Advent of Cataclysm.

Chapter 18: Call My Name.

Two figures, one male, and the other famale stood behind a screen staring at Kai who was bound to a wall, his hands and legs were encased in spherical shackles that bound them to his elbows and knees, and there was a large chain wrapped around his torso coming from the wall behind him.

"How long has he been in that state?"

"It's better for everyone if he remains like that, Sir."

"When did we start locking up kids like this?"

"He is no child, he is a vessel, if we don't exercise this much restraint then he might go on another rampage, Sir."

"He destroyed the entire east wing of the facility the day after he was brought here using nothing but his bare hands, he could have easily escaped."

"Then what's stopping him from escaping now?" The man pressed his knuckle on the screen and tapped it several times. "He doesn't look like that big of a threat."

"The young woman that we brought with him, we just associated them before as some kind of alliance but the longer we observe the two ot the the more it seems like they are communicating somehow, she is only active when he is awake."

"I can hear you... doctor," Kai spoke up, calmly and slowly raising his head and turning in their direction after growing tired of listening to the two people discuss him. "Where is Ava?" He asked. "Why isn't she here yet?"

The only reason he was speaking now was because it was time for him to eat, he had chewed through the metal gag that they used to bind his mouth the same as he did every other day since he woke up, they had noticed nothing outside of his strength being extraordinary, but Kai was aware that he had gotten stronger.

A week; an entire week had gone by since they took him into the facility, and that entire week had passed without him having an episode at the break of dawn, the result was his strength increasing.

"Why is he blindfolded?"

"His eyes scared the last nine doctors so badly they all resigned the same day baring the full repercussions of their actions rather than even try to explain what happened in there, all they said were His Eyes," The woman continued speaking, her eyes had bags beneath them, and she was wearing a clean lab coat while holding on to a clipboard stacked with notes.

"The truth is, we may not have the manpower or the facilities to keep im here much longer."

"After he found out that the young woman was also held here he gave himself up upon learning she was safe, I thought for a moment he would try rescuing her, but he has been compliant since then.

"No experiments?"

"None, sir, aside from a few samples, he flies into a rage everytime anyone gets near him, my staff are both stressed and terrified, that is why I requested a transfer from my facility to yours, he is too dangerous to be kept above ground." The doctor replied again and sighed. "I just want to work closely with him, that's all." She admitted.

"You can take me wherever you want, as long as Ava comes along." Kai replied to her statement causing the man to look at the woman, shocked.

"Does this thing work both ways?" He asked.

"No, and the room is state of the art soundproof technology as well, but he hears everything regardless, as I said, he is not normal."

"Kai, it's time for you to eat," Someone pushed a trey of food through the opened door and then stood to the side letting another blindfolded captive in and removing the binds from her eyes.

"Ava," Kai's head slightly shifted, struggling against the restraints holding his neck as he attempted to greet her.

"They chained you this time?" She glanced at the people behind herself with guns trained on her back and then turned to him again, resting her hands on the tray and pushing it further in.

"Please stand behind the yellow line when you're feeding him, Ava." The doctor cleared her throat and spoke into the mic.

"My arms aren't that tall." Ava glanced around at the wall and then turned to Kai once more, smiling as she dipped the plastic spoon into the food and took out a chunk, stepping beyond the border stubbornly to get closer to him. "How do you feel, Kai?"

"It feels like I am pinned with anchor chains, honestly," Kai answered her right away. "What about you, they aren't experimenting on you are they?" He asked, already grinding his teeth at the thought.

"No, after they took some samples the first time they have been pretty chill, apparently, I am no threat so they just have me in a cell doing jack shit, andrew is being held right next to me, he's doing okay too, but he won't shut up." Ava chuckled and wiped the food off his mouth, lingering her finger across his lips and smiling when she saw him smile.

"No unnecessary contact,Ava." The doctor ordered through the mic again, and the girl huffed and removed her hand.

"Why is she the one feeding him, as the person responsible for keeping him here she should be kept as far away as possible, hidden someplace he cannot find!" The man next to the doctor spoke up once more staring at the woman with a disappointed gaze.

"We tried that already, as long as she is fine he seems content with his situation enough to not even raise his voice, but when too much time passes he becomes excessively violent and is unapproachable even under those restraints, we allow her to spend thirty minutes every day in there to keep him calm... besides..."

"Besides?" The man raised his brow, wondering what other problem there could have possibly been.

"For some reason, he is aware of every floor every chamber and every room in the facility, even though he has only been to the east wing and here he has complete knowledge of the place even more than I do."

"Is that even..." The man looked through the screen at Kai again, disturbed about that fact. "Thirty minutes is too much..."

"Thirty minutes is far from enough, but as long as she's safe, I don't mind being here, it's better than being out there." Kai answered the conversation from beyond their soundproof walls once more and Ava smiled at him.

"I wish I could see your eyes-"

"No, do not remove those blindfolds!" The doctor snapped grabbing the mic and raising it off the table.

"Just for a moment-"

"I said, don't!!" The woman slammed her hand on an emergency button and almost immediately, the room her and Kai were in became flooded with armed guards training their weapons at her head and back.

"That girl is out of your control, you should terminate her, she is a liability!" The man behind the screen scoffed but went silent and stood there staring when he felt a weight begin pressing against his chest.

"If you dare," Kai growled and shook, rattling the chains and causing the room to tremor with his attempts of breaking free. "If you fucking dare, I'll murder every last one of you!" He exclaimed.

From the back of his throat an inmuman screech echoed throughout the room rattling the guns and casting his shadow across the entire wall behind him, it squirmed like a living breathing being causing the man on the other side of the screen to take a few steps backwards.

"I dare you!" He tugged at the restraint holding his right hand freeing it with one loud and powerful snap, breaking the spherical restreint after a few seconds of struggling and grabbilg hold of the large chain squeezing him onto the wall. "Ava doesn't die-"

"We will indeed kill her, if you continue trying to escape, Kai, regardless of if you kill us all or not, there will be no Ava if you free yourself, are you willing to take that risk?" The doctor spoke calmly and he seemed to switch off like a doll, closing his mouth and relaxing his muscles.

"Remember Kai, you may have leeway and I might listen to some of your requests, but you are still a prisoner here, if you act out of the limits of my patience I will kill her and Andrew," She continued to speak calmly.

"I will restrict your interaction to ten minutes per day after this, Ava, is that understood?"

"Sorry," Ava reached for Kai's hand but was dragged away before she could touch him.

Kai remained quiet afterwards, allowing the experts to restrain him with temporary solutions until they could replace the bind he had broken.

"As you can see, he cooperates simply because of her safety being assured here, or rather, because we have the power to kill her if he acts out of line." The doctor tilted her head and adjusted her glasses.

"So, General, does this case qualify as special enough for you to take us into your care?"

"Indeed it does, can you imagine the power researching him would allow the military to possess?" The man chuckled, placing his hand on the glass and seeing Kai turn his head to it as soon as he did. "With the chaos rising everyday on the outside it's just a matter of time before war breaks out."

"Kai, you must exercise patience."

"How much longer?" Kai replied with a qiestion. .

"What was that?" The General almost snapped in Kai's direction when the young man he had expected to be sleeping spoke again.

"He has been speaking to himself since the moment he first woke up." The doctor answered.

"Hours, Kai, the end is mere hours away; Hél will be set loose upon the world of the living, and all that was... will begin to cease to be."

"When the time is right, I will grant you the power you desire, all you have to do is call upon my name,"

"My name is-"
