Are You Crazy? You’re Telling Me This Is a Fugitive TV Show?

Chapter 106 Targeting Nancheng Bank, Turning Nancheng into Gotham

“This is going to be sick!”

“Oh, man, oh man. I can’t wait to see that!”

“Are you serious? Teams of elites from over a dozen countries to take on Big Brother Wang Yun?”

“666! 666! I thought the current team assembled by the program was already overwhelming for Big Brother, but it turns out the real onslaught hasn’t even started!”

“Elite teams from over a dozen countries, each acting independently to capture Wang Yun, this is…?”

“This feels like a movie plot where Big Brother gets some rare treasure and is chased by more than a dozen forces!”

“Can it get any more intense?”

Upon hearing the news revealed by Director Fang, the audience was visibly shocked. The Skynet Operation was moving toward a clash of elite forces from various nations.

“Now, since Wang Yun has not been captured yet, the plan is to apprehend him first!”

“Top inspectors from over a dozen countries?”

“Is it going to be that intense?”

“Imagine all these powers chasing after Wang Yun, what else can you say but 666?”

***

“Really, Director Fang? Is it going to be that intense?” asked Shen Hao, his face filled with shock.

“Absolutely,” Director Fang replied with a smile. “If Wang Yun is not captured in the next few days, we can expect the arrival of these elites. Then it will truly be interesting, with audiences from other countries tuning into the live broadcast.”

“This… I’m really looking forward to seeing how many days Wang Yun can hold out,” said Liu Qingqing, her delicate face filled with shock and disbelief.

“It’s hard to say, but facing off against teams from over a dozen forces, it’s definitely going to be hellishly difficult for Wang Yun,” Shen Hao said.

Being hunted by over a dozen entities would undoubtedly pose a big challenge. However, at this moment, Wang Yun was unaware of the impending pursuit by elite teams from various nations.

After leaving the Nanshan Ju community, he headed straight to another guesthouse. He chose the simplest kind, the ones that didn’t require an ID card for check-in. Even though his current ID had been exposed, it wouldn’t be a problem under these circumstances. The only risk was if the program inspection team issued a wanted notice with their faces, but Wang Yun and his team would be promptly informed about such a move, especially since he had already instructed Brother Hu to keep an eye on this matter.

“Boss!”

Upon arriving at the guesthouse where Brother Hu and the others were staying, they greeted him respectfully.

“Eliminated fifteen of them,” Wang Yun said with a smile, taking a seat.

“Boss is awesome,” Brother Hu flattered, looking at Wang Yun. “Now that our disguises are exposed, what’s our next move?”

“First, we take our revenge on Nancheng Bank,” Wang Yun replied, his eyes narrowing.

“You lead the way, Boss, we’ll follow,” Brother Hu and the others immediately responded.

Wang Yun nodded, his face thoughtful. There were two ways to strike at a bank. One was to directly go to a bank branch and start an armed robbery. That way, stealing a million wouldn’t be a problem.

The second option was to target the headquarters of Nancheng Bank, where there would be at least several hundred of million in cash.

For Wang Yun, striking a branch was not his main goal. Snatching a mere million and risking exposure seemed pointless. Moreover, he was intrigued to test the bank’s claim of being unbreakable.

However, infiltrating the headquarters of Nancheng Bank and getting away with hundreds of million was not something that could be accomplished quickly. And even if he managed to steal hundreds of millions in cash, how would he transport it away? This was a significant problem.

Furthermore, there was the critical issue of snipers and helicopters.

Escaping with such a large sum would undoubtedly take time, enough for the program inspection team to arrive.

Then, how would he evade the pursuit of snipers and helicopters? Especially the snipers, as once they took position on high ground, their accuracy in eliminating targets was extremely high. The threat posed by snipers was even greater than that of helicopters. Without dealing with the snipers first, attacking the Nancheng Bank headquarters was out of the question.

“I must take care of the snipers first,” Wang Yun contemplated.

Their threat was too significant and needed to be neutralized as a priority. But how to deal with them?

This was an incredibly challenging issue. In guerrilla warfare, snipers wouldn’t be deployed, only in situations like the one in Nanshan Ju community. But back in Nanshan Ju, he hadn’t anticipated snipers and was unprepared.

