Chapter 7: Chapter 7: "Opportunity"
The discovery of the infinite variety of species inhabiting countless dimensions plunged Atachi into a dizzying introspection, shaking his perception of his own place in the universe. He pondered the unfathomable origins of his abilities, this power that carried him far beyond the limits even of the gods. How could these ancient entities, forged by eons of training, wars, and endless victories, appear so insignificant to him? True, the cosmic beings still held dominion over the realms, but deep within, Atachi felt that one day he could easily surpass them. Their defeat, he was certain, was only a matter of time.
Wandering across Terra, Atachi observed humanity with serene detachment, like a fascinated but removed spectator. His immeasurable power, yet untapped in its full potential, could destroy any monster regardless of its level. His awareness of the universal frailty of Terrans filled him with a bittersweet sense of melancholy toward them.
Atachi murmured to himself, his tone tinged with frustration:
"Never having truly discovered the strength that perpetually resides within me, I've grown consumed by a raging hatred. Why are the beings of this world so weak, so easily surpassed? Despite their brilliance, it seems the very foundation of all things eludes them. They cling to beliefs that always comfort them. My greatest problem lies in the fact that I am stronger than myself—constantly."
Seeking understanding and a way to bridge this infinite chasm within, Atachi retreated to remote, uninhabited mountains, exiling himself in profound solitude. There, he resolved to confront himself in a battle that would shatter the boundaries of the cosmos. Channeling his energy, he shaped a double—a being formed entirely from his energy, a raw and inexhaustible embodiment of his essence. Aware of the catastrophic threat this power posed, he devised a technique capable of containing even the most apocalyptic impacts.
Atachi whispered with calm authority:
"God's Zone."
Instantly, an immaterial sphere enveloped the entire mountain range, severed completely from the rest of the world. The overwhelming density of his energy-double bent the space inside God's Zone until only two entities remained, poised to engage in a battle to the death.
His double, a manifestation of pure energy, spoke with a chilling voice, devoid of emotion:
"You've become disturbingly cowardly, Atachi. You've lingered too long in self-pity over the individuals of your kind. If your strength does not allow you to manifest the opportunities you wish to bring into reality, then perhaps you don't truly control me after all."
Atachi's gaze sharpened, his voice unwavering:
"You are far too arrogant for what you are. You are merely a glimpse of what I represent, nothing more than an animal I've effortlessly tamed. If you believe I struggle to face you, it's because I haven't taught you respect properly."
The double solidified further and launched itself at Atachi with inhuman speed, tearing through space with every motion. Atachi, curious to test his limits, allowed the blow to land, wondering if even a scratch could emerge from this confrontation. The resulting explosion of energy reverberated throughout God's Zone, annihilating everything within. Yet the Zone itself remained pristine, untouched by the chaos inside.
In a flash of brilliance, Atachi instantly deciphered the complexity of the energy fluctuations within. Creating an unprecedented solution, he obliterated his double with a single strike, reducing the pure-energy construct to nothingness.
Atachi spoke to himself, his tone measured, yet resolute:
"By uniting the existence of the multiverses, by capturing the diversity of these dimensions and redistributing the energy into microcosmic hierarchies, I could undoubtedly exert absolute control. By creating microcosms within every particle of my being and aligning these energies at the elemental levels, I could... yes... achieve perfect mastery."
The energy within him fractured into microcosms at the subatomic level. Each particle became a source of elemental power, controllable in real-time, fusing the infinitely small with the infinitely vast. Yet this breakthrough merely fueled Atachi's insatiable thirst for evolution. His quest for knowledge drove him further, seeking to expand his understanding to encompass the entirety of existence. He recalled Titan's words, resonating like a distant echo:
Titan- "(...) My father wishes to recruit you into my uncle's ranks, the most powerful being of all time."
Later, as the battle drew to a close, Titan, wounded but proud, offered a slight bow and said:
"Thank you for your mercy, Atachi. One day, I will return to offer you an opportunity that will change your destiny."
Atachi embarked on an unrelenting pursuit of knowledge. He scoured the world, consuming thousands of books each day, delving tirelessly into the depths of physics, matter, psychological concepts, and far beyond. This exploration triggered his first true evolution, propelling him to an unprecedented level. He mastered the ability to replicate any object, material, or atom with flawless precision. Transformed into a veritable machine of perfection, Atachi assembled and refined an arsenal of weapons capable of subjugating any opponent. Yet, paradoxically, he had no enemies—for he had become the enemy of all. They would have to unite to confront such an anomaly.
And still, Atachi's thirst for understanding burned brightly, driven by a deeply buried purpose.
Atachi- "I died as a Terran, but today I am reborn from extinguished ashes. The frequency I now emit heralds eternal change. After all, the end is but the beginning of a new era. The era of Atachi Gosaiblaze's ascension begins now."
Closing his eyes, Atachi sought Titan, mentally traversing the vast stellar fields spanning the cosmos. There, in the abyss of this meaningful search, he perceived a familiar presence—one he had encountered not long ago.
