Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Hungry
The growling voice of Yamata-no-Orochi shattered the silence of the night.
"Bastard! I just wanted to thank you for your help in making this place!" Reiji couldn't contain his anger.
Despite feeling weak, Reiji still struggled to maintain control.
"Hmph! Good! Bow before this great being!" Yamata-no-Orochi snorted arrogantly, boasting about his unclear role in this event.
"Shut up, you jerk! You sound ridiculous!" Reiji was annoyed, ignoring the awkwardness of the situation.
"What! You started it, you bastard!" Yamata-no-Orochi hissed angrily, making the atmosphere even more heated.
"I know! So just be quiet!" Reiji quickly shifted his focus.
Reiji didn't want to prolong this argument.
His thoughts were already focused on something else—the underground space that had just been reinforced with Fuinjutsu: Defensive Space Formation.
Reiji thought for a moment, but suddenly a feeling of hunger crept into his body.
Reiji smiled awkwardly, realizing that he hadn't had dinner yet.
Reluctantly, Reiji got up from his spot.
He rubbed his head, feeling a bit dizzy, but managed to stand.
"I'm hungry too," Reiji muttered to himself, then he stepped toward the kitchen.
As Reiji lifted the lid to look for food, memories of Karina came back to him—she usually came bringing food, but today she hadn't brought any.
Reiji sighed deeply, feeling a bit lonely.
Quickly, Reiji opened a package of ramen from the cupboard and began to prepare it.
Before long, the aroma of cooking began to fill the room.
After a few minutes, the ramen was ready.
Reiji sat at the dining table and started to eat slowly, savoring each bite even though his mind remained restless.
While eating, Reiji began to think seriously.
Once the research room and training room were completed, Reiji would start focusing on learning Fuinjutsu.
Reiji intended to study all types of Fuinjutsu available in the Uzumaki Clan.
That ability would be useful for designing more seals that could assist Reiji, both in battle and for protection.
However, there was one thing that troubled Reiji's mind.
Reiji was unsure whether to use Ninjutsu.
As someone who prioritized mental strength and fighting techniques that required less energy, Ninjutsu often felt cumbersome.
Moreover, to master certain techniques, Reiji would have to master dozens of hand seals, although some techniques only required a few hand seals, like Rasengan and Chidori.
That was something Reiji did not want to do unless absolutely necessary—using too many hand seals.
As he continued to eat, Reiji felt that his decision to prioritize Fuinjutsu was the right step.
Fuinjutsu gave Reiji more control.
And that was what Reiji desired more—control over his own abilities.
Reiji felt comfortable with the Sealing Paper—something that was very familiar to him.
In his previous life, Reiji was a Shaman, and a Shaman usually fought using Sealing Paper as their main tool.
Because of that, Reiji decided to adapt the same fighting style he used in his previous life, even though he was now in a different world.
But to achieve that, Reiji knew he needed to learn more about Fuinjutsu, create more Fuinjutsu techniques, and develop further.
That night, after eating heartily, Reiji gazed at the star-filled night sky.
The cool night breeze brushed against Reiji's face, and although his heart was filled with the spirit to continue his training, Reiji felt tired.
Slowly, Reiji's gaze shifted to the clock on the wall, and he realized it was quite late.
"It seems I should stop here," Reiji murmured softly, though a bit hesitantly.
However, behind that thought, Reiji realized that he was still a child, and children shouldn't stay up too late.
