Chapter 161
Fortunately, aside from the second time, there was no vomiting of Hwangcheon, but I was still uneasy.
In the end, I spent the night on the same bed with Luna, unable to even close my eyes. It was to respond immediately in case she vomited again.
Vomit is unpleasant, but worse, it could block her airway and lead to a ridiculous death. I wanted to prevent such an absurd situation at all costs.
“W-What is this?! W-Why am I with you…?!”
Luna came to her senses around noon. She didn’t say that as soon as she woke up, but only after locking eyes with me.
The silence at that moment was indescribable. Luna’s expression changing in real-time was amusing as well.
Anyway, that reaction was perfectly normal. Waking up after drinking to find yourself in bed with a man you know.
And to top it off, she’s practically naked except for her panties? It wouldn’t be strange for her to misunderstand that something happened.
“Did you sleep well? Are you feeling unwell?”
“U-Unwell?”
“Yeah.”
Considering she was completely drunk and even vomited, it wouldn’t be surprising if her stomach was upset.
While I asked with that in mind, I also mixed in a bit of teasing. I wasn’t sure if Luna would catch on to that.
Luna, hearing my question, peeked under the blanket she was using to cover herself. Since I had cleaned up the vomit, her body should have been fresh and clean.
“Ugh… M-My head… and my stomach…”
Just as I thought. It seemed the hangover had hit her belatedly.
I looked at her with a pitying expression before getting up from my seat. Luna, overwhelmed by the hangover, lay back down on the bed.
I don’t know much about hangover remedies, but I do know how to make egg soup. It’s a dish I often ate on Earth, so the memory is clear.
Soon after, I tossed some clothes to Luna and went to prepare the egg soup myself. After seasoning it with salt, it was ready in no time.
“Eat.”
“T-Thank you… But what is this? It looks like eggs…”
“Egg soup.”
“Egg soup? Is this a dish from the Hwan Empire?”
Luna muttered as she quietly picked up the spoon. I wasn’t sure if egg soup existed in the Hwan Empire.
She began sipping the soup little by little, soothing her upset stomach. It seemed to suit her taste, as her pace gradually quickened.
“Is it good?”
“Yeah! It’s really good!”
“That’s a relief.”
If she had said it wasn’t tasty, I was planning to kick her out immediately. Of course, I was joking.
Time passed, and Luna finished the egg soup cleanly. She asked for another bowl, but I firmly refused.
“Why? Eating this makes my stomach feel calmer…”
“If you eat more, you’ll end up vomiting again.”
“Vomit? Wait, hold on. Again?”
At the word “again,” Luna tilted her head in confusion. Even with her pounding headache, she seemed sharp enough to catch on to the odd part.
It seemed like the time had come to reveal her dark history. Clearing up this misunderstanding sooner rather than later would be better.
“Yeah. Don’t you remember anything from yesterday?”
“N-No, I don’t…”
“You threw up on my back. And then you did it again while sleeping.”
“… …”
Clatter—
At the unembellished truth, Luna dropped the spoon she was holding.
Her face changed colors in real-time. It turned pale, then red, back and forth.
Embarrassment and guilt seemed to be battling within her. I waited silently to see how she would react.
“R-Really? I threw up? On you, of all people?”
“Yeah.”
“T-Then, me being naked…”
“I washed you. Thoroughly.”
“Aaaahhh…”
When I added that I had washed her thoroughly, Luna covered her face with both hands. Of course, she wouldn’t be able to lift her head out of sheer shame.
Still, since the misunderstanding—though not really a misunderstanding—was cleared up, it should be fine now. At least, that’s my assumption.
“Of all people, Sivar… What on earth have I done…”
“Luna.”
“Ugh…”
“It’s okay. They say people turn into beasts when they drink.”
I offered her some consolation, though it wasn’t much of one. Luna peeked at me through her fingers, still covering her face.
“And beasts are animals.”
“…Sivar?”
“Which means you’re an animal.”
“Aaaahhh!!”
Regardless of the consolation, I had to tease her. When I employed my miraculous three-step logic, Luna erupted in frustration.
Truly, there’s nothing as entertaining as teasing Luna. Her reactions are so vivid that it’s impossible to stop.
Especially when she reacts like this, it’s hard not to laugh. It’s the kind of laugh that comes from pure, unadulterated amusement.