Titan lay collapsed before his father's palace gates. Atachi's arrival after several days rekindled the humiliation Titan had suffered. Yet this encounter stirred something unexpected in Atachi: a spark of empathy, as though Titan's emotions were not entirely alien to him.
Atachi-"Why do you still pity him? It's time you realized that the opportunities in this world are created by oneself, not handed over by others. You promised me that you would return to grant me this opportunity. My enthusiasm and determination pushed me to train for the first time in my life. I'm here so you can honor your promise. I stand before you now. What are you waiting for to fulfill it?"
Titan was overwhelmed by this man's obsession with imposing his own voice upon a scale already weighed down by starkly divided factions. Through Atachi, he realized that insignificance stems from the absence of decision, a void of action symbolizing the arrival of an unfinished life.
With renewed conviction, he stood up, a new light in his eyes, and turned toward Atachi.
Titan-:"Indeed, I need no introduction, but my name is Titan of Hyperion! I am a survivor of the exterminated race from planet Hyperion, a disaster caused by the world-conqueror Barbatéos. I ask you, Atachi, to become my master. In exchange for the access you desire to these ultimate conflicts, where the most terrifying monsters of the cosmos collide, I ask you for one thing: allow me to accompany you on your journey, to grow stronger, to become the protector of the weak and of those who are nothing more than the livestock of conquerors. Become my master, Atachi Gosaiblaze!"
Atachi, stunned by Titan's words, smiled—a smile tinged with pride and a long-dormant satisfaction. He approached Titan, his aura imposing, serving as a test. Crushed once again, finding himself in a situation he had experienced more than once, Titan wondered if he could overcome the hidden trial Atachi was imposing.
Atachi-"Titan, have you lost your mind? At what point do you think you can catch up to me? At your current level, it would take you between thirty and fifty thousand years just to reach one percent of my strength. By what means would you ever hope to follow me? I am a free agent, unshackled by the limits that bind even the gods themselves."
Titan replied simply.
-"If you are my master, then it is up to you to tell me how I can do it. I will follow you until the day I surpass you. It's as simple as that."
Atachi burst into laughter—not out of scorn, but out of excitement. To Titan, it sounded more like an awakening; Atachi seemed freed of a burden that had long tormented him.
Atachi-"That bold response has convinced me, Titan. I will do everything in my power to make you progress at an inhuman pace. However, I have one last question for you, Titan: what is your vision of the world? What do you desire in this world? Who do you truly wish to become?"
Despite the overwhelming power of Atachi's aura, Titan took his time to think. A heavy silence settled as his thoughts formed, maturing into a response he knew would chart the course of his future.
Titan-"I, Titan, want to become the greatest divine entity that can ever exist in this world. My goal is to become a supreme god. Then, I will climb title by title until I earn the highest rank, a title created in my image, to the glory of my being. I am a champion of peace, seeking to obliterate every malevolent being in this world. I, too, want to impose myself as an undeniable weight upon the scales of the cosmos! Influencing the world's fate is but a brief step; I will eradicate all undesirables from this world, starting with the world-devouring conqueror, Barbatéos!"
Atachi nodded, the shadow of an approving smile playing at the corners of his lips.
-"Your ambitions shine with extraordinary clarity. We will ensure that Barbatéos pays for the folly of provoking you."
With a glimmer of hope in his eyes, Titan asked:
"Can you defeat him, Atachi? Do you think your strength is enough to overcome him?"
Atachi-"I will confide in you, Titan: I have never fought at more than one percent of my full capacity in my entire existence. I have no idea of my full potential. Let me give you advice as one who speaks to the mortal in you, not the divinity: you will undoubtedly have to grow immensely strong at my side. However, until victory is drawn by the greatness of your combativeness, anyone can defeat you. We are all equals until the moment you prove your worth to the world."
The pressure dissipated, and Titan stood tall once more. Without hesitation, he asked:
"My father is a former supreme god. Will you face him? He waits behind those massive doors sealing the entrance to his palace."
Atachi cast a knowing smile toward the towering gates.
"I noticed his presence some time ago. Your father seems to be of a highly respectable level. Yet, I have no desire to meet him or challenge him at this time. My apologies for keeping you waiting, Father of Titan, but I will return to see you very soon. Your son will have changed, and then we can discuss my entry into this conflict of boundless proportions."
A voice resonated behind the doors:
-"I'm rather surprised that you underestimate me right from the start, Terran, but you remain an anomaly of nature—one that even the gods who have transcended the destiny of their own existence fail to comprehend."
Atachi, maintaining his usual stoic demeanor, replied:
-"There is one thing you are mistaken about, Supreme Divinity. I defy no logic; I am but a simple Terran, a mortal like any other. You're merely envious of a limitless potential that you simply do not possess. Let's go, Titan—we're going to forge you a whole new identity."
As Titan's father prepared to retort, Atachi vanished, leaving behind an insolence so profound that it bordered on unbearable for an ancient deity.
Titan turned one last time to his father.
-"I'm leaving, Father. I'll make sure you meet him properly very soon. In the meantime, I'll train alongside him to become stronger than I've ever been."
