Chapter 7

" What is the meaning of this" Alpha Carlos demanded as soon as they got to his study.

As Lana was dragged to the dungeon, alpha Carlos walked to his son and whispered in his ear.

" My study now" Through gritted teeth, he immediately turned and smiled at the guest like everything was okay, some wondered if what they just saw before their very own eyes was just another ordinary day-to-day happenings.

He had to remain cool and collected in front of his pack or they would start to doubt his position as alpha.

As he was about to walk away with his son in tow when one of the pack heads blocked him with a fake worried face.

" What is going on alpha, who is that girl and what connection does she have with the future alpha" he asked as others came around to listen too.

It seems they did not hear what the girl and his son were talking about and for that, he was relieved, 

" Well...I don't know who she_, she might be one of my son's ex-girlfriends, you know how crazy and desperate girls these days are for power "The alpha quickly covered up, if the pack got a whiff of what happened, they would be a problem.

" Oh, is that it, I thought she was the next Luna since your son hasn't found his Luna yet, you know he can't take over without a Luna and_" 

" I know I know, I'm about to talk to my son about th_"

" You know with a Luna like that we would become one of the most feared packs" he continued, cutting Carlos off. Alpha Carlos glares at him.

' why can't this fool shut his mouth and get out of the way' he thought but he just forced a smile and tried to side step but he was blocked again.

" You know we could _" 

" My son and I are heading to my study now to talk about her so if you would excuse me" the alpha shrugged him away and left with his son, leaving the glaring man behind.

" What is the meaning of this "Alpha Carlos demanded, diamond was kneeling on the ground with his head bent.

" Why didn't you consult me first, look at how you disgraced me in front of everybody" Alpha Carlos glared at his quiet son, but the silence only made him furious, he raised his hand and slapped him across his face and roared.

" Speak you insolent fool" 

" Am sorry Father" Diamond sprawled on the floor pleaded although half-heartedly, he was already thinking of what excuse he was going to give his friends and girlfriends when they saw the mark on his face, he was not going to tell anybody that he was beaten by his father, Because he rejected his own mate, that would be stupid, he doesn't want to become a laughing stock.

"You are Sorry? How is your 'sorry' going to fix this, why can't you be wise and strong like your brother, at least his response" Alpha Carlos was interrupted by Diamond.

" Then why don't you make him alpha instead, his your golden son after all, he runs off for days and you don't complain, but I do something and you want to tear my head off" Diamond exploded with tears in his eyes.

He knew he was weak, he knew he was lacking brains, but why couldn't his father not see that he was trying his best, he hated alpha duty but he was pushing himself just to get a single acknowledging smile from his father but no, he was just not good enough.

Alpha Carlos stared at his son for a while, he was honestly stunned, he didn't know what he was going to say anymore.

" Ok, let's start from the beginning, why did you reject her" he balanced his weight on the side of the table.

" She's blind," he said looking down.

The alpha narrowed his eyes, now that he said it, he understood his son's perspective. 

He felt a little guilty but he was never going to apologize.

A blind mate is the same as no mate, a blind mate would just drag an alpha down, they were weak and over-dependent.

" But she's powerful" Alpha Carlos stated.

" I didn't know she was, I only figured that out after I had already rejected her, it's not like her powers were written on her forehead," he said turning away from his father.

For the first time in a long time, both father and son saw eye to eye on a topic.

" So wha_"

The door burst open and a disheveled Damon ran in, he had a black eye and torn lips, the two began to wander when he was hit in the eye. 

" What happened to your lips and eyes" his father asked in concern earning a wicked eye from the diamond.

Damon paused and touched his eyes as if suddenly realizing.

" Uh, I fought," he said simply, not adding any necessary information.

" With who" Diamond asked in wander, his brother was not one to fight

" That not important, where is she" he asked stalking his father in anger.

For some reason their skin crawled when they look at him, Damon was not someone to be crossed when pissed.

As he walked to his father like a predator, black claws ripped out of his fingers. When he got closer to his father, his brother backed away, he wasn't about to get involved, but Damon had other thoughts.

Before anyone could blink his claws were wrapped around Diamond's throat, and blood dripped slowly from where the claws were.

Diamond was scared out of his mind, he didn't doubt that his brother could kill him at any time.

" Please" he chocked our coughing up blood

" Where. Is. She?" Damon demanded slowly

" A..s.k fa..ther" Diamond's eyes were already rolling back before Damon dropped him.

Before Damon could ask again his father hurriedly told him

" In the wolf dungeon"

 When he heard 'the wolf' Damon roared

" How dare you, " he turned his menacing stare to his father.

Diamond slowly regained his senses and he scrambled away when he heard the roar, alpha Carlos tried to put on a brave front.

" She was about to attack your brother_" 

" Then you would have let her kill him, he is useless anyway" Damon stated

" How can you say that about your brother" Alpha Carlos snarled

" It's the truth isn't it" Damon replied in a menacing voice shutting his father up.

He gave his father and brother one last stare before bursting out of the room the same way he came i.n 

Carlos took one look at the window just in time to see his son pass by before walking to the door. 

Diamond coughed hoping to remind his father that he was still there.

The alpha glances at his son before saying.

" Pick yourself up and stop laying there like a fool" 

He left his son there to tent to himself

Diamond stares at his father in hatred, he has already thought of a thousand ways to kill his father.

Before he could stand the floors shook.
