chapter 18
18 – Episode 4. Special Section.
<10>
The location Baek So-so told me was not too far away. A distance that can be reached by running for about 10 minutes from the restaurant where we had dinner.
“Now… sleep… “
Anyway, I want you to stop the two of them. What the hell is going on? Seeing the sounds of things breaking around, it might be that the two of them are fighting.
It’s a combination of a hot-tempered Alex and a Makina who doesn’t cover this and that, so it’s not strange even if they fight at the slightest opportunity.
“Heo Eok… Ugh…Sleep…”
It was understandable that Baek So-so’s voice was so urgent. The current Baek So-so is a glass mental guy who has not gone through any growth events. Seeing the two of them kick and fight would be insane.
If it is true that the two of them are fighting, then it is necessary to stop it as soon as possible.
Machina is the closest aide to teacher Joo Ji-young. If Alex is taken back to the juvenile detention center, there will be no hopes or dreams in this department.
Before the worst happens, we have to deal with it somehow and shut Makina’s mouth.
With that thought in mind, the moment she tries to increase her speed a little more.
“… Stop!”
Chae Hee-rin screamed from behind.
She stopped her running steps and looked back to see Chae Hee-rin holding her knees and bending her waist, gasping for breath.
Suisei put on her worried face as she approached Chaehee-rin.
“Heerin, are you okay?”
“… Ha… ha… I kept… I told you to stop…”
Chae Hee-rin’s face was covered in sweat as she gasped for breath. Chae Hee Rin’s initial HP is 4, which is the lowest among all characters. Considering that she was such a poor stamina and my number was 6, it might be close to a miracle that she came this far.
I ran much better than I thought, as if it was worth running to the point of gagging every morning. She sweats a little, but not to the point that she just can’t stand it and collapses like Chae Hee-rin.
By the way, Suisei is not sweating.
Her basic stamina level is 13. She’s 3 times higher than the combined stamina of me and Chaehee-rin, so it’s understandable that she’s fine like that.
She might have an influence because she has an ice attribute ability.
“Kasuga, I’ll go first, so I’ll ask you a favor.”
“Will you be okay by yourself?”
“Uh. When he calms down, take him slowly.”
I entrusted Chaehee-rin to Suisei and hurried her steps.
Looking at the gigantic warehouses starting to appear one by one, it seems that we have almost arrived.
The place Baek So-so told me is an area where warehouses are gathered. It was used sparingly as a bully’s hideout, and was one of Leoa’s early fields.
It was a good place to go around in the early days because it paid a lot of money compared to the difficulty of the enemies that appeared.
“… What the hell are you doing?”
I arrive at the place Baek So-so told me about and look around. I could hear someone’s voice faintly nearby.
As I hurriedly ran in the direction from which I heard the sound, what caught my eye was a group of about 10 bullies kneeling in a row with the wall behind them.
“Well then, how far did you go?”
“Now it is the turn of the man with the horn-rimmed glasses.”
“Is that correct?”
“Machina’s memory is accurate.”
And the ones standing in front of it are none other than Makina and Alex. The gang of bullies were trembling all over, not even thinking of meeting the two of them.
“Yes you. I’ve seen this before.”
Alex opened his mouth, holding his phone at one of the bullies wearing horn-rimmed glasses. What was reflected on the screen of the cell phone was a photo of Booster Ju Ji-young showed.
“No… doesn’t exist.”
“Really? Think carefully. You won’t remember anything.”
“Machina has no mercy for those who lie. Abyoot-! No see.”
Machina strikes a pose that looks like something out of a martial arts movie and punches in the air.
It seemed like a cute little child playing a prank, but as she heard the sound cutting through the air, the thugs’ complexions turned blue.
Looking closely, the faces of the bullies all swelled up like chestnuts.
And those two are probably the culprits.
“I don’t know. I really don’t know!”
“Really? But why did the testimony that this was seen here come out?”
“Not us! How many groups like us are on this side!”
“Then tell me which group you are suspicious of. Lately, I’ve touched some money, or my abilities have improved. There will be nothing.”
“That….”
A bully who doesn’t know what to say.
“There is something. Right?”
“If you don’t want to talk, you don’t have to.”
Seeing that reaction, Alex and Makina’s eyes lit up like beasts of prey.
“Friends can’t be sold. What kind of that good. Please, I hope that friendship lasts forever.”
“Machina was moved by the tearful friendship.”
Alex grinned and grabbed the horn-rimmed collar and lifted it up. The moment my clenched fist rose high into the air, I spoke to the back of his head.
“Let’s do that.”
“Huh? What are you doing- Oh, Lee Shi-hyeok.”
