Chapter : Prologue
In a world ravaged by a mysterious virus or curse, humanity struggles to survive against an onslaught of horrors. The year is 2021, and in the wake of the outbreak, 80% of the population has been claimed by the relentless spread of the undead. The origin of the virus remains unknown, and its insidious nature has left the world in despair. Those who succumb to its effects become mindless zombies, driven by base desires, fears, and the absence of health, losing all semblance of their former selves.
But in the third year, a glimmer of hope arises. As humanity teeters on the edge of extinction, survivors begin to develop extraordinary powers—abilities that defy the laws of nature itself. These powers, ranging from Telekinesis and Pyrokinesis to Chronokinesis and Matter Manipulation, offer a chance at survival, but they come at a cost. Some individuals, known as mutants, either embrace or reject these powers, forming two distinct factions: the Aegis, who aim to protect humanity, and the Harbingers, whose dark ambitions threaten to reshape the world.
The struggle for survival is no longer just against the undead, but also against the corrupted ambitions of powerful mutants who rise to positions of authority, using their powers to further their own desires. Ministers, once symbols of hope, now twist into figures of tyranny, consumed by their unchecked thirst for power.
At the heart of this fractured world stands a group of eight chosen individuals, sent on a perilous mission to uncover the truth behind the virus and its origins. Among them is Jang Hwa-young, a young woman who begins to question the very nature of their reality. She discovers that she alone has a status screen—a mysterious and inexplicable phenomenon that hints at a deeper truth. Hwa-young remains steadfast in her conviction that the world they live in is not what it seems.
Amid the chaos of monsters, superpowered mutants, and hidden agendas, these eight individuals must navigate a dangerous world of shifting alliances and life-or-death missions. But they must also grapple with their own identities, as the line between humanity and monstrosity becomes increasingly blurred. as they confront the ultimate question: Is this a battle for survival, or is it something far darker?
