Battle Race in the Fantasy World

Chapter 0 - Prologue

Prologue

‘Couples Hell, Solo Paradise.’

Believing in that truth for nearly 9 years.

Finally, Kyle realized. His life is just hell.

While the protagonists of the story are fully immersed in couple preparations.

He was here dealing with daily grind.

At first, he thought it was an okay place.

A sturdy father, a gentle mother, a rough older brother, a caring sister.

Even a reliable backing as the son of a baron.

But it turns out that all four family members and all the people in the territory.

Are the wicked warrior race who fought the empire even with a stone in hand.

And they all, instead of swords, wield barbells in the days of peace.

“Kyle. Let’s do one more set.”

“Sister. You’ve been saying just one more set since earlier.”

“This time it’s really the last. Kyle? One more set.”

I wish she’d demand it with a stern voice like father’s.

Kyle’s sister utters the dreadful words ‘one more set’ in a very warm tone.

“I really can’t do this.”

“You can. Come on, I’ll help.”

Grabbing the barbell from above, his sister shouts, “Just one more set!”

There’s no compromise when it comes to exercise in this family.

Thanks to that, Kyle gave up everything and gritted his teeth to lift the barbell.

And so, barely surviving through one set.

“Well done! Kyle. Look at this. You did it, didn’t you?”

“I barely managed with your help.”

“I didn’t do anything?”

“…?”

What kind of nonsense is this again?

“I just touched the barbell? You did everything, Kyle.”

“….”

“So, one more set?”

Kyle sprang up from his seat and ran away without looking back.

But hell was still ongoing.

“You think you can escape without doing leg exercises, Kyle?”

This time, he was caught by his brother and had to finish even the leg exercises reluctantly.

He thought it was the end, but this time he encountered his father, who was in the midst of aerobic exercise.

“Let’s run together, Kyle.”

Even the fitness enthusiasts find aerobic sessions the most excruciating.

After running five laps, Kyle could finally retreat to his room.

He heard his father ran an additional 15 laps afterward.

‘It’s unfair.’

Yes. It was unfair. It was too unfair no matter how you looked at it.

While the protagonists were probably busy preparing for their romance during this time.

He, who had entered the world of romance novels, had been exercising for nine years straight.

This couldn’t go on. He had to escape no matter what.

So, he secretly sent in an application to the academy without his family knowing.

And today, the day the results arrive.

– Your application for admission has been rejected. –

Damn it, why?! Kyle wrapped his head with his hands.

“Reject it without exception. Absolutely.”

The head of educational affairs smirked at the minister’s words.

What the hell is going on that it had to be reported to the minister?

“Don’t even let them near the academy. The moment they enroll, we’re in financial warfare. Got it?”

“Yes, Minister. But, why reject it…”

Upon hearing this, the Minister of Education threw the inkwell.

“That’s why there’s middle management to think about that! Once the decision is made from above, the rest is up to you to handle!”

With a thunderous roar, the head of educational affairs hastily made his exit.

As soon as the door to the minister’s office closed, he let out a sigh.

“Why does that crazy warrior clan want to come to the academy again… Don’t come… Please don’t come…”

On the desk lay a single admission application.

Son of the Baron, Kyle Johanson.

The minister pleaded desperately in front of it.

Please, prevent the bloodline of this insane warrior clan from even coming near the academy.

If the academy fails to rejects them again this time, the Minister of Finance will surely strangle me with his own hands.