Alex, who was growling and turning his head, recognized my face and relaxed his expression before greeting me.
“What the hell are you doing?”
“That’s right, Joo Si-yeong. She’s working hard at what she ordered.”
“Machina is faithfully carrying out the mission given by the teacher.”
“… It’s done, so let’s do it. Time is precious.”
When I said that, the cringe-worthy bullies looked up at me with expressions like they had met a savior.
“Now you are talking about information coming out? There is no better way than this. Isn’t that right, pink-haired kid?”
“Machina is not a child, but Machina, but I fully agree with you.”
Looks like they were gathering information by defeating random bully groups in the area. Anyway, did these two get along so well? Breathing is very smooth.
I smiled and looked around. But I can’t see a single person who should be here.
“Baeksoso is.”
“Oh, that silver-haired kid?”
Alex said, loosening his grip on his collar.
“He’s hiding behind a warehouse over there. I don’t want a guy who wants to be a hero because he’s so weak.”
“It could be weak, well.”
I said that and turned straight to the warehouse Alex had mentioned. Just before he was about to take his foot off, Alex asked in a low voice.
“Since I said it was a waste of time. There must be a way, Lee Si-hyuk?”
“Yes.”
As I turned my head and answered that, some of the thugs on their knees let out a sigh of relief. Then, after meeting Makina’s gaze, he hid and laid his eyes on the floor again.
“But try doing a little more. I’ll come and see some white cows.”
“Really? I get it. Whose turn is it now?”
“Maybe it’s the turn of this skinhead bully, Makina-.”
Leaving behind the screams of the bullies, I moved in search of a white cow.
<11>
Behind the warehouse. Bai Suso was sitting on the floor with his head bowed, holding him on his knees.
“What are you doing there?”
“Ah, senior.”
Baeksoso’s voice is faintly trembling.
“Are you okay?”
“It’s not okay. No one is answering messages or calls.”
I scratched my head at those words.
It’s not my responsibility, but Baek So-so wouldn’t have been so surprised if he had been contacted in time.
“Ah, it’s not the senior’s fault. It has to be done within the same group and it is my responsibility. First of all, I want to be a hero, so I shouldn’t be so frightened by a fight like that.”
“It could be.”
I murmured as I sat down next to the white cow. Baek So-so noticed my presence and turned her head slightly to look at me. Tears welled up in her narrow eyes.
“Are you pathetic?”
“Well, it’s fine. I am still a student.”
“… But I am.”
“Because it’s okay.”
I waved my hand and interrupted Baeksoso.
“Just rest a little and you will be fine.”
Baek So-so was born as a weak child who was afraid of conflict. If it was his original nature, he wouldn’t have even thought of becoming a hero on this academy island.
And he didn’t even have to be a hero. Biyeon-ryu’s successor was originally not Baekso-so, but the 10-year-old elder brother of the lumber that everyone expected.
“You don’t have to beat yourself up too much.”
After her older brother died in the first battle with the Irregular, Baek Su-so volunteered to become the new successor of the Bi-yeon-ryu to fill the vacancy.
Baek So-so must have been more painful and sad than anyone else. But even in the midst of that heartache, I made that decision to encourage the people around me.
“Okay?”
“… Yes.”
Baek So-so nodded his head as if he had regained his energy.
This guy is obviously weak and cowardly, but that doesn’t mean he’s weak. Because if Baek So-so was a weak guy, he wouldn’t even think of walking the hard road for the sake of those around him.
This guy will make a great hero. I’ll watch it through to the end.
“Then cry a little longer, wipe your tears and come back slowly.”
“What will you do, senior?”
I stroked Baeksoso’s hair once, as if torturing it, and stood up.
“I have to put an end to that inefficient thing.”
When I returned to the previous place, a violent duo was excitedly beating people.
“Okay, whose turn is next?”
“It’s the turn of that checkered bully over there.”
Who the hell is a bully?
I ambled in between the two of them, then stood up the horn-rimmed bully, whose face was more disfigured from being beaten so badly.
“You can send the rest now. I’ll find out everything from him.”
“He didn’t open his mouth?”
Alex looked at me with a puzzled expression, but I replied with a smile.
“All you need is one.”
So I took Horn Rim and went into a nearby alley. Even as Hornte groans in pain, his body trembles and he looks at me.
Since I saw Alex obediently listening to me, I must have thought I was similar to Alex.
“You don’t have to be so nervous. Just listen to me carefully.”
“I…I’m really nothing-.”
“I know, I know. Don’t know anything are you okay. Because I know.”
I tapped the horn-rimmed shoulder and continued his words.
“Just scream loudly.”
Because that will end the fastest.
