Chapter 3: Chapter 3 The Right Person, The More You Get Along, The More You Like
Gao Jun had sent off Gao Yingying and then opened his running app on his phone.
He planned to jog all the way to the courier station.
In the past two years, the original owner of the body had barely exercised at all.
Having run only about 600 meters, Gao Jun was already gasping for breath.
"This physical condition is really too bad."
Gao Jun clenched his teeth and continued to persevere.
Even if there wasn't this main task from the system, he believed he couldn't continue to decay.
For a woman... it's not worth it!
The distance from the kindergarten to the courier station was just about three kilometers.
By the time he got there, Gao Jun was already drenched in sweat.
His childhood friend Chen Haoran was currently tallying the parcels in each area.
"Singles' Day is coming up soon; there are quite a few parcels, Jun, I'll deliver this batch, you deliver..." Chen Haoran turned around and, seeing Gao Jun drenched in sweat, was somewhat surprised, "Damn, what happened to you?"
"Nothing, just running in the morning. I ran here," Gao Jun explained.
"Impressive! A divorced man starting to discipline himself again!" Chen Haoran laughed loudly, "Go take a shower first. We need to start delivering soon."
"Okay," Gao Jun replied.
After the shower, Gao Jun noticed a change in the system panel's main task.
[Main Task One: Given that the host's mental state and physical fitness have been poor for the past two years, persist in running three kilometers daily for a week to earn a reward of ten thousand yuan.](Completed 1/7)
"It seems to actually work."
Gao Jun was also feeling somewhat expectant.
This way, not only could he train his body, but he could also earn some money and even gain experience to improve his personal attributes and skills.
Three birds with one stone.
Just as he was rolling up his sleeves to load the parcels onto the tricycle, a tall woman stood in front of him.
Her skin was a healthy peach color, smooth and firm, exuding a mature beauty.
Her lips were lightly colored without too much makeup, yet they naturally exuded a simple elegance.
Wearing big black framed glasses, her eyes behind the glasses reflected an indescribable sorrow.
Her long hair flowed down her shoulders like a waterfall, deep in color and naturally without much embellishment.
Gao Jun knew who she was.
It was Liang Yaqi, the wife of the man his ex-wife had an affair with.
She had initially taken the initiative to tell the original owner that her husband might be involved with her partner.
Even though Liang Yaqi was very pretty, with an S-curve figure that caught the eye, even surpassing that of his own ex-wife Gu Feier,
her husband still cheated on her.
It just proved that the grass always looks greener on the other side.
Gao Jun looked into her bewildered eyes and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"My husband said he was going on a business trip today, but I checked his plane and high-speed train ticket information, and he did not book any. Should we go and catch him?" Liang Yaqi seemed to have cried, her voice reflecting bravery yet fear.
She wanted to be brave for once, to see for herself how her despicable husband was cheating.
But she was also afraid.
Because she loved him.
She feared that the scene she would witness could haunt her for life.
Her husband, Lin Chen, was handsome. Even in college, he had been the campus crush.
In an academy where women outnumbered men, he was quite the heartthrob.
Liang Yaqi, with her high beauty and great figure, also had many guys chasing her in college.
But she didn't like any of them, only Lin Chen.
Using her techniques, they smoothly got married.
But unexpectedly, six months ago, she noticed that her husband often went on business trips.
After tailing him once, she found him together with Gu Feier.
Following the clues, Liang Yaqi confronted Gu Feier's husband, Gao Jun.
Perhaps both individuals deeply loved their significant others, even willing to deceive themselves when suspecting potential infidelity.
So, when Liang Yaqi sought out Gao Jun this time, she didn't know whether she had really decided to catch him cheating.
Upon hearing her, Gao Jun said indifferently, "No need, I've divorced her."
"Divorced?"
When Liang Yaqi heard Gao Jun say he was divorced, her face was filled with astonishment.
You have to understand, Gao Jun loved his wife to death.
How could he possibly agree to a divorce?!
"Why did you divorce? How could you divorce? What am I supposed to do if you're divorced?" Liang Yaqi stepped forward, questioning him with a sob in her voice.
She wanted to vent some emotions on Gao Jun, to release the wild thoughts of recent days.
Gao Jun didn't look at her but continued to pack up a parcel and said, "There's no need to struggle so much for someone who doesn't love you. It's better to let go early and start living the life you want. I think you should also let go. Is it worth it to cling to a man who doesn't love you?"
"The life I want..." Liang Yaqi had long known what kind of life she wanted: work during the day, prepare dinner in the evening, and watch a movie with the person she loved.
But those things hadn't come to fruition in a long time.
Liang Yaqi watched him work efficiently, as if the divorce meant nothing to him.
But, he had said before that he would never divorce his wife in this lifetime.
Now that he was divorced, his wife, Gu Feier, must be relieved. Would her own husband ever come back...
"Alright, I need to go deliver parcels. Before I leave, I want to give you a piece of advice."
Gao Jun hadn't wanted to say much, but still, he advised, "Let go. There are many things in this world worth holding on to. Your husband doesn't love you anymore. Leave him sooner rather than later. You can choose someone you like to date, but for marriage, you should choose someone suitable."
"The right person becomes more likable the more you're with them. Being with someone unsuitable only brings more sorrow. Let go."
Having said that, he rode off on his tricycle.
Liang Yaqi was left alone at the door, trying to collect herself.
Gao Jun had communicated what he needed to; whether Liang Yaqi could take that step was no longer his concern.
He spent the day distributing parcels.
He didn't have time to think about marriage and love now, earning money to provide a good life for his daughter was what mattered the most.
Because the kindergarten ended early, Gao Jun always felt like he had just dropped his kid off at school when it was already time to pick her up again.
Arriving at the school, many parents were already waiting at the gate.
Miss Jiang led each child out, greeting the waiting parents.
This semester, more and more fathers were actively picking up their kids because of her involvement.
Gao Yingying sat quietly by the side, waiting for Gao Jun to arrive.
Gao Jun arrived at the wall and saw his daughter through the window, then he called out, "Yingying."
Upon hearing him, Yingying immediately turned around. A smile quickly spread across her previously bored expression, and she packed up her bag and ran out from the classroom, "Daddy!"
Miss Jiang also noticed Gao Jun's arrival and nodded slightly, reporting today's learning progress of Yingying, "Yingying did great today. She can now add numbers up to twenty."
Gao Jun was surprised, "That's impressive?!"
Saying that, he habitually ruffled Yingying's hair.
Yingying looked up happily, almost bragging, "Daddy, look, I'm awesome, right? I think I'm a math genius."
"Being able to add numbers up to twenty makes you a math genius?" Gao Jun chuckled, "There are much harder things to come."
Miss Jiang praised, "Yingying has strong understanding skills. I believe she will definitely be a great student in the future."
"Haha, I hope so. In today's society, ordinary people can only advance through education." Gao Jun also thanked her, "And thanks to Miss Jiang's teachings, I'm very grateful to you."
Upon hearing this, Miss Jiang smiled politely, "It's nothing. As teachers, imparting knowledge, and solving doubts is our duty; besides, with Yingying being so clever, it's hard not to like her."
As the adults chatted amiably, Yingying's little mouth began to stealthily smile, she even covered her mouth, trying not to make a sound.
Fearing she might disturb the grown-ups' conversation.
Gao Jun noticed the little girl's actions and reminded, "Alright, Yingying, say goodbye to your teacher."
"Goodbye, Miss Jiang."
"Goodbye, Yingying."
After they left, Miss Jiang continued to receive other parents.
When she happened to look up, she noticed Yingying across the street, laughing and talking with her father. The scene was tender and moving.
