Awaiting the Moon's Return in the Southern City

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Who Says I'm an Illegitimate Daughter?

A glint of fierceness flashed in Eve Thompson's eyes, and in the next moment, she reached out and grabbed the bank card: "Well, thank you."

She wasn't going to pass up the money that was already rightfully hers!

However, the other end of the bank card wasn't being released.

Lana Thompson hadn't expected Eve's reaction, and she was stunned.

Looking at the person in front of her, Lana tilted her head, her facial birthmark particularly noticeable as she spoke in a soft and bewildered tone, "You, don't tell me you're regretting it?"

Her appearance was uneasy and insecure, undoubtedly that of the ugly creature she was known to be.

Lana was furious.

How could she regret it in front of her classmates?

At this moment, she clenched her teeth so hard that she could only swallow her own blood!

Lana had no choice but to let go of the card and gritted her teeth, saying, "Of, course, not!"

This was all her living expenses!

Seeing Lana's constipated expression, Eve was in high spirits. She put the bank card into her pocket and stood up, ready to leave.

But just as she turned around, a slightly arrogant voice came over: "Panda eyes, how could you be so shameless?"

Panda eyes?

Eve looked back and saw a boy standing up slowly from the corner of the classroom. He wore an all-denim outfit, looking cool, and his facial features were very delicate and good-looking, except for the air of adolescent rebellion on his face.

Seeing him stand up, Lana's face immediately flushed. She gazed at the boy with shining eyes and said softly, "Oliver, just let it go."

Oliver Charles lifted his chin, coldly snorted, and leaned on the desk, swiftly climbing onto it with a graceful motion. He then stepped across several desks, arriving at Eve's desk and squatting down, looking down at her from above: "Lana is kind and doesn't hold a grudge against you, but I can't stand your attitude! And doesn't that money burn your hand when you hold it?"

Eve: ??

There was a clear path, but this guy insisted on showing off by walking on the desks. And the tone of his voice when he spoke made him seem so full of himself.

She fell silent for a moment before responding with a serious expression: "After I withdraw the cash, I'll tell you if it burns."

Oliver Charles: ...

He looked at the girl in front of him, remembering how she had never dared to even glance at him in the past. Even in the classroom, she was inconspicuous like air. If he spoke to her, she would run away in a panic, never daring to talk back softly like she did today, making him feel like he was punching cotton.

Anger smoldered in Oliver Charles as he leaned closer and lowered his voice, "Hey, you ugly freak, do you really think that climbing into my cousin's bed means you've turned into a phoenix? How dare you talk to me like this?"

Eve was slightly taken aback: "Cousin?"

"Don't play dumb! You think I don't know what you've been up to these past few days? The CEO of Charlie Group, my cousin, would never be interested in a bastard like you, let alone get engaged to you! Don't even fantasize about it!"

Eve finally understood.

So, this guy was actually Anthony Charlie's cousin? Now that she looked at him closely, he did bear quite a resemblance to Anthony.

She curled her lips, her gaze suddenly turning to Lana Thompson, who was standing by, waiting to see the commotion play out. Eve spoke slowly, "Who said I'm a bastard?"

Oliver Charles was instantly stunned: "What do you mean?"

Lana's face showed a hint of panic.

In the past, every time this ugly woman was called a bastard, she never dared to explain herself. Now that she had Mr. Charlie by her side, had she grown more courageous?!
