Beast Master: The Last Awakening

Kaelin came out if his room. He was ready to face whatever comes to his way. Today, he had to find out everything. Whatever comes in his way, he would face everything.

In the drawing room, he found Joe was waiting for him. He was dressed as if he was also going out.

"Are you ready? Let's go."

Joe stood up.

"Wait Joe. You're not going. I'm going alone. Whatever comes in my way, I'll face alone. I've already lost Granny, I can't drag you in this mess."

Joe was heading towards the door. But listening to Kaelin's words, he stopped. Looking back, he smiled.

"And you think, I'll listen to you!"

"Joe, listen-"

"Shut your mouth and come. Remember, she is my Grandma, too. She never treated me as an outsider, she loved me the same way she loved you. Since our childhood, we had faced everything together. I promised her that I'll will always be with you, beside you. Now when she's gone, I can't break my promise. We'll go together, face everything together, and take revenge. You can't stop me Kae."

Kaelin's eyes were filled with tears. Suddenly he realised, he didn't lose everyone in this world! There was still a person who loved him, cared for him, and was ready to take up any challenge for him! It was Joe, his friend, his companion, and maybe... Even more than that!

He went towards him, and hugged him tightly. Joe hugged back.

"Let's go. It's time."

Kaelin nodded. They came out if the house. The whole village was silent, the streets were completely empty, no one was out there.

They walked towards the end if the village, holding each other's hands. Their heart was beating faster, deep down, a fear started capturing them slowly. A fear of unknown. But, they were determined. They were determined to face every obstacles on their way.

After a while, they stopped in front of the forest. It was immersed in darkness. In the darkness if night, it looked more mysterious than in the day. It was like, there was a totally different world, waiting for them.

Suddenly a bell ramg. It was midnight, and the clock at the village square started ringing. Joe and Kaelin looked at each other. It was time.

They took some steps back. Then together, they jumped.

Like last time, they crossed the fence. As soon as they took a step into the forest, they felt strange. Something was not right. Joe's sixth sense was telling him, something was definitely not normal.

"You came, good!"

Suddenly, a deep voice was heard. They both looked back. Kaelin was startled.

"It's the cloaked silhouette that I saw that day! It.. it means I was not wrong!"

He murmured.

The figure took some steps forward. Joe's eyebrows were furrowed. He grabbed Kaelin's hands and oushed him behind. If the figure even try to harm him, he had to fight with him first.

"Don't worry, Joe. I'm not going to harm Kaelin. In fact, I was waitjng for him for so long to come!"

The person said in a lighter voice. Then slowly took down the hood of the cloak.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Lyrien."

They looked at him. He was older than them. But how many years older, it was not easy to tell. Maybe five, ten, or fifteen!

"Who are you?"

Joe asked. He still held Kae's hands, standing in front of him.

"I'm Lyrien. A beast tamer of Theria, and your mentor."

He said calmly.

"Beast tamer!"

Both Kaelin and Joe screamed. They have never heard of something like that!

"How can we believe you? What's the proof that you're not lying, what's the proof that you are not gonna harm Kae!"

He smiled. Then slowly raised the hands of the cloak. There was a strange type of tattoo in his left hand, slightly above the wrist.

Joe's eyes widened. This is the same tattoo that is there in Kaelin's hand in the same position! He saw it when they came in Kateris for the first time! Grandma told him that it was a symbol of their lineage, every child had to do this tattoo when he's one months old!

He still remember, how he was worried upon hearing it, that how much pain little Kae had to bear!

"Can you recognise this tattoo, Joe? This is the symbol of the legacy of Theria. Only selected members in the royal family can do it. Hope now you'll beleive I'm not lying!"

"Royal family! What are you talking about?"

Kaelin came from behind. How is he related to a royal family! He always knew that his parents were workers in a company in the city, where they met with an accident. But deep down, he couldn't disbelieve this man, specially after seeing yesterday's incidents.

Joe was also stunned. Rotal family! What was he talking about. He was startled, but he knew, there was something under the veil. Kae's past surely had some deep dark secrets. He was not just an ordinary guy. Infact, his grandmother had some supernatural powers, that means they were related to something that normal people couldn't understand.

But then, why ahe was hiding with Kae in their village! There must be something that lead her to that ordinary life. What was that!

Curiosity washed over his head.

Lyrien smiled.

"Yes, Kaelin. You're not just an ordinary man. In fact, you are the most powerful person in Theria's history. Because-"

He took a pause.

"Because you are the last legendary Beast Master of Theria."

....

What!

Both Joe and Kaelin couldn't speak. Legendary Beast Master! What was he talking about!

Joe first talked.

"What does that mean?"

"Well, to know everything, you have to come with me."

Lyrien turned around.

"Follow me."

He turned around, and walked forward. Kaelin and Joe followed him. They could feel, something bigger was waiting for them.

After walking a while, Lyrien stopped. In the middle of the jungle, there was a small hut, made up of stone. He opened the door,

"Come in."

They went inside. Lyrien closed the door from inside. Then he fisted the palm of his right hand to his chest and muttered something and turned his hand around the room.

Suddenly, a beam of golden light appeared, and disappeared in a second!

"Now, the room is safe. We can talk now."

Saying, Lyrien sat on a couch. Kaelin and Joe sat in front of him. He looked at them, then took a deep breath.

"The story started some thousands years ago, actually."
