Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Formula
Keito looked at him, his tone cold and firm. "For now, let the child continue his experiment."
"However, if Reiji goes too far and causes dangerous damage, stop him immediately."
"If it's just a few small explosions, ignore it. Tell the villagers that it is a trial being conducted by the village to further develop Fuinjutsu."
The Anbu nodded obediently. "Understood, Clan Head. I will inform the others."
Keito gave a slight nod, watching the Anbu figure disappear quickly and silently, as if becoming part of the shadows around him.
Once the room was empty again, Keito stared out the window, his gaze filled with a vague concern.
"Reiji... what exactly are you pursuing?" Keito murmured softly, as if asking himself.
"I understand, Clan Head. I take my leave." The Anbu nodded respectfully before vanishing into the shadows, as if the person had merely been an illusion that never truly existed.

On the other side, Reiji was focused on his experiment.
His hands moved deftly, carefully holding a piece of Explosive Paper.
This time, Reiji was trying to decipher the [Formula] from the Explosive Paper, attempting to transform it into something more complex—a Chain Explosion that only required one piece of Explosive Paper to produce a double or even consecutive explosion effect.
Although the idea sounded impossible, Reiji was challenged to prove it.
Reiji squinted, examining the combination of formulas he had written.
"[Formula] should be simple," Reiji murmured softly, meticulously noting: One/Explosion + Fire = Fire Explosion.
But this time, Reiji was trying something bolder.
Reiji crossed out the initial formula and rewrote it: Two/Explosion + Fire = Twin Fire Explosion.
With full confidence, Reiji activated it—but there was only silence.
The Explosive Paper remained intact, with no explosion at all.
Reiji sighed, but his determination did not wane. He thought quickly, recalculating in his head, then changed the formula again.
This time, Reiji wrote: Three/Explosion : Small Fire = Chain Fire Explosion.
Reiji's hands trembled slightly as he held the Explosive Paper, but once again, the experiment ended in disappointing silence.
Reiji gritted his teeth. "Come on, there has to be a way," Reiji muttered, channeling his determination into the next formula.
This time, Reiji designed a more complex formula, writing steadily: Five : Explosion/Fire = Chain Fire Explosion.
When Reiji then immediately threw it into the sky, activating it, a subtle vibration began to creep through the air, then…
*BOOM!* The first explosion occurred, followed by a series of booming sounds that shook the ground beneath his feet.
*Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!*
Reiji was startled, realizing the explosions were happening much faster than he had anticipated. "Oh no!"
Reiji shouted, running as fast as he could away from the center of the explosion.
However, Reiji was too close; the final explosion hit him with a powerful shockwave, sending his body crashing hard against a tree by the lake.
Breathing heavily and with a throbbing headache, Reiji slowly got up, looking at the lake now filled with billowing smoke and churning water.
Reiji looked around, ensuring no one was hurt due to his dangerous experiment.
Fortunately, this lake was quite secluded.
However, as Reiji gazed at the chaotic results of his experiment, he laughed softly, half confused, half satisfied.
"This is crazy… but I did it," Reiji murmured, smiling faintly even though his body ached.
Perhaps the previous failures were just small steps toward a high-risk success.
"Oh my... This place is a complete mess!" Reiji sighed, where he immediately rubbed his neck while looking around at the devastation.
The water from the lake rippled violently due to the earlier explosion, and some trees were even shaken.
Reiji frowned, his face reflecting genuine concern. "Uh… Am I going to have to compensate for all this damage? But I don't even have any money!"
