Chapter 26 - The Free Part Has Ended. Now The Main Story Begins
Battle Race in the Fantasy World – 26
EP.26 The Free Part Has Ended. Now The Main Story Begins
The Victory Festival is one of the grandest events in the Empire.
It’s a joyful day for everyone, commoners and nobles alike.
On this day, people of all ages enjoy the festival and spend a happy time.
Naturally, many couples go out on dates on such a day.
And where there are couples, public displays of affection are bound to happen everywhere.
‘Over there, they’re arm in arm, and behind, they’re embracing. And here, they’re openly kissing…?’
Tisha thinks of herself as not overly conservative.
Yet, amidst the affectionate displays of various couples all around, Tisha didn’t know where to look.
Then, a sudden thought. Is she as pretty as those women over there?
She found herself checking her own appearance, looking down at her clothes.
She had dressed with great care, even wearing makeup, which she normally didn’t do.
Looking at the women around her, she felt her clothes might be a bit old-fashioned, and her makeup not quite right.
She reassured herself that Kyle had said she was pretty, but then she worried again, thinking that he might just be being polite and not wanting to say anything unpleasant.
Could Kyle be thinking the same? Maybe he’s looking at other women.
With that worry, Tisha glanced at Kyle with cautious eyes.
‘…Thank goodness.’
A sigh of relief naturally escaped her.
Kyle didn’t seem to have any interest in the women around, not even sparing them a glance.
It wasn’t just because he was conscious of Tisha. Kyle genuinely had no interest in women.
He didn’t give a single look to the pleasing dresses or the openly flirtatious gestures.
Instead, his attention was elsewhere.
‘Wow. That guy looks like he’d break if you just touched him. Is he a chopstick?’
‘That person looks like they could handle some. I wonder how much they can bench press.’
‘Tsk tsk. All bulked up for nothing. Just looking at the lower body, the core doesn’t seem like it can hold up.’
‘Doesn’t that person need to exercise a bit? Can they even get up if they fall?’
In Jonathan Family, one would never see such a sight, but here, it was a hodgepodge of people on display.
Skinny individuals, those boasting plump figures, and some showing off their muscles, though at a glance, many imperfections could be seen. It was a veritable array of concerning figures.
‘This is normal. This is how it should be,’ Kyle whispered to himself.
But no matter how he tried to convince himself, he couldn’t help thinking, ‘That can’t be right. Can they even lift anything looking like that?’
“Hey. Tisha.”
“Yes?”
“Doesn’t it look like something’s happening over there?”
Kyle pointed towards the square, where a real commotion was taking place.
While Kyle casually observed, Tisha quickly asked someone for information.
Naturally, Tisha was much quicker to find out what was going on.
“Kyle. There’s a high-ranking official from the Church giving a Victory Festival speech in the square.”
“A high official? Like an archbishop or something?”
“I’m not sure. They haven’t started the speech yet, and it’s not clear which high official is coming.”
“Hmm…”
Upon hearing this, Kyle rubbed his chin, lost in thought.
A high-ranking official from the Church. A high-ranking official. Could it be that woman he saw earlier…?
No, it doesn’t make sense. How could she be walking around without any escort?
If it really is her, then the guards would have no excuse for their absence.
“Kyle! They’re starting the speech!”
At Tisha’s shout, Kyle quickly lifted his head to scan the podium in the center of the square.
However, there was no one on the podium. It was just an empty stage set up there.
“What’s going on…?”
“Weren’t we told someone from the Church was coming?”
It seemed Kyle wasn’t the only one who found it strange.
As people murmured and began to look around,
“A truly joyous day indeed. In moments of disaster, a miracle descended, and at last, all flames were extinguished.”
A clear and melodious voice began to ring out from somewhere.
It was a voice so beautiful that it made the listeners sigh without even realizing it.
“I once received this question, where are the miracles? Do they truly exist? That was the question. Regrettably, I could not answer that person. Was it because I didn’t know the answer? No. It was because I felt so sorry for them, they seemed so pitiful.”
– Thud. –
“Ladies and gentlemen. Miracles have always been right beside you. Every moment has been a miracle. It’s just that we did not recognize them as miracles.”
A woman who looks like an academy student passes by Kyle’s side.
As she lowers the hood she was wearing, a silver waterfall that seems to contain the sky and the lake pours out.
Her silver eyes, which appear to see through all things, sparkle.
“The moment we are living right now is a miracle, and the person next to you is a miracle. So let us all not search for miracles in the wrong places, but firmly grasp the true miracles and not let them slip away.”
The woman finally reaches the podium in the square and slowly steps up.
The noisy square falls into silence. The crowd focuses on her, their breathing even seems to quiet down.
“Now, everyone. On this day filled with miracles, let us seek another miracle. With earnest prayers and blessings, may a warm light be with you all.”