“I’m an animal… I’m worse than a beast… What do I do…”
“It’s fine. I’m here for you.”
“At least you didn’t throw up… How can I be worse than someone from the wilderness…”
Still, it seemed like I should tone down the teasing. She probably already felt like she’d socially died.
The only saving grace was that no one but me had witnessed her dark history. If she wanted, I could keep it a secret.
“Should I keep it a secret?”
“Yes… Please, keep it a secret. If not, I won’t be able to show my face anywhere…”
It’s just vomiting; what’s the big deal? It’s something that can happen to anyone who drinks.
However, Luna had never drunk alcohol before and was from the countryside. From her perspective, it must be hard to understand.
Since I didn’t want to distance myself from her, I decided to keep it a secret. It would be best to just say she slept well.
“…But, Sivar, you said you washed me? Not the Saintess?”
“She left yesterday.”
“Really? The timing couldn’t have been worse. Or… maybe it was better…”
Having someone as dignified as the Saintess wash her would be mortifying for Luna. She might’ve preferred that I did it instead.
“Um… Sivar.”
“Yeah.”
“Thank you. Really. And I’m sorry.”
Luna expressed both gratitude and an apology to me. She still spoke while wrapped in the blanket.
I stared at her slightly flushed face for a moment before nodding silently. Since she apologized, I could let it go.
“B-By the way, I didn’t mess up yesterday, right? Like accidentally revealing your secret or something…”
“You didn’t. You just laughed.”
“L-Laughed?”
“Yeah. You even acted cute. Like this: Don’t gooo~”
I kindly demonstrated Luna’s playful tone. I added a slight nasal whine and a hint of clinginess for effect.
Luna’s reaction was priceless. Her face turned bright red, and she pulled the blanket over her head completely.
“Aaaahhh!! I want to die!! I want to die!!”
From under the blanket, I could hear thudding noises. She was probably kicking the blanket in frustration.
I waited patiently for her commotion to subside. It was behavior befitting her age, so I could let it slide.
“Ugh… A-Anything else? There’s nothing else, right?”
“Nothing else.”
“Thank goodness… If there was, I’d have hung myself.”
If that had happened, I would’ve stopped her at all costs. After all, I needed her to progress the story.
Luna managed to calm her thoroughly flushed face. Her pale skin, like mine, made the redness stand out even more.
“Phew… I’m never drinking again. Absolutely never. My head hurts, my stomach’s upset, what’s the point of this?”
“You also vomited.”
“Don’t mention that… It makes me want to cry.”
Seeing her cry wouldn’t be entirely bad. I had always been curious about how tears would look on that face.
After the commotion subsided, we exchanged various stories. Among them was the matter of visiting Byzantium.
Even though Rize had to return urgently, the schedule for visiting Byzantium remained unchanged. The only difference was that we no longer had a guide.
“The Saint asked the Headmaster for a favor?”
“Yeah.”
“Could the Headmaster be coming with us? That seems unlikely, but… when would be the best time to go?”
“Let’s go tomorrow.”
It’s best to resolve these things as soon as possible. I also have things to do during the vacation period.
The moment we return from Byzantium, at least half of the vacation will be gone. So, it’s better to hurry.
‘It’s about time that demon starts acting up.’
If it starts operating in earnest, there will be no small number of victims. Worse, if we miss the timing, it will move to another region.
It’s better to target it while it’s still in the region closest to the Academy. The problem is that the timing is cutting it close.
“Alright. Who’s going with us again? Grace said she’s returning to her household, and Ellie said she’s not going either.”
“Kara is coming.”
“So it’s the three of us—me, you, and Kara Unnie. I’ll have to visit Kara Unnie’s dormitory soon.”
Byzantium is close to the Academy. The only downside is that there isn’t a train station.
The railway is currently under construction, but it won’t be completed for another year. For now, the only option is to travel by carriage.
‘Before leaving, I should ask Porori to take good care of the territory.’
If I disappear for half a month, the Forest of Chaos’s territory might weaken.
Byzantium is one thing, but there’s also a mountain of work to do once I return. It looks like this vacation will be quite busy.
“…Sivar.”
“Yeah?”
“By any chance… where are my clothes?”
“Ah.”
I must have forgotten to take them out after washing them. I explained the situation to Luna.