How could he lure them out again to deal with them?

Wang Yun’s eyes flickered as he pulled out his laptop and immediately began searching for Nancheng Bank’s branches. Snipers would only be deployed if they were in action. Thus, the only way to draw them out was to stage a heist.

With a plan forming in his mind, Wang Yun started gathering information and preparing his scheme.

“I’m stepping out for a bit. Keep an eye out for any rewards posted by the program task force,” he instructed Brother Hu and the others after searching on his computer for about half an hour.

Then, he headed outside.

Wang Yun didn’t take the remaining two disguise masks with him. Instead, he entered a store, bought a hat, and some makeup, applying it lightly. This makeup, unless inspected closely, wouldn’t reveal his identity.

After a basic disguise, Wang Yun took a taxi to scout the location.

“Production team, I’m planning a move on Nancheng Bank. Make the necessary arrangements on your end.”

He had to inform them of his plan to rob the bank, to ensure their cooperation. Pretending to rob the bank with a fake gun? It was laughable.

Having shared his plan with the program team, Wang Yun awaited their response.

“Alright,” came the reply from the production team, not particularly surprised by his plan.

“Call Nancheng Bank and let them know Wang Yun is planning a move on their bank. They’ll surely be thrilled,” the executive producer instructed one of the staff members.

“Yes,” the staff member nodded and immediately dialed the chairman of Nancheng Bank.

The Skynet Operation program had previously collaborated with Nancheng Bank, and one of the new members of the program task force, Hong Jian, was associated with Nancheng Bank.

The bank had once advertised on the show. This single advertisement, costing the bank tens of millions, was incredibly effective, boosting Nancheng Bank’s market value by 10%. Considering that Nancheng Bank, though not a national-level bank, had a market value of no less than 10 billion, a 10% increase was a significant gain.

Meanwhile, at the headquarters of Nancheng Bank in the city center, a luxurious building befitting a banking group with a market value in the tens of billions, the middle-aged chairman received a call from the Skynet Operation production team. Upon hearing the news, he instantly stood up, his eyes shining with excitement.

“Producer Song, are you saying Wang Yun is targeting our Nancheng Bank?” the chairman asked, trying to contain his excitement.

“Yes, Chairman Liu, would Nancheng Bank be willing to cooperate with us?” asked the staff member from Skynet Operation with a smile.

“Of course, no problem at all. Nancheng Bank will fully cooperate. Moreover, all the money Wang Yun robs from our bank will be covered by us,” the chairman of Nancheng Bank quickly assured.

He was well aware of just how popular the Skynet Operation program had become.

At the moment, getting an advertisement slot on the Skynet Operation program wasn’t just a matter of price. If an enterprise didn’t rank within the top 100 in the country, dreaming of advertising on the dow would be far-fetched.

Additionally, previously, the Lingzhu Jewelry Group’s market value doubled because of the Skynet Operation program and Wang Yun. This surge in value happened just because Wang Yun stole a necklace from them.

For Nancheng Bank, becoming a target of Wang Yun was a golden opportunity for publicity.

‘As Hong Jian said, Wang Yun is a person who never forgets a grudge. When the task force asked two million, we immediately recorded all the serial numbers of the bills. As predicted, Wang Yun is likely seeking revenge, and we guessed right,’ thought the middle-aged chairman.

“Now that Wang Yun has set his sights on our Nancheng Bank, as long as we handle everything correctly, it can serve as a major promotional boost for us,” the chairman’s eyes sparkled with excitement as he picked up the phone to call a meeting.

For Nancheng Bank to capitalize on this situation, they needed to ensure two things.

One, to exhibit a textbook response during the bank robbery. And two, to ensure that the money in the bank’s headquarters remained secure and safeguard customer interests.

The second point was crucial as the bank had initially promoted its robust security. The chairman believed this would be easy to achieve. In his view, bank robberies, though rare, still occur worldwide.

But to say someone could rob tens of millions or even hundreds of millions from a bank’s headquarters was pure fantasy, only seen in movies.

The defense system, security system, and vaults of banks were among the highest grades in the world. Take the massive and secure vaults, for instance. They’re simply unbreakable. Even explosives couldn’t open them without the password.

