Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Ancient Totem Celestial Star Wolf
As for the double magic purity blessing, Luke understood its effect after feeling the magic energy in his body.
Demons were different from humans; they didn't need to connect stars to use magic.
They just needed to use the magic energy of different types in their bodies to cast matching demon spells.
If that didn't work, they could compress the magic energy in their bodies and release it directly, which was also very powerful.
With the double magic energy blessing, all of Luke's magic attributes were stronger, and his skills were more powerful.
It was similar to how human mages used spirit seeds to enhance their magic.
Luke casually flapped his wings a few times. The wind blades he created destroyed several buildings.
He breathed out flames, burning a big hole in the dark sky.
Seeing this, Zach's eyelids twitched.
"According to records, the Wind Blade is a skill attack of the Skywing Wolf, but now it seems like a casual move," Zach thought.
"The power of that flame breath is even greater, much stronger than my own Heavenly Flame Rain."
"Could it be that the Skywing Wolf has advanced?" Zach wondered. "If that's the case, my plan might not work."
"Chief Instructor Zach, what did you say you were going to do?" Michael asked. He was relieved that the Skywing Wolf had finally stopped looking at him. He patted his chest, still a bit scared.
"In a moment, I'll confront it," Zach said, his eyes fixed on the distant beast. "I'll try to hold off the Skywing Wolf as long as I can."
"Wait a minute!" Michael exclaimed. "Chief Zach, weren't you gathering a team to take down the Skywing Wolf?"
Michael was surprised. To him, Zach was a powerful high-level mage—at least dual-element at that. With his squad members, they should be able to confront the Skywing Wolf.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Hurry up and get moving," Zach scolded, looking displeased.
Since when did a beginner-level mage like him start underestimating me? Zach thought. If I were in my prime from a few years ago, I'd teach that Skywing Wolf a lesson in minutes, showing it the power of a Curse Borrower.
But now, after witnessing the Skywing Wolf's casual display of destructive power, he felt it was more reliable to engage in guerrilla tactics.
A mid-level demon was not something he could defeat at the moment.
On the roof of the Silver Trade Building, Luke stretched his body comfortably. His massive wings extended outward nearly fifty meters.
His feet shifted, nearly crushing the entire building.
Luke didn't actually want to show off; he was simply testing his destructive power after the full attribute bonus.
"System, do you have a panel function that displays my information?" he asked aloud.
Being a demon from the start, Luke didn't fully understand his own situation. Having panel information would make it clearer.
As soon as he spoke, a panel appeared before him:
Host: Luke
Race: Skywing Wolf, Demon Wolf Clan
Level: Peak of Minor Commander
Attributes: Wind, Fire, Spatial Dimension
Spiritual Power: Peak of First Order
Status: Growth Stage
Demon Skills: Wind Annihilation, Flame Roar
Bloodline: Descendant of the Ancient Totem Clan's Celestial Star Wolf
Luke examined the panel, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"The original level of the Skywing Wolf was supposed to be Minor Commander, but with the double attribute bonus, I've reached the peak of that level," he thought.
Wind, fire, and spatial attributes—that matched his expectations. High-level demons often possessed space attributes, though their mastery varied.
Overall, his abilities aligned with those of a commander-level demon.
But his bloodline surprised him.
"Ancient Totem Celestial Star Wolf?" he muttered.
The ancestor of the Skywing Wolf was part of a totem lineage.
"Totems, huh?" Luke reflected. It made sense. In the past, the continent was full of totem creatures; there were even sixty-four totems competing for the title of the Four Sacred Beasts.
Since the wars, humans learned magic, and the totem lineage gradually weakened.
It's not unusual that surviving totems, after being eroded by time, turned into demons.
Luke shook his head, deciding not to dwell on it.
"Relying on ancestors isn't going to cut it," he thought. "It's more reliable to embrace the Pregnancy System."
As a transmigrator, Luke knew why totems disappeared.
Becoming a totem was like committing suicide.
At best, he'd end up as Michael's summoned beast.
As a fellow transmigrator, Luke didn't want that fate.