“Ah…!”
“The Saintess…!”
It was the moment when the Saintess descended at the Imperial Academy.

Staring at the Saintess in front of him, who is bestowing blessings with a radiant smile,
Kyle closes his eyes, savoring both relief and joy.
‘All those comments praising the Saintess, ignoring the main characters. Not a single regret about that action…!’
Wondering why there are comments praising the Saintess after only reading the free part?
Because the first and second male leads, who have turned readers’ emotions upside down from the free part,
And the first and second female leads, who were struggling without a clue,
One of them who made all these characters human was none other than the Saintess.
Honestly, he was a bit upset after seeing spoilers in the comments.
But isn’t there someone who, after feeding him nothing but frustrating situations, finally gives him a refreshing twist?
Of course, he had no choice but to fervently praise the character of the Saintess.
Despite being a supporting character, she was so popular that illustrations were even made for her.
If the illustrations had been subpar, public opinion might have plummeted.
Fortunately, the Saintess’s illustrations were created with incredible quality.
This is game over. The readers will inevitably like her.
‘Finally, I am in the presence of the Saintess. Wow, truly… she is grace personified. There must be a reason why she was chosen by the divine. Indeed.’
He recalls a comment that was taken with the concept, saying that God must have carved light to create beauty as a theme.
It sounded like nonsense, but now that he actually sees the Saintess, it’s clear that reader must have been possessed.
Otherwise, how could they praise the Saintess’s appearance so much!
Tisha is pretty, and Elga is beautiful, but Kyle considered the Saintess to be above them.
Of course, this is strictly his subjective opinion.
Objectively speaking, the beauty of all three could be considered similar. They each have their own charm.
However, from Kyle’s perspective, he had always wanted to see the Saintess.
Considering that she enjoys the popularity of a main character despite being a supporting character,
It was only natural for him to have such absolute favoritism towards her.
‘That voice… Yes, it’s the same as the one I heard earlier. I was right. My prediction was correct. The woman I saw earlier was really the Saintess…!’
With that realization, Kyle let out an immense sigh of relief.
If he had been scolded for not recognizing her, he would have hit his own head with a dumbbell.
Novels with a Saintess in name only, in appearance only, are overflowing.
He was worried that this Saintess might not be the holy Saintess but rather a different kind of saintess.
With so many stories of that nature, it’s almost strange to encounter a classic Saintess.
But the comments are all in praise of the Saintess, a chorus of faithful believers proclaiming her the true Saintess.
He is relieved once again that he did not commit any rudeness in front of her.
“In fact, it was quite a struggle to get here. Like a lost lamb, like a child who has let go of their parents’ hand, I wandered and ended up in an unknown place. There, I too encountered a miracle. A person who did not treat me carelessly, but kindly showed me the way. A truly grateful person. Such people, I would like to call miracles.”
She even called it a miracle! She called me a miracle! Saintess! Saintess!!
“Kyle Jonathan.”
Overwhelmed with emotion, he tries once again to fully take in the sight of the Saintess.
But then, out of nowhere, those dark-clad men blocked my view.
“Ah, wait a moment. Just a moment. Not now. Not today.”
“Let’s hurry to the headmaster’s office.”
“Isn’t today a holiday? It’s the Victory Festival!”
“That’s correct. It is the Victory Festival.”
“But even when everyone is resting, those who take the Empire’s coin do not rest.”
“So please, come with us quickly. Everyone is waiting.”
“No….”
It seems that what was expected has finally come to pass. The story has come to an end.
Yes, it was too quiet. The new student from Jonathan had caused trouble.
A duel had taken place, and there, with bare hands, a sword was shattered.
‘Sigh’
Kyle sighed inwardly and looked at Tisha.
Naturally, she was quite startled and visibly confused by the sudden appearance of two dark-clad men trying to take Kyle away.
“I’ll be back in a bit, Tisha.”
“Where to?”
“It seems I have to have a meeting about the incident at the freshman welcome party.”
Who could it be this time? The academy headmaster? Or the Minister of Education?
Whoever it is, he hopes it ends quickly. he wants to finish up and go back to seeing the Saintess.
He has already thought of excuses.
He didn’t instigate the situation, nor did he propose the duel.
He was just unlucky to be swept up in the incident, a sort of victim.
‘But….’
As Kyle entered the headmaster’s office, he sensed something was off.
An ominous feeling was in the air. It was definitely the headmaster’s office, but it felt like a completely different place.
Perhaps it was because the headmaster, whom he had seen a few times, and several unfamiliar people were all kneeling down, bowing deeply.
‘…What is this now, damn it.’
As he was trying to get a grasp of the situation and look around.
“Kyle Jonathan, kneel before the exalted Imperial family.”
An unimaginable event had unfolded.
