Chapter 72: An ancestor's journey
One day, I was in my world, in my time. Over the years, I grew older, and after a long life, I died. When I opened my eyes, I didn't go to Heaven or Hell, but to another era—a very ancient time, where the ancestors of the human species lived. But it was different from what I or anyone else knew. There were geographical changes, the art of an unknown civilization, strange animals never discovered before, and, most unexpectedly, modern animals like cows, which shouldn't exist in that location or time. None of it made sense to me.
Moreover, I didn't just go to a strange place and time—I also changed species. Now, I am an Australopithecus. Even now, I have my doubts, but with the information I've gathered and comparisons I've made, I believe I'm closer to being a hairy Homo than a true Australopithecus.
After some twists and conflicts, I am now the leader of a tribe. Using my knowledge, I improved and taught them. I noticed that the members of my tribe have an extremely fast learning capacity, with some being as impressive as normal humans. I divided them into groups: one focused on combat, another on creation, and another on culture. Essentially, they are soldiers, scientists, and artists. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really on Earth in the past or somewhere else that only resembles it.
After some preparation, I began a journey in search of better lands. The work was hard since it was a group of monkeys pulling Chinese-style carts. In some ways, it was hilarious, but also very exhausting. Along the way, I encountered various species of animals, the most prominent being the Piluscastaneum.
After reaching and crossing what I believe to be Lake Tanganyika, I began to suspect that not only I but others from my time had also come here. While I am aware of only one and theorize about those guardians, I believe I made contact with another. What makes me think this is that he was like Scar. Even though he was of the same species, he had something that made him different—just like Scar, the giant crocodile I managed to defeat.
The crocodile was intelligent, not just with natural, instinctive intelligence but with reasoning ability. Despite finding highly intelligent members in my tribe, other non-primate species were quite ordinary, except for the giant crocodile.
Well, after that, I encountered Scar's tribe. In addition to finally meeting someone from my time, I also encountered the "Enraged Ones," monkeys who had lost their sanity and attacked anything foreign. I seriously thought I was going to die at their hands. But, after fleeing, I survived.
Then Scar made a very strange proposal. Honestly, I have no idea what he wants with this, but I've lived long enough not to believe that he would give me an entire tribe just because he thinks I'm better suited to lead than he is. Even though he's not wrong, this sudden decision doesn't feel right to me. I know he's hiding something, but I have no idea what it is.
At this moment, we are tied. Aurélio won against Snow, while in the second round, Max, Jason, Luke, Milie, Hélio, and Dilan lost to Jack, Qin, Quitéria, and seven other members. Because of this, I will have to face Scar. I am confident that I will defeat him, but I know it will not be an easy task.
