After Being Reborn, I Refuse To Be The Holy Son Of The Sect Anymore

Chapter 5:

Chapter 5:

Xiao Yang was asking the sect master to expel him from the sect?

The three major figures of the Azure Sun Sword Sect were all stunned.

Junior Sister Jiang Ting was utterly baffled.

Even Qin Fei was taken aback.

“Senior Brother, are you insane?! You’re clearly the one at fault, yet you’re making such a fuss. You’ve truly disappointed me!” Jiang Ting exclaimed angrily.

“Xiao Yang, without the sect’s full support and the countless cultivation resources it has provided you, do you think you would have achieved your current accomplishments?”

“That’s right. Without the sect’s backing, you are nothing,” yelled Elder Lei Lie of the Law Enforcement Hall and Elder Cang Xiao of the Transmission Hall.

The sect had invested so much effort and resources into nurturing him, and instead of repaying the favor, he wanted to leave? How could there be such an ungrateful person?

“Master, I can no longer bear to remain in the sect. Please expel me,” Xiao Yang said decisively.

“Unbelievable!”

Sect Master Jiang Qitian slammed his palm down, shattering the armrest of his throne in rage.

“Everyone, leave. I want to reprimand this rebellious disciple alone!” Jiang Qitian ordered, his piercing gaze fixed on Xiao Yang. A terrifying pressure filled the hall, silencing everyone.

Qin Fei, on the other hand, was secretly delighted. Xiao Yang was practically digging his own grave! Despite being beaten so badly by Xiao Yang, it was worth it if it meant Xiao Yang’s downfall.

The elders left the hall reluctantly.

Two law enforcement disciples carried Qin Fei out on a stretcher.

“Father…” Jiang Ting hesitated, wanting to say something.

“Leave!” Jiang Qitian snapped sternly.

Startled by her father’s uncharacteristic harshness, Jiang Ting shot a cold glare at Xiao Yang, then turned and left the hall as well.

The heavy doors of the grand hall slowly closed.

“Xiao Yang, explain yourself. Why are you doing this?” Jiang Qitian asked coldly.

He had raised Xiao Yang since he was a child and knew him well. The drastic change in Xiao Yang’s behavior over the past few days was deeply troubling, as if he had become an entirely different person.

“The world is vast. I want to go out and see it,” Xiao Yang replied calmly.

“Nonsense! Do you think I would believe that?” Jiang Qitian retorted angrily. After all he had done for Xiao Yang—raising him as his first disciple, treating him like a son, and grooming him to inherit the sect—was this how he repaid him?

Xiao Yang raised his head, locking eyes with Jiang Qitian.

“It’s simple: it’s either me or Qin Fei. You can only keep one of us.”

In his past life, even after losing all hope, a small part of Xiao Yang had still wanted to believe in his master. If Jiang Qitian had expelled Qin Fei, the tragedies of his previous life might never have occurred.

This was Xiao Yang’s last chance for the Azure Sun Sword Sect.

However, Jiang Qitian responded by reprimanding him. “Why are you always targeting Qin Fei? As Senior Brother, where is your tolerance, your magnanimity? When did you become so narrow-minded?”

More accusations.

At that moment, Xiao Yang completely lost faith.

Just like in his past life, Jiang Qitian, Jiang Ting, and even his parents always stood by Qin Fei. They spoke of his tragic background, his parents’ deaths, and how everyone should care for, protect, and love him.

Since Qin Fei’s arrival, Xiao Yang had been neglected, his feelings dismissed as irrelevant.

It was exhausting.

Jiang Qitian continued, “With such a lack of tolerance, how will you ever take my place? Are you jealous of Qin Fei? Jealous of his superior talent? Are you afraid he’ll replace you someday?”

Xiao Yang froze for a moment, then sighed inwardly. So, his master had already foreseen that Qin Fei might replace him.

In his previous life, after battling Qin Fei for a thousand years, everything that had once belonged to Xiao Yang had been taken away, piece by piece.

“Master, since you already know, just let me leave,” Xiao Yang said firmly.

“Impossible! You were born into the Azure Sun Sword Sect, and you’ll die as part of the Azure Sun Sword Sect. You’ll never leave,” Jiang Qitian declared resolutely.

“You’re only keeping me here for the Sixty-Year Grand Competition, aren’t you?” Xiao Yang suddenly asked.

“What…” Jiang Qitian was momentarily stunned.

“On the Yuanwu Continent, the grand competition held every sixty years among the northern sects determines the redistribution of cultivation resources and territorial influence. It’s a matter of the sect’s rise or fall.”

“And right now, I’m the only one in the sect capable of achieving a good result in the competition. Isn’t that true?” Xiao Yang slowly rose to his feet, staring at Jiang Qitian.

“You…” Jiang Qitian was both shocked and furious.

“Master, let’s make a deal. If I win first place in the competition, you’ll let me leave the Azure Sun Sword Sect. How about that?” Xiao Yang proposed seriously.

In his previous life, he had entered seclusion for six months to prepare for the competition after learning that the prize included a breakthrough pill. He had wanted to help Jiang Ting advance in her cultivation.

In the end, he had fought the saintess Li Xingyao of the Fuyao Sword Sect for three days and nights. At the cost of his own life force, he narrowly defeated her to claim first place.

But what he never anticipated was that the pill he had risked his life to win for Jiang Ting was immediately given to Qin Fei.

What he had bled for, Qin Fei received with a single sentence.

When he confronted Jiang Ting, she dismissed his feelings entirely.

“It’s just a breakthrough pill. If you can get one, you can get another.”

“Don’t be so petty. Junior Brother is about to break through. Let him use it first.”

Her words had cut into his heart like knives. Yet, in his previous life, all it took was a bit of Jiang Ting’s pleading for him to forgive her.

He had been nothing more than her loyal, obedient dog.

Now, in this life, not only would he win the competition again, but the pill would be his, for himself.

“Haha…” Jiang Qitian suddenly burst into laughter.

“You want to win the grand competition? That’s a joke! Don’t you know that in a thousand years, the Azure Sun Sword Sect’s best result has been third place? The most recent competition, we only placed seventh. And you think you can take first?”

“Haha…” Jiang Qitian laughed again, shaking his head.

“What if I do take first place?” Xiao Yang asked, his tone unwavering as he looked directly at Jiang Qitian.

“Fine. If you win first place in the competition, not only will I allow you to leave the Azure Sun Sword Sect, but I’ll personally host a farewell banquet in your honor,” Jiang Qitian agreed, though he clearly believed Xiao Yang was being unrealistic.

In Jiang Qitian’s eyes, Xiao Yang stood no chance of succeeding.