Luna’s expression darkened. It seemed she was upset because her newly bought dress had gotten dirty.
Still, she couldn’t walk out naked. I looked around to see if there was anything that would fit her.
‘Seriously? All I have are shirts and pants—nothing else.’
Just white shirts and pants that fit me perfectly. That’s all I bought.
For a commoner, this would count as casual clothes, but they’re all the same color. I had no choice but to dress her in these.
“As expected, they’re way too big. But it’s better than nothing.”
The difference in weight class between Luna and me was significant. Luna had a slender body shape, while I was more robust.
As a result, everything was not just loose but downright baggy. I wondered if she could even walk properly.
“I’m heading out now. By the way, that egg soup earlier was really delicious.”
“Alright. Be careful on your way.”
“What’s there to be careful abou—ahhh!”
Thud!
Just as she said that, Luna tripped over the pants and fell. She really does the most.
“Ugh… that hurts.”
“Want me to come with you?”
“Huh? N-no, it’s not that bad. Well then, goodbye!”
Perhaps because she didn’t want to inconvenience me any further, she practically ran out as if fleeing.
Still, the fact that she waved her hand as she left showed she hadn’t forgotten her gratitude. I waved back at Luna as she stepped outside.
‘Nothing will happen, right?’
Since she said she was heading straight to the dormitory, her mouth won’t cause any trouble.
Probably.

Vacation is usually a sweet period of rest for all students.
It’s a time to recharge their depleted energy or focus on personal development. With so much free time, there’s even more to do.
However, not all students feel that way. Some fall into a slump for a while after completely messing up their exams.
Especially the student who scored the lowest during the recent Final Exam. The one who fell asleep on watch and caused their team to lose the fortress.
‘Damn it. Why did it have to be during my watch…’
The student, who had not only failed their guard duty but had been outright negligent, was grumbling in frustration.
If not for that, they would’ve attended the Freshman Banquet and made an appearance. But the rumors spread far and wide.
If they were a commoner, it might have been different. But as a noble, this kind of disgrace was the ultimate humiliation. It made it hard to even show their face.
‘Honestly, even if I had done my duty properly, it wouldn’t have worked. That lunatic…’
They blamed Sivar. Falling asleep during guard duty had cost them a significant amount of points.
They acknowledged their share of the blame, but people are inherently self-serving. They thought it was absurd, believing they wouldn’t have succeeded anyway.
Sivar’s physical strength was on that level. Even if he had launched a frontal assault in broad daylight, he could have easily occupied the fortress.
‘That damn barbarian’s plan was ridiculous too. Acting all high and mighty after just a few skirmishes.’
At first, they trusted Kara’s strength. But that didn’t last long; they still looked down on her as a barbarian.
Unaware that the problem lay with themselves, they left the dormitory. They felt like they’d explode if they didn’t blow off some steam.
“Goodbye! I’m off now!”
“Huh?”
At that moment, a sweet female voice reached their ears. This was the male-only dormitory, where women were prohibited from entering.
Turning their head, they saw Luna, the Top New Entrant, walking through the dormitory hallway. She was wearing clothes that were clearly too large for her.
‘What the? Why is the Top New Entrant here? No, more importantly, that’s…’
It was undoubtedly Sivar’s dormitory. They stared blankly at Luna’s retreating figure as she practically fled.
Normally, they would’ve pieced together what was going on. But they hadn’t attended the Freshman Banquet yesterday.
‘The Saint was definitely there yesterday…’
Whether it was because of that or sheer coincidence, they had also witnessed Rize leaving Sivar’s dormitory.
With Rize’s presence, Luna’s entry might have been permissible. But now that Rize was gone, it would no longer be allowed.
Breaking the rules was one thing, but something else loomed larger in their mind.
‘…Could it be?’
The pieces of their misunderstanding began to fall into place like a puzzle. Come to think of it, Luna was the one who brought Sivar here.
A lot had happened during that process, and Luna had been involved in the middle of it. Her appearance just now was the final clue.
‘…So that’s what it was.’
The student smirked crookedly.
‘That guy’s a man too, after all.’
Normally, they would’ve taken action to stop the rumors from spreading.
‘Let’s see how much your score drops this time.’
Unfortunately, they had missed the timing due to the trip to Byzantium.
