Bleach: Shadows of Destiny

The next day, Karakura Town returned to its usual tranquility. The large-scale Hollow attack from yesterday had not attracted the attention of ordinary people. After Urahara's group, which included Yamahiko and Yoruichi, intervened, the attacks by Hollows on people disappeared as if they had never happened. Additionally, with Uryū Ishida and Ichigo Kurosaki's help, even the Menos Grande was driven back into the Hueco Mundo.

At Karakura High School, Ichigo Kurosaki returned to the classroom. His relationship with Uryu Ishida had grown closer due to the events of the previous day.

After the danger had passed, many people let their guard down and became somewhat careless.

However, just as a taut string, once relaxed, can easily lose the ability to withstand the force of impact, so too can the slightest lapse in vigilance lead to unforeseen consequences.

In the afternoon, Rukia noticed she was being pursued. As a result, in the evening, she left a letter at Kurosaki's house and then, carrying her backpack, departed.

Yamahiko followed behind Rukia the entire time, wearing a black cloak that made him invisible to others. He watched as Rukia left the street, crossed the embankment, and ran off into the distance. 

Until, a figure appeared in front of her.

[Renji calls out to Rukia.] - img

"Rukia Kuchiki, I finally found you," Renji Abarai declared as he leaped down from the air, brandishing a long blade and fixing his gaze on Rukia.

Rukia dodged the blade by leaning back and, as she looked at the newcomer, exclaimed in shock, "Renji!"

Renji appeared before her and asked, "Tell me, where is the person who took away your powers?"

[Renji demands to know where Ichigo is.] -img

Rukia looked at Renji hesitantly and replied, "Just because I'm wearing a Gigai doesn't mean my powers were stolen."

Renji continued, "Otherwise, there is no way you would have such a human expression on your face!"

He chuckled and added, "Are you still pretending? Your situation has been reported back to the Soul Society by the Onmitsukidō. It's not being handled by the Stealth Corps but rather by me and Captain Kuchiki. We've been quite lenient. Looking so human, there's no way that's a good thing! Isn't that right, Captain Kuchiki?"

At that moment, Byakuya Kuchiki appeared behind Rukia.

It was still the two of them—Renji Abarai and Byakuya Kuchiki. It seemed that Renji had joined the Sixth Division and become the Vice-Captain.

"Brother ...Byakuya?" Rukia called out loudly upon seeing Byakuya.

Byakuya replied softly, "Rukia."

At that moment, Renji rushed forward again, swinging his blade at Rukia, but she managed to dodge it.

"Passing on Shinigami powers to a Human is a grave crime. So, hurry up and tell me, where is the person who stole your Shinigami powers?" Renji demanded as he attacked Rukia.

However, Rukia was unwilling to reveal Ichigo's whereabouts, leaving her with no choice but to be pursued by Renji.

Renji and Rukia share a strong bond as childhood friends who studied together. Even after Rukia entered the Kuchiki family and they grew apart, their friendship remained unbroken.

Renji's motivation for his actions is rooted in his determination to bring Rukia back. Despite being sent by the Central 46, which usually involves the Onmitsukidō Assassination Squad for criminals like Rukia, there was a sense of leniency in this case.

Renji believes that by killing the person who took Rukia's powers, they might receive a more lenient judgment from the Central 46. 

This also explains his surprise upon learning of Rukia's death sentence upon returning to Seireitei.

Yamahiko understood Renji's actions as justifiable. Renji's intention was never to kill Rukia; he remained faithful to his duty throughout.

Suddenly, during the confrontation between Renji and Rukia, a beam of light shot out, deflecting Renji's sword. Standing before everyone was Uryu Ishida.

Following the original plot, Uryu is quickly defeated. With the help of Kisuke, Ichigo finds Rukia.

After a tough battle, Ichigo is knocked down but then unleashes his full strength, injuring Renji, who is at only one-fifth of his full power.

In the end, Byakuya uses one hand to break Ichigo's Zanpakuto.

Afterward, Byakuya and Renji take Rukia Kuchiki with them.

In the darkness not far away, Kisuke stood with one hand on his hat. "I've done as you said, bringing Ichigo Kurosaki here, but it seems he's no match at all. All captains and vice-captains who have come to the human world have only one-fifth of their spiritual power. If Ichigo can't even defeat a vice-captain, are you sure you want him to go to the Soul Society and be involved in your plan as well?"

With Yamahiko as a powerful force, Urahara no longer pinned his hopes on Ichigo, except for being interested in seeing Ichigo's growth.

However, Yamahiko insisted on Ichigo going to the Soul Society because you never know how much he can pull through—no, it's because Ichigo Kurosaki can play a tank role.

Yamahiko said, "Ichigo has tremendous potential. His reiatsu is not inferior to that of a vice-captain-level shinigami. Please, Urahara-san, take Ichigo away and gather Yasutora Sado, Uryū Ishida, and Orihime Inoue together. Let them all go to the Soul Society."

Urahara replied, "Hmm, the execution of a prisoner in the central underground prison typically takes a month. I'm planning to train Ichigo for ten days. It takes seven days to open the gate to the Soul Society, so we'll have thirteen days left. That should be enough, right?"

"That's enough," Yamahiko said softly as he turned and walked away. "Please inform me before we depart."

"I will," replied Urahara Kisuke.

Urahara Kisuke watched Yamahiko's departing figure, touched his nose, and despite Yamahiko constantly giving orders, it seemed like he had everything under control.

But Urahara Kisuke understood. Yamahiko was nervous, extremely nervous, which was why he acted this way.

As a light rain began to fall from the sky, Urahara Kisuke took out an umbrella, walked to the side of the unconscious Ichigo, shielded him from the rain, and then carried him away.

Yamahiko returned to the Visored base, went back to his room, washed up, and then lay down on the bed, closing his eyes to sleep.

Urahara would train Ichigo for ten days, with an additional seven days needed to open the gate to the Soul Society. During these seventeen days, Yamahiko had no plans other than to rest.

Adjusting his mindset, Yamahiko, who had always harbored some fear toward Aizen, knew he needed to adjust his mentality when confronting him.

Carefully considering his plans, he ensured that everything was foolproof and left himself three to four backup plans.

Rest and recuperation were essential for him to restore himself to peak condition.

During the seventeen days, Yamahiko focused solely on these three things.

On the day of departure, Yoruichi appeared beside him in her black cat form. 

Without a word, Yamahiko picked up his Zanpakuto, donned his black cloak, and left the room. 

At the door, all the members of the Visored appeared.

Hiyori Sarugaki said angrily, "You must kill that guy, Aizen."

Mashiro Kuna added, "Yeah, you have to avenge Mashiro."

Kensei Muguruma said, "But don't die, you little punk."

Hachigen Ushōda said, "If you can't win, then retreat. There's always a next time as long as you are alive."

Each person said a few words to Yamahiko until Lisa Yadōmaru approached him, hugged him, and said, "Yamahiko, take care."

Yamahiko looked at them, cracked a smile, revealing his white teeth, and said, "I will."

He walked out of the warehouse with Yoruichi by his side, and their figures disappeared into the darkness.
