A Song In The Wind

Chapter 1: Bird cage

I hummed a tune I didn't understand. The lyrics on the tip of my tongue, dissolving as if they'd been washed away by foamy waves. The remains now floating in the lying green ocean. Lyrics embedded into my very soul, like the date of death on a tombstone carved into the stone. Forgotten, like the ocean had gotten too close to some fool's gravestone, washing away the name. My heart soared at the meaning of those lyrics as the wind had blown it into the air, almost playfully. My soul burned as the wind fanned flames, creating a wildfire. Alas, it was my own fault that I had forgotten these lyrics.

...

As I watched the wind carry my lyrics from me, I watched my everything fall faint into the distance. And in that moment, I vowed to see the day when I would also watch the world's ashes fly with you, just so I could give you the world as I had promised.

...

I flew with the wind, not knowing or caring where I would end up. But just knowing that even though the journey is long and difficult, it will soon be over, and eventually, my suffering will end.

"To be immortalized in song. That's my selfish wish."

Those were my last thoughts as my consciousness drifted, and I was left to nothing but an empty abyss.
