Chapter 20: Chapter 20: He Doesn't Trust Us
Watching the few people, who were somewhat frightened and stunned, Xiu Nuo did not continue to press them.
"You can take your time to think about it. I'll wait outside for you. I hope I can see some familiar faces outside after five minutes."
Having said that, Xiu Nuo turned and left directly.
Inside the abandoned factory, the five people glanced uneasily at each other.
As an experienced guide who was accustomed to seeing dead bodies, Wang Fugui was the first to react.
He picked up a knife and walked directly to one of the underlings and then plunged the dagger into his heart.
After doing all this, Wang Fugui looked at the others, "Life always involves making choices, but don't blame me for not warning you. Once we take action, we will be the mortal enemies of the entire Blood Skull Society. I had no choice, but you might still have a way to be deported."
Having said that, Wang Fugui also left directly.
"Deported?" Lin Zi saw Wang Fugui leaving and scoffed self-mockingly, "This is Honduras, it would be nice if we could be deported. Deporting us doesn't profit them at all; selling us to those kidney cutters fits the reputation of the city of murder much more."
Upon hearing this, Xiao Rui rushed out without a word, then pulled the knife from that underling and stabbed it into another underling's chest.
Her hands were trembling, but before she could react, Linlin snatched the knife from her hand and screamed as she stabbed the third underling.
After the two of them had finished their deeds, they both sat on the ground somewhat faintly, their pupils slightly dilated and breathing rapidly.
Realizing something, Lin Zi cursed under his breath, "Only the ringleader is left now, that bastard Wang Fugui! He left the most troublesome one for us."
Although he said that, Lin Zi quickly moved forward, took the dagger from Linlin, walked up to Diego, and then plunged it in.
Furthermore, Lin Zi explained, "They must die for us to live. If any of them survives, then we will be the ones to die later."
The already bruised and battered Lin Zi didn't know if he was really trying to survive or venting the anger from being beaten by these people earlier; after stabbing once, he didn't stop but continued stabbing repeatedly.
Finally.
Lin Zi, who was about to raise his hand again, was stopped.
His wrist was gripped by Zhao Hong, an imposing man who calmly looked at Lin Zi, "Enough."
Lin Zi let go of the dagger, his face pale, he looked at Zhao Hong and pulled a smile uglier than crying, "Old Zhao, there's no one left on this side."
"I know," Zhao Hong nodded.
"Good luck, Old Zhao." Lin Zi tried to break free from Zhao Hong's grip and leave, but he found that Zhao Hong, still holding the knife, did not let go.
Lin Zi looked at Zhao Hong in confusion.
"Thanks," Zhao Hong looked at Lin Zi, his expression cold and terrifying, "Thanks for picking me up on the way, saving me a lot of trouble. Also, thanks for making the choice for me."
Lin Zi suddenly realized something was wrong.
The very next moment, the dagger fiercely plunged into Lin Zi's heart.
Seeing this scene, Linlin and Xiao Rui instantly turned pale with fear. They could never have imagined that Zhao Hong would turn on his own people!
Moreover, Zhao Hong's technique was terrifyingly proficient.
Zhao Hong dropped Lin Zi, who was wearing a look of disbelief, like one would drop a dead dog.
Then, he turned his gaze to the two women and spoke, "Don't worry, the number is enough."
"You... why did you kill him?" Xiao Rui asked courageously.
"Isn't everyone done?" Zhao Hong said calmly, "You acted too quickly."
"You could also have..." Linlin was about to say something but her brain, heightened by extreme fear, lit up, "You... did it on purpose."
"He needs our leverage," Zhao Hong said, wiping the blood off his hands. "Only then can we survive. I can give him my leverage, but I don't want to mess with this group of drug dealers. I've killed people, he knows that, but not drug dealers. Girls, choices are important, aren't they?"
The two women remained silent.
"Let's go," Zhao Hong said coldly, holding a dagger. "Time to go meet our new boss."
When Zhao Hong and the two girls came out, they saw Xiu Nuo waiting at the factory gate, with Wang Fugui desperately staring at the sky beside him.
Seeing the three coming out, Xiu Nuo's gaze fixed only on Zhao Hong. "Where's Lin Zi?"
"Dead, I killed him," Zhao Hong replied.
Xiu Nuo, not at all surprised, shrugged. "People are about to arrive."
As he spoke, a car drove up, Xiu Nuo noticed it was a different one.
Jonas got out of the car and sighed helplessly at the sight of the people at the door, "Boss, it seems you didn't take my advice, did you?"
"They are going with me to America," Xiu Nuo said with a smile. "Take them away first, I'll find you in an hour."
"There's no hour left, the police will be here in fifty minutes."
"That's enough."
"Alright. You're the boss, I listen to you," Jonas said and looked at the others, clapped his hands, and announced, "Alright, everyone, get in the car! I declare, from this moment, you are safe!"
Watching the car drive away, Xiu Nuo walked back into the factory to collect his own spoils of war.
With his prior experience, Xiu Nuo was no longer prepared to turn these people directly into mummies, at least not without giving them the semblance of a corpse.
Inside that car.
Looking at Jonas driving, Zhao Hong said to Wang Fugui, "He was with those drug dealers before."
Wang Fugui nodded. "I noticed."
"Hey, can we speak in English?" Jonas, overhearing them, couldn't help but interject. "We're all in the same boat now, how about someone translates for me?"
"Tell him," Zhao Hong said. "Xiu Nuo has his reasons for us following him."
Wang Fugui immediately translated.
Jonas smirked and couldn't help but say, "Our boss sure is a bit too cunning, isn't he! Oh, don't worry, folks; I don't want to die either, at least not before you make it to America. Because if something happens to you, I'm done for too."
"Why?" Wang Fugui asked, puzzled.
"Don't you get it?" Jonas said with a tone full of helplessness. "The boss doesn't trust me, nor you, or I should say, doesn't fully trust us. Damn, he has all these means, yet he still doesn't trust. I underestimated him."
Seeing Wang Fugui still looking confused, Jonas explained, "I was Diego's partner, but now all those who knew I was following Diego to find you are dead except for the boss and you. And you, you're the killers who killed Diego and the others. The only ones who know about this besides the boss are me. So, get it?"
"You, you're an insurance for the boss to control me. I, I'm also an insurance for the boss to control you. It's mutual restraint, right?"
Xiao Rui didn't catch on at first, but after hearing Wang Fugui's translation, she quickly said, "Then, can we cooperate?"
No sooner had she spoken than the three men's gazes turned towards her. Wang Fugui even translated for her.
"Did I... say something wrong?"
"I can't possibly trust you," Jonas said coldly. "Translate that to this foolish woman."
After Wang Fugui translated, Zhao Hong added, "Funny, I feel the same."
Hearing the translation, Jonas laughed suddenly, "So, let's just wish us a pleasant collaboration, folks. Although I'm always ready to kill you!"