Therefore, the chairman wasn’t worried about the bank’s security at all. At most, they might be threatened into giving out a few million for Wang Yun to rob, which, in exchange for such publicity, was like striking a jackpot.

It was a pie falling from the sky.

“Executive Producer, Nancheng Bank agreed and said they would fully cooperate. They will also bear the cost of the money stolen,” the subordinate producer said with a smile after hanging up the phone in the program studio.

“They would naturally agree. This is great news for Nancheng Bank,” the executive producer chuckled.

No enterprise could refuse the publicity from their top-rated program.

“Wang Yun, everything is set with Nancheng Bank. They will fully cooperate,” the executive producer informed Wang Yun.

Now, this man was like their god of wealth, even more important than their own brothers.

“Hmm,” Wang Yun nodded with a smile upon receiving the executive produce’s message.

He was standing at a Nancheng Bank branch, meticulously surveying the surroundings. He then moved to a higher position for a better overview, noting down everything around him.

Half an hour later, Wang Yun left and headed to the next branch. In this manner, Wang Yun visited each branch one by one, continuing until the evening. All the information and data about every Nancheng Bank branch were imprinted in his mind.

Meanwhile, at the program task force’s headquarters, the five Captains sat with grim expressions in a room, along with twelve newly joined experts. Everyone looked troubled.

“Wang Yun possesses strong anti-tracking abilities. Should we issue a warrant for his arrest?”

Though they didn’t encounter any more traps and no more inspection team members had died after the incident at Nanshan Residential Area, their effort was in vain. Wang Yun and his team had already left the scene.

This operation resulted in the loss of fifteen program officers, a heavy toll indeed. So far, the number of inspection team members lost to Wang Yun had reached sixty to seventy, a figure that alarmed them.

After the inspection team returned, they immediately reviewed the surveillance footage, but despite using the Skyeye system, they still couldn’t find Wang Yun and his team. Now, to quickly find Wang Yun, there was only one viable option left–a bounty. Targeting seven people, including Wang Yun, had big chances of locating them.

“Let’s issue it tomorrow morning,” said Kolyev, sitting thoughtfully. “During the night, it’s more advantageous for Wang Yun to set up traps. For our next arrest, we should try to arrange it during the daytime.”

Indeed. Now, they harbored some fear regarding Wang Yun’s traps. His unpredictable tactics and terrifying killing intent had left them in a state of shock and helplessness. Upon issuing the warrant, Wang Yun would surely become aware of it, and he could still set traps accordingly.

It was safer during the day, with better visibility and a higher chance of detecting traps. Nighttime operations were too risky.

“Alright, we’ll do it tomorrow morning,” agreed Captain Wu Mingyu.

Daytime was somewhat safer. They were genuinely afraid.

“Let’s all rest for today and continue our efforts tomorrow,” Kolyev stood and said slowly, “We’ll learn from our failures. The moment Wang Yun fails even once, it will be his doom.”

“Agreed!”

The others nodded heavily, their spirits slightly lifted, especially for experts Hao Jiancheng and Wu Hua. Today had been a massive blow to them. They were now determined to redeem themselves.

As another day quickly passed, the night remained calm.

The following morning, Wang Yun left the hostel early. When he returned, he was driving a BMW X6M, a performance SUV. As for how he got the car, it was simple for Wang Yun with his expert lock-picking skills. Today, he was ready to take action.

His target: the snipers.

“Brother Hu, take three people and arm yourselves. Come with me. The other two, find a place to hide and wait for our message,” Wang Yun instructed.

“Understood, Boss!” Brother Hu and the others quickly nodded and got into the car. They closed the doors.

Wang Yun settled into the driver’s seat and popped a piece of chewing gum into his mouth.

‘Purchase: God-level Driving Skills.’

He immediately spent one million shock value points to acquire a god-level skill. The sound of the high-performance car’s engine roared to life, and Wang Yun’s eyes blazed with intense fervor.

“Heh,” he chuckled softly.

Today, he planned to unleash his fury without restraint. He intended to show everyone a level of wildness and brutality that could rival the notorious outlaws of the ’80s and ’90s.

He was determined to turn Nancheng into Gotham – a symbol of his unbridled rampage!
