Chapter 44 - The Easy-To-Deceive Snake I
The trees and vegetation had just sprouted, and the animals that had gone to spend the winter in distant places had not yet returned.
Wan Zhong only found contraceptive fruits, something he could barely eat, and Xuan Ming didn’t allow him to eat them.
Later, as they wandered through the empty forest, they came to a wide river with a not very fast current.
Xuan Ming smashed his tail down and easily reeled in a long, big fish.
Wan Zhong picked up an angular stone and pressed it against the lively fish before slaughtering it. He casually asked Xuan Ming, “You don’t seem to like killing?”
Xuan Ming, answering all questions about his principles, replied, “It was a taboo for a cultivator is to commit random acts of violence.”
Wan Zhong paused with his hand holding up the stone, “Then does this count as indirect sins?” Without waiting for Xuan Ming to reply, he threw the fish back into the river and lowered his head to untie his shoelaces, saying, “You don’t need to help me catch prey anymore; I can do it myself.”
Wan Zhong was not yet able to fully grasp Xuan Ming’s feelings to him, and he didn’t want to owe him anything anymore, especially since he couldn’t lay eggs and hatch babies for him.
But Xuan Ming happily accepted the implicit love from his partner.
Transforming into a black snake, it swung along the trunk of the tree on the thick, bare branches for a while, twisting its beautiful snake head in front of the mirror, spitting out snake tongue and saying happily:
[Mirror, mirror.]
[Look at his pretentious look, he loves me so much that it’s hard to say what’s in his heart.]
[He refuses to say that he likes me, but in fact, he is always thinking about me in his heart.]
[Oops~]
[I actually understand everything~]
.
Meanwhile, Wan Zhong had tied the two untied shoelaces together and turned them into a long fishing line. He tied one end of the shoelace to a branch that bent toward the water, and hung a simple fishhook made of sharp grass from the other end. He baited the hook with earthworms he dug from the soil and threw it into the water.
While waiting for a fish to take the bait, he used a dagger to chop off some tender branches and followed Xuan Ming’s previous technique of weaving rattan mats. He wove a basket with a thick base and thin sides and placed it in the shallow water on the shore. He sprinkled green grass and mud on top, hoping to lure fat, stupid fish and shrimp.
As Wan Zhong worked, the black snake’s tail hung down from the tall tree trunk, lingering not far behind him.
Every once in a while, Xuan Ming would poke Wan Zhong with the tip of its tail, as if to remind him: The time was up, it was time to look up at the snake.
Wan Zhong sat on the shore and stared at the fishing line. Occasionally, he glanced at Xuan Ming coiled on the branches. The black snake looked at the mirror and he absentmindedly cleaned the mud off her sneakers.
…What should he do to avoid pregnancy?
The best solution was, of course, not to have sex, but that was not possible.
Taking contraceptive fruit was a good idea. But the tree grew too high, and even if there was one around the snake nest, he wouldn’t be able to climb it.
Whenever he thought about being pregnant as a grown man, his scalp would tingle, his spine would go cold, and the hairs all over his body would stand on end. When he imagined being pregnant with a nest full of snakes, he felt even more physically nauseated, his face turned pale, and he vomited on the ground.
“Ugh~!”
His stomach was empty, and he couldn’t vomit anything except sour water, but it excited Xuan Ming on the tree.
It swished to Wan Zhong’s side, wrapping him carefully with its thick black snake body, and resting its big snake head on Wan Zhong’s lower abdomen, its green vertical pupils were wide. It blinked and listened carefully – ‘how many snake eggs are you pregnant with?’
‘Are the babies male or female? And! And! What should we name the pups?’
Their genes were so top-notch and perfect, and its spouse was so good-looking, so the little snakes they had would be round, big, dark, shiny, very beautiful, and lovely eggs.
And the little snake hatched from such an egg, the female snake would surely captivate the whole country and fascinate the six realms. As for the male snake, there was no doubt that it would be a little bit worse than its father.
Xuan Ming seemed to have seen the happy scene of snake cubs crawling in the snake castle.
They must be lively and cute. Some would look like the father and some would resemble Wan Zhong. It would carry its spouse on its back and take the cubs for a stroll in the thousands of miles of back gardens every day. It would also teach them how to identify real gold. Of course, the most important thing was to cultivate the good habit of looking in the mirror from an early age.
Without further ado, Xuan Ming hurriedly spats out snake tongue and asked the mirror.
[Mirror, mirror.]
[Look at the notebook, how many snake eggs are there?]
[I have to prepare a nest for the cubs quickly.]
[There are also the 99999999 rooms filled with gold in the Snake Castle. Are they enough for the snake cubs?]
[Hey ~ What a sweet distress ~]
The black snake felt overwhelmed with worries, and just when it was feeling excited, Wan Zhong poured a basin of cold water on its enthusiasm at night, saying, “I’m fine, I just have a bit of a stomach ache and feel uncomfortable.”
The black snake: “…”
‘Oh~ Am I not working hard enough?’
Note: I am excited for the eggs~
