Aria Of The Cursed Dragon

Chapter 14: 14. The Aria XI

" Goddess? " Siegfried said in a surprised tone as he felt the familiar embrace.

That voice belonged to one of the most important people in his life, how could he not recognize her when she meant so much to him?

When he was at his lowest, her presence guaranteed he remained sane.

Siegfried always knew the cold hard truth that other than his adopted father he had no one to call family.

His mother already started a new family and none of his half-brothers would acknowledge him as family. He wondered if his mother even cared about him.

Thus after finding out that his father never cared about him, he was devastated, he would have gone berserk that day if not for her.

He didn't know how or why she came to him, but he was grateful to her. He idolised and cherished her from the moment he met her.

To him she was an unattainable dream, he was flattered that she would take time out of her day to spend it with him.

She would always have a cold countenance but he was fine with that as he understood that was her usual demeanour.

To him, she was a constant beacon of warmth that kept him going, no matter how cold she appeared, she provided warmth to his life.

She was the person he was most indebted to..... after all she was his Goddess.....

.....

" You didn't call me..." Skadi's soft but cold voice was heard.

Although her tone sounded cold as usual, Siegfried could detect a hint of displeasure in it.

"I-I " Siegfried faltered a bit as he didn't know what to say, he had a feeling that no matter what he said he would end up offending her thus he opted to stay silent.

"Hmph" Skadi coldly snorted as she didn't get any answer from him.

She tightened her hug while biting his shoulder causing him to grunt...

...

Siegfried leaned his back against a flat rock on the shallow parts of the lake with a wry smile on his face feeling the light sting on his shoulder.

He gazed at his brooding goddess from the corner of his eyes causing his lips to twitch a little.

Suddenly he felt a slight pain on his cheek causing him to turn around and come face to face with Skadi glaring at him.

" What are you smiling for?" Skadi asked while she had a pout on her face.

" It's just ... you seem much more expressive than before goddess" Siegfried said with a happy smile on his face which caused Skadi to be momentarily taken back before she increased the force of her pinch causing him to wince in pain.

" Ouch! "

" Hmph! Cheeky " Skadi muttered as she closed her eyes and laid her head on his shoulder after casting a spell that would raise the temperature of the water so it wouldn't be uncomfortable for him.....

....

" What do you mean by the shadow of war, Goddess? " Sieg asked in confusion as he was sitting beside Skadi who seemed to looking through a tome to pass her time.

" ....It's exactly that....., A huge war is going to engulf the continent. Be prepared..... and try to stay out of it " Skadi said in her usual cold tone but there was a hint of concern in it which Siegfried detected and it warmed his heart.

In his life, he had never received much care from anyone other than the Goddess standing before him.

He had known her from a young age, she was always quietly watching over him, when he asked her why, she told him he was very peculiar for a mortal and it amused her.

Whatever it may be he only knew that she was there for him, when his father tried to kill him and he butchered him in return she was there to comfort him after he broke down.

She may exude the coldest aura but to him, she was warmer than any person he knew.

He never thought to take liberties with her as in his mind she was always his Goddess, even when she acted close to him he always tried to not offend her.

He didn't want her to feel disgusted by him, he was attracted to her physically so it was a very tough challenge to hide his physical reactions but it seemed she didn't seem to mind which was lucky for him but he didn't try to do anything inappropriate.

But what Siegfried didn't know was that his Goddess did want him to be Inappropriate, What kind of Goddess would let someone take so many liberties, a mortal much less a god.

She herself didn't know why she was doing it as whenever she was in his presence her cold heart couldn't but beat a bit faster.

She became obsessed with him before she knew it, from a random interesting mortal to 'Her Mortal ' , to her Siegfried.

When she knew of his involvement with Brynhildr she had half a mind to make her an ice sculpture but she decided against it as that would make Siegfried hate her.

She was disappointed that he wouldn't try to do anything even when she was naked in front of him, and the countless times she embraced him letting him feel the warmth from her cold body, the softness of her curves.

Yet he remained respectful, Skadi decided to be patient and since he was a mortal once he died he would go to Valhalla that would be her opportunity.....
