Azul turned around to see a woman dressed in gaudy attire behind him.
She had big, wavy hair, a cheap evening gown with a low-cut design, and a crystal necklace around her neck. Her face radiated smugness as she looked at Lin Aida, like a victor savoring her win.
Lin Aida, however, didn't shrink back because of her words. She smiled generously and said, "Good evening, Dolly. Are you here to watch the musical?"
The woman called Dolly immediately pulled on a man in a suit beside her and said, "Of course, this is my boyfriend, Steven Jeansen."
"He spent an entire month preparing for tonight just to accompany me to this musical."
"Oh, by the way, Steven works as a teller at the Federal Reserve Bank's headquarters. If you ever need anything, he can help you out."
Before Lin Aida could respond, Dolly continued with a tone of feigned pity: "But then again, Lin, I don't think you'd ever need to go to the headquarters. With what little you make each month, just paying rent and utilities must already be tight, right?"
She then turned her attention to Azul. "Is this your boyfriend?"
Lin Aida replied, "No, Mr. John is my neighbor."
"Neighbor?"
Dolly scrutinized Azul. "Neighbor, are you perhaps interested in pursuing our dear Lin? She's been blind since birth. If you bully her, that would be just too pitiful."
Lin Aida smiled and said, "Thank you for your concern, Dolly. But I've never felt pitiful."
"I was born with a disability, but when God closes one door, He opens another."
"Although I can't see, I can hear things more clearly than others. So, I don't feel sorry for myself at all."
Dolly laughed out loud. "Alright, alright, Lin, you're still as strong-willed as ever."
"By the way, did you buy premium tickets? Maybe we can all go in together?"
Azul smiled. "No need. A friend of mine will take us inside."
"Your friend?"
Dolly covered her mouth and chuckled. "Is it a friend who works as an electrician at the theater?"
Just then, her boyfriend Steven smiled and said, "It's getting late, Dolly. We should go get our tickets checked."
Dolly replied, "Alright, we'll go first, Lin, and Neighbor."
"Hope to see you in the hall. Goodbye."
After they left, Lin Aida said, "That woman is so annoying. She's always trying to show off in front of everyone."
"I'm sorry, Mr. John, that she looked down on you as well."
Azul laughed heartily. "I'll make a call and ask my friend to come get us earlier."
He walked to the side and took out his phone. "Ashley, do me a favor."
At the entrance of Carnegie Hall, there were two ticketing lines—one for general seating and another for premium seats.
The premium line was almost empty, while the general seating line was long and crowded.
Dolly and her boyfriend Steven were in the general seating line. Their flashy attire made them stand out, almost comically, among the low-key crowd.
Dolly angrily said, "What's going on? Didn't you say you bought premium tickets?"
Steven quickly responded, "Honey, please don't get mad. I didn't mean for this to happen. But you know how hard it is to get premium tickets, right?"
At that moment, a man walked by and whispered, "Sir, need premium seats? One ticket for $2,000. I'll give you a deal—two for just $3,500."
Steven awkwardly said, "No, thank you. We've already bought our tickets."
The scalper glared at him, muttered "cheapskate," and walked away.
Finally reaching the ticket counter, Steven hurriedly handed over two tickets. After glancing at them, the ticket attendant said, "One moment, please."
He then used an internal intercom to call, "Mr. Bart, Steven Jeansen and Miss Dolly are here."
Hearing this, Dolly was momentarily stunned and then asked, "Who is Mr. Bart?"
The ticket attendant smiled and said, "He's our hall manager."
Dolly began to laugh. "Steven, you know the hall manager of Carnegie Hall? Is he coming to personally greet us?"
Steven looked bewildered but uncertainly replied, "Maybe?"
Soon, a dignified man walked out from the entrance.
"I am Bart, the hall manager."
He took Steven's tickets, swiftly tore them into pieces, and then smiled.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Steven Jeansen and Miss Dolly."
"You two are on Carnegie Hall's blacklist. This venue does not welcome you."
He then took out an envelope and handed it to Steven. "Here is double the ticket price you paid. Please leave."
Without even sparing them a glance, the hall manager turned and left.
Ultimately, Dolly and Steven were "escorted" out by Carnegie Hall's security. At the entrance, Dolly shouted, "Why?!"
"Why are we blacklisted?!"
"Now my colleagues will laugh at me!"
Inside a VIP box at Carnegie Hall, Azul shut the door and said, "Take a seat. The musical is about to start."
"This room was arranged by my friend. It's a storage room. I hope you don't mind."
Lin Aida sat down and felt around. "This isn't a storage room, is it? It's clean, and I'm sitting on a genuine leather sofa. This is what a VIP box has."
Azul peeled an orange and started eating. "You're right. I heard they just moved this sofa out of the box and were planning to throw it away."
"Want anything to eat? My friend sent us some cookies and fruits."
Lin Aida innocently said, "Mr. John, your friend is so kind."
Azul smiled, then scanned the area and located Angelina in another box.
Angelina stood on the viewing platform. Above the corridor, Azul detected a suspicious liquid moving through the pipes.
"He's here."
Recently, Angelina had been frequenting public places to lure out the Liquid Man.
This superpowered assassin, who had once attempted to kill her in the Seven Tower, was extremely cautious. Only recently had Angelina sensed his presence.
Tonight, the Liquid Man was once again approaching Angelina, closer than ever before.
Using the Seven's internal communicator, Azul said to Angelina, "He's right above you."
"Give him a chance, Ana."
The musical began, and the lights in the venue dimmed. Music filled the air.
In another box, Angelina stood silently on the viewing platform, her attention seemingly drawn to the stage performance.
After patiently watching for a while, she announced her need to visit the restroom.
Inside the restroom, two female bodyguards accompanied her.
The restroom was quiet, brightly lit, and filled with a light fragrance from the air freshener.
Angelina pushed open a stall door and went in. After closing the door, drops of water dripped from the restroom's ventilation system.
In a corner unseen by the bodyguards, more liquid poured out silently from the vent and began moving along the floor.
Eventually, the liquid slipped into the stall where Angelina was. At that moment, Angelina had just finished her business and turned around to flush the toilet.
The liquid suddenly surged upward, rapidly forming into the shape of a man.
The man's hands remained liquid, transforming into a dagger aimed at Angelina's back!