He teleported to Terra, choosing a random location on the globe, but Atachi was already waiting for him there, ready to begin their first training session.
Atachi-"Your greatest physical weakness is undoubtedly your poor defense."
Titan, offended, retorted:
-"It's not my defense that's the issue—it's you who far surpasses my resistance. This has nothing to do with..."
Atachi- Wake up, Titan.
Titan had been lying on the ground for over an hour, his body completely shattered from a single punch. Struggling to lift himself on his hands, his divine blood spilled onto the ground, his condition worsening. Poisoned by his new master, he hadn't anticipated such cruelty from him.
Titan, gasping in palpable agony, screamed:
-"But you're completely insane! This poison is far too powerful for my body! It's consuming every cell in me! Master, I'm going to die at this rate!"
Atachi-"You don't need to worry. I possess healing powers. I'll use them once you've overcome this warm-up."
Titan no longer knew what to do. He felt his organs melting, his blood vessels expanding and contracting uncontrollably. He was overwhelmed by a pain he could barely endure.
Atachi, disappointed by the weaknesses displayed by a supposed deity like Titan, muttered:
"And you dare call yourself a god without even knowing how to neutralize a simple poison? We have much work to do, Titan.
Already dissatisfied with Titan's dismal pace, Atachi healed him with a snap of his fingers. Titan exhaled in relief but collapsed in utter exhaustion. Atachi levitated him with telekinesis.
-"This one is far too weak for even my basic training. I'll have to create something that will continuously push him to improve. I must forge him a relic capable of meeting my own expectations. Elevating him is the first step. I'll need to identify a weakness to exploit. We're going to gather materials to construct an identity embedded into his very being."
He tossed Titan aside like a discarded object and recreated the God Zone to test a hypothesis he had about dimensional rifts. If enough energy is concentrated at an infinitesimal point, space itself will collapse, submitting to an unbreakable bond. An intense connection between two worlds would inevitably form.
Atachi plunged one hand forward, concentrating a single boson of energy to open space effortlessly. As he reached in with his other hand to widen the rift, two Terrans on a mission from Terra were ejected, landing before Atachi. They stumbled upon a potentially dangerous figure, taking in Titan's battered state with confusion.
The two heroes, visibly unsettled, observed the strange scene unfolding before them. One, his gaze sharp with suspicion, spoke with a cutting tone:
-"It seems we've landed on Terra by mistake. This wasn't our destination, but here you are, blocking our path and delaying a vital delivery for our war effort. Whoever you are, I'm afraid I'll have to kill you to make up for the delay."
Atachi smiled at the hero's ignorance.
I apologize if I've disrupted your journey. If you wish, I should be able to help deliver your artifact in time as compensation. I don't believe attacking me to take my life will solve your problem.
The second hero scrutinized Atachi suspiciously, analyzing the power of this stranger who had just torn open space to create a dimensional rift.
-"Help us? You'd never withstand the dimensional pressure of the journey. It's pointless; you've already caused significant delays for a critical war order."
Titan rose, his aura expanding throughout the God Zone. The heroes were taken aback by an individual of such power being unidentifiable. The gravity around them increased a thousandfold, yet no one faltered.
Titan-"Master, who are these people? Are they part of my training?"
Atachi squinted, a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes.
-"A war, you say? I can offer my services and that of my disciple. If we pass through the rift to this warring world, assign us a faction to protect. We'll exterminate whatever adversaries trouble you."
One of the heroes lunged at Atachi at light speed, but both Atachi and Titan perceived his movement in slow motion. Titan intercepted him, halting the assault. Titan now stood as his master's shield. His role was to train as much as possible, ensuring his master wouldn't need to lift a finger—only to provide guidance and advice.
Titan-"I'm stopping you right here. There are actions that strip you of even a shred of lucidity, hero of Terra. My master isn't someone to talk about death with. He decides your fate, whether you like it or not. I urge you not to waste your time or your life foolishly. Lead us to this other world. We'll follow your directives as my master mentioned."
The two heroes exchanged glances, hesitating. The crushing gravity and spatial distortions around them made every movement arduous, every breath a struggle. After a moment of deliberation, they relented, unaware of the true strength of Atachi and his disciple.
Hero 2- "Very well. Go ahead; we'll join you on the other side of the portal."
Atachi had already vanished, while Titan leaped through the portal, moving at a staggering speed in an environment where he normally wouldn't have been able to. The heroes barely managed to track his movements before being overtaken by this perfect stranger, just beginning to grasp dimensional travel.
Suddenly, Atachi appeared behind them, his oppressive aura freezing the two heroes in a state of absolute paralysis.
-"I thank you for kindly offering me this artifact. We'll use it to gather some intriguing materials. You sought to take away my most cherished gift, didn't you?"
The first hero, despite his overwhelming fear, attempted to plead:
-"You don't have to go this far! We're in a place where we shouldn't be fighting. Give us back that artifact!"
Atachi shook his head, almost amused by their naivety.
-"Back to square one."
Without further warning, he severed the dimensional passage with a single gesture, and they found themselves back on Terra as if the journey had been nothing more than an illusion.
