good Apollyon?"

Apollyon: "Y-yeah, just exhausted from all the work"

Acerius: "You got caught in the magic ores illusions"

Apollyon: "Damn, did not expect to be caught up in illusions by some ore"

How much did he have to be around that stuff to get him knocked out?

Acerius: "Still, you got a lot farther than I thought you would, mining three small tunnels"

Apollyon: "Yeah well that's what happens when you want to get rid of thoughts"

Acerius: "Well time to head back and take a rest after our break"

Apollyon had nodded and got up slowly with my help and we soon left this section of our mine and went back to our quarters.

Apollyon POV

30 Minutes later

Once we came back to our wuarters I took a deep breath before looking around for anyone staring at my hands as I clenched my right hand before opening it and saw the purple pearlescent ore within my palm.

I clenched my palm and the purple pearlescent ore disappeared and I sighed. I should wait until midnight for the others to fully sleep before I experiment.

4 hours later

I took a look around and focused on hearing if any of them were awake before I sneaked out of my makeshift bed and walked outside the cave as I stared at the shining stars.

Apollyon: "How beautiful….theres no smoke covering the sky…."

As I stared at the sky I couldn't help but stare down the wide edge onto the hollow hole below where I could see some miners still working.

I took a deep breath before I sneaked off towards the same tunnel we had come from and looking at the the moon I could tell it was around 11:30.

30 minutes later

Once I arrived at the same tunnel I saw the tunnel change slightly with there being a bit of purple fog around making my face turn grim.

Apollyon: "Well damn, It's something that came out from the purple pearlescent ore?"

I pinched my nose with my left hand and closed my mouth as I walked further inside the tunnel and saw the purple smoke become denser than before.

Who would have thought that digging smaller tunnels from the main one would help keeping the purple fog contained as it slolwy filled up the tunnels.

I went where I saw the densest part of the purple fog and placed my left hand over a wall and walked forwards until I touched a cold mettalic surface.

I clenched my left fist and felt a part of the purple ore dissapeared and I continued clenching my hand on the ore until I felt there wasn't any ore left.

Feeling my mind be clouded I ran back to the entrance retracing my steps with my hand on the tunnel wall.

Once I came out the tunnel I was about to run but I saw one of the guards with a lantern coming up the incline of the walkway.

Apollyon: "Bloody hell…"

I swiftly got back inside the tunnels after getting a deep breath and ran to the deepest parts.

I clowed my eyes and solely focused on my ears to hear the guard.

???: "Huh? Why is the tunnel purple now? Damnit!"

???: "I can't report it otherwise my stuff will be seen! Damn miners can't mine properly!"

???: "Gotta make sure no one notices the tunnel got flooded with this fog….hu-?"

Hearing him talk about closing the tunnel I had sneaked closer to the entrance and waited as the guard moved to look down the hollow hole.

I sneaked up behind him before I walked behind him and as he heard something to turn around I wrapped my arm around his neck and grabbed his spear that fell from his hands.

???: "A-ah hel-…."

I brought him back into the tunnel and searched his body and took his keys chain that had only 3 keys.

Forgetting that I clenched my left fist holding the keys I had accidentally turned them into dust and I quickly clenched my fist again as I saw them turn back into the keys and I took a breath of relief.

I looked at the rest of the ore he had on his body and thinking something I looked at the purple fog that still hasn't dissipated.

I dragged the guards unconscious body onto a tunnel and remembering he talked about hiding something I started to look around more closely to anything that could be moved.

10 minutes later

As I continued searching I saw a large rock sitting beside one of the original tunnels and saw that there was a originally a rock a few feet to the right.

Following my intuition I walked over before I started to move the moved rock with all the strength I had in my weakened body.

After what felt like forever I managed to move the heavy rock and underneath it I saw a large amount of ores store beneath in a hollowed out hole.

Apollyon: "This…theres 15 with at least 7 different types of ores.."

I swiftly grabbed the rest of the ore and using my right hand to clench my fists they dissapeared and I grabbed the ones from the guards body and put two of them inside the hollowed out hole.

I put the guatds body nearby alongside his spear and swiftly left the area and headed back to my quarters where I had to sneak past multiple guards on the way.

Once I got inside I got up my makeshift bed and stopped as I heard Acerius speak quietly.

Acerius: "Whatever you did, don't let me catch you talking with a guard…"

I got up onto my makeshift bed and spoke back quietly to Acerius.

Apollyon: "No, I went out to see the nightsky and knocked out a guard"

Acerius seemed to stop as he looked at me from across the room.

Acerius: "Hah, then as long as you don't get caught it's fine…"

Apollyon: "Yeah, I made sure to…but goodnight old friend…"

Acerius: "Hmph, whatever…night human…"

I smiled and closed my eyes as I stared at the wall where I had carved 3 years, which appears to be how long I have been here for and the name I carved onto the wall as a friend, Acerius…

While I may not know how far I know these guys, just knowing that my previous self only carved Acerius name and not Kha'vrith's name tells me he is a great friend I could trust fully.

Apollyon: 'Well i'd be, I still can't believe that I have reincarnated in whatever place I am"

Apollyon: "But I still wonder what strange abilities I have gained…I can only find out with more experiments…'
