Chapter 25: A New black figure
**Earth-66, 2012**
Inside the museum, chaos erupted as the robbers aimed their guns at the frightened students, teachers, and staff.
In a matter of seconds, everyone complied, raising their hands in the air and kneeling down. The lead robber barked orders while the others began grabbing valuable items from the displays.
One of the robbers roughly shoved a museum staff member toward the wall. "Call the police," he demanded, "and tell them we want money in exchange for these hostages."
Peter who is kneeling next to Gwen, glanced at the scene with a faint smirk.
Gwen knows that smirk and her voice echoed in his mind, 'What are you thinking, Peter? Don't do anything stupid. We need a plan to attack.'
'Relax,' he replied through their mental link. 'I have a plan. Just watch the show.'
To Gwen's dismay, Peter stood up with casual demeanor stark against the tense atmosphere. One of the robbers immediately noticed him and pointed his gun.
"Hey, kid!" the man shouted while stepping closer. "I'm only going to say this once. Hands in the air and get back on your knees!"
Peter chuckled and put his hands in his pockets. "You know," he said with a smirk, "you sound more like a cop than a robber right now."
"Peter, sit down!" hissed their teacher, Mr. Robert who is few feet away in panicked tone.
The robber reached Peter with the barrel of his gun now mere inches from Peter's head. "Kneel. Or. Die," the man growled.
Peter tilted his head slightly and looked behind the robber from his shoulders, "You should really watch your back," he said calmly.
Confused by the statement, the robber turned his head—and froze.
Hanging upside down behind him was Spider-Man who waved cheerfully. "Hey there, folks!" he quipped. "Mind if I crash your little party? I know I wasn't invited, but I couldn't resist."
Unbeknownst to the robbers, Peter had separated a portion of his symbiote earlier, camouflaging it and send it to the roof.
Now fully transformed, it had taken on the appearance of Spider-Man and hang upside down from the roof.
"Get him!" the leader barked. The other robbers turned their weapons toward the hero began to fire.
Spider-Man flipped and spun through the hail of bullets with effortless agility, disarming each robber with quick webs and precise strikes.
Within minutes, five of the six men were webbed up and dangling from the ceiling like oversized piñatas.
The leader, realizing his gang was incapacitated, grabbed Peter as a hostage. Pressing the gun against Peter's temple, he shouted, "You think this is over? We planned this for weeks! We're not going down without a fight!"
Peter smirked. "Man, you've got the worst luck. Seriously, if there were a prize for bad luck, you'd be the reigning champ."
Spider-Man who is now hanging upside down nearby, shook his head, "Yeah, bad luck is kinda your thing, isn't it?"
Before the leader could respond, Peter moved. He grabbed the man's wrist with one hand, twisted the gun away, and delivered a sharp elbow strike to his stomach. The man gasped in pain, but Peter wasn't done. He stomped on the robber's foot, swept his leg, and slammed him to the ground in a single, fluid motion.
"That's game over for you," Peter muttered while pinning the man down.
Spider-Man swung down, webbing the leader and securing the gun. In moments, the last of the robbers was cocooned in webs, suspended alongside his accomplices.
"Nicely done, kid," Spider-Man said while pretending to address Peter. "But next time, let me handle it, okay?"
Gwen who is watching from her spot, pinched the bridge of her nose. She knew the truth and her annoyance was clear.
Spider-Man turned to her, tilting his head playfully. "By the way, you've got a beautiful girlfriend. Make sure you take care of her."
Peter laughed, but Gwen stepped closer to Peter with a dangerous smile as she discreetly pinched his waist, making him yelp.
As Spider-Man prepared to swing away, Flash Thompson, who had been frozen in shock, finally found his voice. "Spider-Man! I'm your biggest fan!" he exclaimed while rushing over. "Can I get a selfie? And an autograph?"
Spider-Man sighed dramatically but relented. "Fine, but make it quick. I've got crime to fight."
What started as a quick photo turned into a mini fan event as other students and even some teachers joined in for selfies and autographs.
Gwen watched the scene unfold with a deadpan expression. "Why does the robbery we encounter end up as a publicity event?"
Peter laughed clearly enjoying the moment. "Because Gwen," he said with a grin, "that's my luck."

