A Tale That Never Known

Chapter 5: The greatest arrival with.... Book?

Back to Little Lu staring at the strange, pointy thing that she had uncovered, her hands still trembling pulling this larger size from the discovery (just from this white ground). She walk circling the object clearly curious from the appearance of it to the down on the stark contrast of color from this white ground. Its edges felt heavy in her tiny hands, not sharp but just new sensation and weight, unlike anything else she had touched in this endless white world. She get a hunch that this strange pointy thingy held more than just its physical form—like it contained something unknown or ancient, something beyond her understanding.
It was then that she noticed it—the stark contrast between this thing and the world around her. Different! Finally! Everything in her world was white, slightly off-white, even her body. This thing... this pointy, shape large object of almost her size was different. It was darker. What is this called? It's different from the up and down and Lu! Is this color? The thought struck Little Lu like a spark of lightning. What is color? What was this difference, this newness in her world? She had never seen anything like it. Her hands, still hovering near the object, reached out about to touch it again not pulling like earlier to take it out but with something in her mind of curiosity! Her fingers running across its surface. The texture was strange—smooth, yet creaky, almost as though it had been waiting for something to happen.
Little Lu tilted her head, her curiosity overwhelming her. She gently touch the object in her hands and pull it up between the gaps, feeling its weight shift. It creaked again. And then... it happened.
The thing trembled, a strange vibration humming through the air disturbing the quiet whiteness world. Suddenly, it snapped open with a loud creeeack, unfolding and rise on it's own towering Little Lu as she back away on instinct. Little Lu stepped back in surprise, her wide greyish-blue eyes watching as the object lift itself up and floated into the air, swirling making her more tinier. It moved with a grand flourish, like a magical being performing a dramatic entrance. (Even though in our view is A Big Dictionary Floating Book.)
"Bless the soul that found me!" the object announced with a deep, resounding voice, echoing through the endless white world. It spun around, twirling in the air as if celebrating its newfound freedom. Little Lu gasped, her hands clutching her body, unsure of what was happening. It can Lu but not Luuu like Lu!! But Lu can know, Lu know the Luu from that. It turns out fine that Little Lu, for unknown reason or perhaps unexplainable that she can understand that dictionary.
"Are you the one who freed me from the lost of whiteness?" the object asked, its voice booming once again in grand then it stopped spinning and hovered before her, circling in the air like a proud magnificent thing. Little Lu blinked, her mind racing. She didn't understand the words completely, but she could feel the weight of them. Freed? Lost? Whiteness? She stared at the object, feeling both excited and uncertain. "Lu?" she asked, her voice small and unsure. It was the only thing she could say, her heart pounding as the strange thing hovered before her.
The object paused, its form still, as though contemplating her words. It tilted to one side, curious. "Lu?" it echoed, its voice softening with confusion. "Is that all you can say?" Little Lu blinked, her heart racing faster. She opened her mouth to say more, to answer the strange object's question, but all that came out was the same thing, the only word she could speak: "Lu."
The dictionary hovered in the air, silent for a moment. Then, in a tone that was a mix of surprise and contemplation which actually speechless to say. Then it asked, "Can you... speak anything else?" The question hung in the air, thick with expectation. The dictionary is too stunned in this moment, a bit awkward of it's own and yes, confused between the book and the white creature in front of it. Meanwhile, the curious Little Lu stood still, feeling the weight of the question. She opened her mouth again, but all that came out was the same, soft, simple sound. "Lu."
The dictionary's form trembled slightly, as if unsure how to respond. Why am I stuck in this awkward grand meeting with this....this white creature that freed me? Is fate playing with me? AM I SERIOUSLY GOING TO BE A TEACHER?! It circled around her once, then stopped mid-air after a serious pause and heavy thinking in its mind, its voice quieter, almost searching. "You can only speak that? Lu?" The question was like a puzzle but so direct, one that Little Lu could not solve. Her lips paused not sure how to answer, but the only thing she could manage was the word that felt like a part of her, as natural as breathing.
"Lu!" she confidently say again.
The dictionary's form wavered in the air then down to the ground touching it. It did not understand. How could this be? Was she lost in some way too? The being paused, currently motionless like a normal book for a moment. "Then perhaps... should it be that.... 'Lu' is your name," it said thoughtfully. Of course it is! This being can only say Lu! Lu! and Luu! How am I supposed to ask? Hey Lu. Since you say Lu, you must be Lu. Am I really making a joke?! The dictionary let it be and say, "Perhaps it is all you need to be, for now."
Little Lu's chest tightened with confusion, her thoughts swirling. Lu, her name? What is name? But she understood it perfectly that this what to describe her. Lu. But.....was that all she was? Why couldn't she say more? Was it a part of her journey, or was there something missing? The big book carefully circled slowly and approaching this white being, its voice now gentle. "Do not worry, Lu. You are not alone in this. There are answers to be found in time. But for now, your name is all that you need to carry with you. Perhaps there is more to you than even you know. As for name, Lu, that is yours. Me, I'm an Almanac, therefore I'm Almanac."
Little Lu felt a strange peace wash over her, as though the question of why didn't need to be answered just yet. She didn't understand everything, but something inside her told her it would come—bit by bit, just like everything else. "Aluuuu.... Luuu", she get an understanding of what this strange thing trying to tell her and the repentance of Almanac and Almanac means to her that this big strange thing is Almanac like her that can only repeat Lu. And with that thought and with their own perspective understanding, the Almanac floated gracefully lift itself little by little back to the ground, settling beside her. There was still so much to discover, but Little Lu was no longer afraid. She was on a journey—her journey. And maybe, just maybe, she would find the answers in the most unexpected places.
As the white world stretched endlessly around them, Little Lu stood tall, ready for whatever might come next.
