Arknightcraft Modpack (Steve in Terra) (Minecraft x Arknight)

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Feeling Not Bad

After clarifying what he needed to do next, Steven finally let go of his worries.

He initially thought it would be a world of high magic and martial prowess, but from what he understood, most of the characters in the game "Arknights" were still at a fairly low level.

In other words, with his current physical fitness, even without using various mods, he should be able to handle many events easily.

Of course, trying to become a dominant figure in this world would probably be too much for him.

In reality, his understanding of this world was not deep, and the world of "Arknights" itself was still in the early version of the game when he left, so there's a huge chance that it went through a lot of updates, so there might be unexpected surprises.

It's better for him not to be too arrogant.

Suddenly, a strange noise interrupted his thoughts.

He first checked his own hunger level and then looked at the girl lying in the bed.

It seemed that he needed to deal with the matter of his "daughter" before joining "Rhodes Island."

He checked his inventory and found only a few raw potatoes.

Steven scratched his head.

There was no furnace to bake potatoes here, and feeding raw potatoes to a sick person seemed a bit cruel.

Maybe he should see if there's any other food in this village.

At the very least, he could bring some coal back and cook the potatoes himself.

It would also allow him to taste the local cuisine, as he was tired of eating things like cooked potatoes in Minecraft.

As he prepared to look for the old village chief he had met before, Steven found that he couldn't pull his hand out from under the girl's small face.

Although the girl had lost her memory, her grip was surprisingly strong, firmly holding onto his hand.

It wasn't that Steven was weaker than her, but forcibly pulling his hand away might hurt her.

He wanted to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Moreover, the feeling of being relied upon by someone was something Steven hadn't experienced in a long time in his solitary life in Minecraft.

It wasn't too bad.

Helplessly, he squatted down and gently stroked the girl's slightly panicked head after he withdrew his hand. A faint smile appeared on Steven's lips.

If this girl knew that he had touched her head like this during her amnesiac period, she would probably be furious, wouldn't she?

Steven didn't know what the original personality of this girl named Gladiia was like, but judging from her cool and stylish outfit and the proud and cold look in her eyes when she was awake, it was easy to infer that she probably wasn't as soft and cute as she appeared now.

"Oh, right, I should get you some different clothes. This outfit is a bit... Well, it's beautiful but not really suitable for daily wear."

Looking at the girl's snug, white bodysuit and long pants that looked more like lingerie hidden under the cool cape, Steven couldn't help but comment on how contemporary mobile game character designers seemed to excel in creating costumes.

Wouldn't people feel awkward wearing such revealing clothes as their everyday attire?

At least Steven didn't want to go around with the most eye-catching person in the crowd.

After calming down the obviously insecure girl, Steven was about to pull her blanket up a bit when his movements suddenly stopped.

It wasn't because he had a sudden rush of lustful thoughts. It was because the girl's sleeping posture had shifted her collar, exposing her fair and slender neck and a conspicuously unusual area on top of it.

Under the originally flawless fair neck, a few scale-like patterns had grown abruptly, with a strange grayish color that looked as if it had been infected by some strange pathogen, making it ugly and daunting.

Fortunately, Steven was not concerned about this kind of thing, so after his initial surprise, he voluntarily extended his hand and gently touched the strange scales.

The texture was smooth, similar to the scales of ordinary fish or reptiles, but growing on a human's body made it look peculiar.

Considering that in this world, most people seemed to have all sorts of strange features, a few fish scales didn't seem out of place.

Steven had initially thought to leave it at that. After all, this was her own privacy, and it wouldn't be polite to meddle with it while she was suffering from amnesia.

However, he soon realized why he found these scales strange. In his eyes, they had too many similarities to the scales on the monsters he had personally slain from the depths of the ocean.

Furthermore, they had referred to the girl as a "kin" of those creatures. It was hard for Steven not to make some strange connections, like a certain card game with a favorite setting called "Enemy and Ally Are of the Same Origin."

Would this adopted daughter he had picked up turn into an ugly creature in the end?

That wouldn't be fun at all.

"I should wait until she regains her memory to think about these things. After all, this is her body, and she should make the decisions."

Steven knew that there was a solution for these scales, and as long as someone was alive and breathing, there were no insurmountable problems in his eyes.

Of course, that was under the condition of activating his stack of various mods.

For now, Steven had to hide his doubts and speculations until the girl regained her memories, and then he could have a conversation with her.

Steven was the one who had caused her amnesia, so he would definitely take responsibility for her and for what he had done. That had always been his guiding principle in life.

As for what would happen after she woke up, that wasn't something Steven needed to worry about.

After all, he had only caused her amnesia, and other matters were not his concern.

After helping the girl adjust her collar to conceal the strange scales, Steven stood up, opened the door, and walked out of the room.

First, he needed to fill his stomach. He could think about other things later.

But as soon as he opened the door, his gaze met with a few suspicious figures approaching his room.

Their eyes locked onto each other.

"Do you need something from me? Or would you like to come in for a chat?"