After Spider-Man swung away post-photo session, Mr. Robert approached Peter with serious expression, "Peter, what you did was dangerous. You could have provoked those armed robbers into doing something reckless."
Peter replied, "I knew Spider-Man was here, Mr. Robert. I just wanted to cause some distraction to help him."
Robert's eyes narrowed as he leaned in slightly. "Listen, Peter. You're not Spider-Man. You're just a kid. What were you thinking, slamming that guy down like that with your scrawny build? It was pure luck, but don't let it get to your head, alright?"
Peter nodded with a polite smile. "Got it, Mr. Robert."
"Good." Robert sighed in relief. "Now, let's wait for the police to arrive."
Gwen who is listening to their conversation smiled and waited with Peter.
Moments later, the wail of sirens filled the air as the police arrived. Among the officers was none other than Captain George Stacy, accompanied by Deputy Captain Yuri Watanabe.
George immediately spotted Gwen and Peter. "Are you two okay?" he asked with his tone filled with both concern and relief.
Peter and Gwen recounted the incident to George while Yuri listened attentively. After hearing their account, George patted Peter on the shoulder. "Good job, Peter. But don't do something that dangerous again."
Yuri who is impressed by the boy's action chimed in. "That was pretty brave for someone your age. Maybe you should consider joining the police force after graduation."
Peter chuckled nervously while glancing at Gwen who gave him an amused look.
After sharing a few more words, George motioned for Peter to step aside. Curiously Peter followed him.
"What's up, Uncle George?" Peter asked.
George's expression turned serious. "What I'm about to tell you is confidential, so you need to keep this to yourself."
Peter who is intrigued by this leaned in. "Alright, I'm listening."
George took a deep breath. "We're considering a partnership with the Spider couple—Spider-Man and Spider-Woman. I've already pitched the idea to the higher-ups, and they've agreed to a trial run for three months. If we can prove it reduces crime rates, we'll make the partnership permanent."
Peter's eyes widened in surprise. "That's amazing! But why are you telling me this?"
George smiled knowingly. "Because you're the one who changed my perspective about Spider-Woman. You asked me to see things from her point of view, and that conversation stuck with me. Combined with all the good she's done, it gave me the push to convince the higher-ups. You made this possible, Peter, so I thought you deserved to know."
Peter glanced over at Gwen, who was still chatting with Yuri. He smiled and turned back to George. "In that case, can I ask for a favor?"
George raised an eyebrow. "What kind of favor?"
Peter grinned mischievously. "If this partnership becomes official, can I take a public picture with Spider-Woman? I'm her biggest fan, and it'd mean the world to me."
George gave him a confused look but quickly chuckled when realization struck. "You'd better watch what you say, Peter. If my daughter hears that, she might give you an earful."
Peter laughed. "Nah, I'm pretty sure she'd be fine with it. I know her too well."
George shook his head with a smile. "You're something else, Peter."
The conversation ended as the police wrapped up the scene, taking the webbed-up robbers into custody. Once the chaos was resolved, the students were herded back onto the bus to head home.
As Peter and Gwen sat together, Gwen nudged him. "So, what did my dad want to talk to you about?"
Peter smirked. "Nothing important. Just your dad realizing how awesome I am."
Gwen rolled her eyes but couldn't help the smile tugging at her lips as the bus drove them back to their neighborhood.

As the days passed, life at school began to shift. Mary Jane, Peter's new neighbor, joined Midtown High and quickly became the center of attention, particularly among the boys. Flash Thompson in particular was doing everything he could to impress her, though it seemed to amuse more than intrigue her.
Dr. Curt Connors, having recovered from his past ordeal, also joined the school as the new science teacher. Peter respected Dr. Connors and even began entertaining the idea of recruiting him when he started his future company. However, that plan was still a long way off.
Mary Jane and Gwen became fast friends, forming a close-knit group with Liz Allan and a few other girls. While Peter was happy to see Gwen enjoying herself, he couldn't help but feel a little isolated. Without any close male friends, he often found himself as the odd one out.
With graduation just a few months away, the reality of their final year was sinking in. However, a piece of unexpected news disrupted their routine.
Norman Osborn, the infamous head of Oscorp, was reported to be in critical condition, teetering on the edge of life and death. The news of his impending demise and the uncertain future of Oscorp became the hottest topic in the city.
Peter's thoughts immediately drifted to Harry Osborn, Norman's son, who was studying abroad. 'Will he come back now?' Peter wondered about his past friend, though not his friend but the friend of previous Peter.
At the same time, he felt a strange sense of relief. With Norman dying, the threat of the Green Goblin—a villain Peter dreaded—seemed unlikely to materialize in this world.
But his relief was tempered by caution. 'If Harry ever becomes the Goblin… I'll make sure it doesn't happen. No Goblin will ever rise under my watch.' He thought seriously.
Green Goblin very dangerous and he'll eat whoever took the role and prevent a disaster from happening.

One evening, while Gwen was out with Mary Jane and their group for a girls' night, Peter swung through the city to clear his mind. Gwen had made him promise not to eavesdrop on their conversations, so he found himself aimlessly patrolling the rooftops.
As he soared between buildings, his sharp eyes caught movement in the distance. A dark figure was leaping gracefully from rooftop to rooftop. Intrigued, Peter decided to follow.
When he closed the distance, he realized the figure was a woman clad in a sleek, skin-tight black suit. She stopped abruptly on a rooftop, turning to face him with a teasing smile. Blowing him a playful kiss, she suddenly jumped off the building.
Peter who immediately recognised who she is, now fully intrigued gave her a chase. The pursuit turned into a playful game, with the mysterious woman agilely dodging him at every turn.
Yet, Peter's experience and powers eventually gave him the edge.
As they both landed on the rooftop of the building, with a quick movement, he managed to catch her and pin her against a wall with her wrists held firmly above her head.
The woman smirked in a flirting manner, "Wow, I didn't take you for the rough type, Spidey. But I like it rough."
Peter raised an amused eyebrow as he leaned in slightly. "I think introductions are in order. I'm Spider-Man. And you are?"
Her lips curled into a sly smile. "You can call me Black Cat, Spidey. Now, how about you let me go? I don't recall doing anything that deserves this... attention."
After a moment of consideration, Peter released her but pointed a finger. "For now. Something tells me we'll be seeing a lot more of each other, Black Cat."
She stepped closer as her fingers tracing lazy circles on his chest. "I feel the same way. It's been fun, Spidey."
With a wink, she turned and leapt off the building, disappearing into the night.
Peter watched her retreating figure, a small smile tugging at his lips. 'Well, that was... interesting.'
