Azura the youngest pope

Chapter 5: A true saint

Looking at the trio of commoners, I could tell they were certainly nervous, that's understandable considering the looks they were receiving from the snobby noble kids, but I was rooting for them as a former commoner.

" Anyone could be blessed by the goddess we are all her subjects". The bishop said this as he looked at the trio, it seems to me he's trying to send some sort of message with those words. Like he's trying to tell everyone just because they are commoners doesn't mean they don't have talent.

It seems the bishop is not just a lazy old ma, I was kinda worried the church was a corrupt organisation that was just thirsty for power but it seems there are good people inside.

The first one to come forward was a little girl, with blue hair and her pigtails with white ribbons, I have a feeling she will fit right in the church.

The girl ascends the stairs, her big black eyes, looking around in nervousness, if I had super hearing I'm sure I would hear her heart beating like a drum, despite the nerves she stands before the crystal and places her palm on the cold surface.

It only took a moment for the crystal to turn blue, the blue mana filling up 50% of the crystal but it kept going, filling up 55% of the crystal with a beautiful azure blue colour.

" High level superior talent, little girl you can be a powerful holy knight one day". The bishop said to the excited little girl, who looked back at her companions with a smile big smile shouting out.

" Did you hear that, I'll be powerful, I'll protect both of you this time". She said making a "v" sign with her fingers, it seems all her nerves are gone now. you go girl. I'm really happy for her too, quite strange to be so happy for a stranger, mmhm It's definitely not love though.

Perhaps I'm just inspired by her aspirations to protect her friends, snapping out of my thoughts i gaze at the next person going up, a boy, with short golden sun kissed hair, it's messy, that could be a testament to his carefree and reckless personality.

His jade green eyes though, hide a deep fear that everyone will notice how much he actually cares and how afraid he is to be a disappointment, I kinda see myself in him, I used to be such a person, acting uncaring hoping they'll never realise how much it actually hurts.

I'm feeling sad all of the sudden, my past life is just filled with bad memories I need to erase.

" Excellent! Heavenly talent of the fire element!"

That announcement brought me back to reality, I hadn't even noticed when he got up there.

I stared blankly as the boy descended the stairs, receiving hugs from his companions, while the nobles and their children had bitter faces as they have just swallowed the bitter pill of being proven wrong, but more than that, surprise and disbelief was written all over their faces.

The bishop is smiling till his eyes, it seems he was really happy, the type of happiness you couldn't fake, you would swear it's his own children who achieve these results.

I don't want to be here anymore, I want to go home, i look towards Faith and I didn't even need to say anything, she understood my feelings and that's why I love her.

As we were ready to head out, the last girl of the trio stood from her seat, her silver white hair flowing down her back to her waist, her steps small and steady but her eyes, cold and empty.

Those hollow golden eyes were speaking to me, I wanted to save her.

I want to bring a smile to her angelic face, I want to be her hero, the desire in my almost brought me to tears as I imagined her smile, could this be love? No I love the goddess and she's waiting for me and I will return to her, but this girl, this girl.

All of the sudden I was blinded by a white light that covered my entire field of vision, I couldn't see anything but I could feel something, a soothing feeling, a warm feeling, like a hug on my soul, I could actually feel something in my soul vibrate.

Although Azura didn't notice, his sky blue eyes glowed with a light that covered his entire eye, the only person who witnessed this scene was the girl on stage as everyone else was still blinded by the white light.

"My goddess, saint talent of the light element, holy cow! It's a true saint, a true saint has been born!"

The bishop was so shocked that he even cursed and the archbishop didn't even care as he was on his feet too stunned to speak. This was a world shaking event, a saint of the light element has never been seen before.

There has been light element users and they still exist but non of them posses saint level talent.

unbelievable just unbelievable, this will truly change everything.
