Hyacinth POV

I woke up in a hospital bed with Sirius at my bed side, it looked like he hadn't left for even a moment. I looked at him and asked, "How long have I been asleep?"

Sirius looked relieved to see me awake and said, 'Almost 3 days they have kept you asleep so that they could heal you faster." I was shocked by that and said, "What all needed to be healed I shouldn't have been that bad." 

Sirius sighed and took my hand in his and for once I didn't shy away from touch I felt safe with him here and I started to tear up at the thought. I was safe and its was in part because of this man, my godfather. "You had a lot of past improperly healed injuries that they needed to heal pup. Your all good now not even a scar to be seen except the one on your forehead but we will be fixing that as soon as we can get out of here. I am so sorry i couldn't get to you sooner pup, your dad is gonna have my ass when I die. Your mom will kill me again if she can find a way." He said with a barking laugh and tears in his eyes. 

"You knew my parents?" I asked and then thought of course he did or he wouldn't be my godfather, "That was a stupid question you don't have to answer."

Sirius squeezed my hand and said, "Yes, pup I knew James and Lily. James was my brother in all but blood and Lily was an amazing witch and woman who kept us boys in line. She was your fathers world until they found out about you. I remember the stupid grin that he had on his mug when he told me I was going to be a godfather. I remember Lily smiling when she saw James' reaction to the news. If not for the war he would have put out and announcement in the Daily Profit."

He had a nostalgic expression on his face as he said this and I felt the tears flow down my face as I thought of all the missed opportunities to be loved. Sirius saw my tear and said, "Don't cry pup I am here for you. I would like to adopt you if your ok with it. James and Lily had approved of that before they went into hiding. I'm just sorry it took so long for me to do this for you. I would like to be your second Dad if you will let me pup. I love you prongslett always have ever since Lily placed you in my arms, and I always will. You are my reason for going on pup never forget you are loved. James and Lily loved you with their entire selves and I love you with mine."

I was a blubbering mess by the time he finished but managed to say, "Can I call you Dad?"

He flung his arms around my shoulders and pulled me to his chest as he said, "I would like that very much pup. Now why don't we blow this popsicle stand and go get this adoption over with. I don't want to waste another not being your dad." My smile was heartfelt for the first time since I got Hedwig last year. "Yea, Dad lets go." 

Dad let out a deep laugh as he held me close kissed my head and left to sign the paperwork for me to leave. All I could think about was that I had a family that wanted me and Dad that would protect me and I couldn't be more happy in this moment than I am.

At Gringotts 

We walked into Bloodfang's office and as soon as we sat down Dad said, "I need a cleansing ritual for Hyacinth and a blood adoption potion as well. The adoption potion should just add a parent and not overwrite existing parentage."

Bloodfang smiled and said, "It is nice to finally meet the young Lady Potter." I looked at him confused, "I'm sorry I didn't know that your were trying to contact me let alone that I had an account manager." He looked angered by my statement but said nothing to me. Instead he said, "Lord Black here has communicated he want to formally adopt you as he blood heir. Am I correct in assuming that this is what you wish to happen as well?" 

"Yes, I would like to finally have a family that actually cares about me." Bloodfang nodded and the brought out a potion. He handed a silver dagger to Dad who takes it and slices his middle left finger allowing 4 drops to fall into the bottle. Dad hands me the dagger and says, "3 drops pup." I do as I'm told following Dad's actions as a guide and once done had the dagger back to Bloodfang. Bloodfang then seals the bottle and places it in a runic circle and it glows. He pulls it out and puts it aside before saying, "I think we should do the cleansing first just incase you wind up adopting the attachment as well Lord Black." Dad sighs and says, "You are probably right." I look at them confused for a second before Dad explains all that is going on and I am furious. "I want it out." I demand "NOW!" I scream before Dad wraps me in a hug and says, "We are going to do that Follow Healer Lightfoot to the Cleansing Chamber and I will be waiting right outside. I can't go in but I will be there. I'm not gonna lie it's going to hurt pup but it has to be done." I nod at him with tears in my eyes. and follow the goblin Healer out. 

Dad didn't lie it was excruciatingly painful and the scream that came from the black mist was chilling as it left my body. I felt lighter and it was as if my magic flowed more freely through my body. I could feel the strength of it almost as if it were galloping with joy. I couldn't help but smile at Dad when I saw him and ran into his waiting arms. 

"Now for the adoption potion" Bloodfang said handing the potion over to me. I swallowed it without any hesitation. It left a warm sensation in my chest and made me sleepy I slumped into Dad's side as I fell asleep.
