Chapter 977: Breaking The Spell.
In the wilderness, Shi Lang led Tian Jian and Ming Yanzi to the next spot in their destination.
Tian Jian said, "If only we could do the same to the legacy spots of these enemy races."
Shi Lang smiled and replied, "I did not expect you to have such a wild desire. You know the first people to object on this would be your own sect."
Tian Jian sighed and replied, "Do not make fun of me, Brother Shi. For ages now, the human experts have been unable to hold on and come over to the Dao Plain to claim the legacies to attain sage realm. All because of these people."
Shi Lang nodded and said, "That is why I am killing the people here, blocking their legacies would trigger the rage from an entire rage. If the sage level experts decided to make a move, things will not look good for us."
However, after two days of battle and travel when they reached the place where they were supposed to be. The situation was anything but pleasant. Before them stood humans, and not any of the ten thousand races. Shi Lang took some time to observe the people from the distance.
He narrowed his gaze and said, "Bald Donkeys."
Tian Jian and Ming Yanzi looked at him and the Terran said, "Those monks belong to the western continent."
Tian Jian nodded and said, "I have heard of them, how about this, let me go and ask if they will allow us to take a peek inside the shrine?"
Shi Lang looked at him and after taking a deep breath he said, "If those people did not agree, then you will do what?"
Tian Jian replied, "It shouldn't be like that, right? After all, we are all humans, why won't they agree?"
The Terran sighed and said, "Go and ask, you will find out on your own."
Tian Jian was a bit skeptical and he stood up before he began to walk towards the shrine. Ming Yanzi wanted to follow him but she stayed behind and asked, "Brother Shi, why do you say that they will not agree? How are you so sure?"
Shi Lang replied, "Sister Ming, they are from the west and they have a person who comprehended the supreme realm. That man is the holy son of the Buddhist sect, and is revered as the next Sage. They already treat him like a sage because he passed eight life tribulations. That guy intends to unite the four kingdoms and have everyone follow him. Can you understand why they will not allow us inside?"
Ming Yanzi was surprised to hear all this, but shortly Tian Jian returned with a calm face. He sat down on the ground next to them, but did not speak. Ming Yanzi asked, "What did they say?"
Tian Jian looked at Shi Lang and said, "They said these legacies are unusable and if we want to look into any legacy that could be useful, then we can follow them to the Buddhist Shrine in the Dao Plain."
Shi Lang leaned his back against a boulder without surprise, on the other hand, the two gullible children were frowning at the discovery.
After an hour, Shi Lang sighed and said, "Watch and learn kids."
He stood up, sorted his robes and took out his sword. He tied Raksha on his waist and then walked ahead in the direction of the Monk Encampment.
His speed was calm and stable, as if he was walking through the garden. The monks were effected by the will of those above them. However, since they were enamored by a supreme, Shi Lang had the best chance to break the spell on them.
The monks were all wearing a yellow cassock, and they were meditating, while someone was chanting the sutras from the side.
The monks around the shrine detected Shi Lang's arrival. However, unlike the previous person, who was very gentle and well mannered, they were more vigilant, because this man had tied a naked sword on his waist, and as he walked his aura began to climb.
The Terran approached the monks and folded his hands as he said, "Amitabha, Greetings Masters."
The monks were surprised, and Shi Lang went on to ask, "Can you tell me if you were told to come here by a Supreme?"
As soon as he said this, a mark appeared on his forehead. The pressure caused the monks to shiver and they revealed a shocking expression on their faces. They had the urge to bow and kneel, but Shi Lang was no buddha, if they knelt to worship him, their Dao Hearts would be shattered.
Shi Lang waited, but just when one of the monks was about to kneel, he took back his aura and asked, "Why have you come here to obstruct the flow of fate?"
One of the monk took a deep breath and said, "We were commanded by the Supreme Buddha to come here and guard the site as to prevent the fellow humans from going astray."
Shi Lang smiled and asked, "Why do you think they would go astray, Master? Is everyone in the world is destined to walk the path of the Buddha? Even the Buddha himself would not say such a thing, would he?"
His casual remark was like a lash that left gashes on their minds and soul. A wizened voice echoed from inside the shrine, "This patron is correct."
An old monk walked outside of the shrine, and bowed to Shi Lang with cupped hands. The Terran did not stop this man, while the rest of the disciples were shocked. The one closest to the old man wanted to say something, when the old man waved his hands and said, "This patron has just saved us all from committing the biggest sin, the nature manipulation. We should be thankful to him."
The old monk bowed to Shi Lang slightly and said, "I did not expect to come across another Supreme in my lifetime."
Shi Lang waved his hand and asked, "Is the Supreme Buddha manipulating everyone like you? Do you have more people in the Dao Plain?"
The old monk nodded and said, "Patron, do you intend to help us all?"
Shi Lang shrugged and said, "I will help as many as I can, but if someone is deep inside the spell, it will become difficult. I seek your forbearance and understanding."
The monk took a deep breath and said, "This is the price of penance."
Shi Lang basically said that he was going to kill those who did not budge.
