BLOOD OATHS:THE BOND FAR FROM BLOOD AND SOUL

Chapter 13: chapter 13:Bonds Tested in Shadows

Episode 13: "Bonds Tested in Shadows"

The streets of Karnataka were cloaked in the faint glow of moonlight, a pale reflection of the tension brewing beneath the surface. DNS leaned against the hood of a sleek black car, his sharp eyes scanning the dark alleyways around him. His cigarette glowed faintly in the dim light, the only sign of movement in the stillness of the night.

Beside him, Neel paced nervously, his fists clenched and his brows furrowed. The events of the last few days had rattled them all, and now, they were at a breaking point. The Vajra Syndicate was under siege—not by enemies, but by the weight of betrayal, ambition, and secrets.

"Do you think they'll show up?" Neel asked, breaking the silence.

DNS took a long drag from his cigarette, exhaling a cloud of smoke into the cool night air. "They don't have a choice," he said calmly. "This meeting isn't optional."

Neel stopped pacing, his eyes narrowing. "And if they don't?"

DNS flicked the cigarette to the ground, crushing it under his boot. "Then we hunt them down. Every last one of them."

The Call to Arms

Earlier that evening, a clandestine message had been sent to every division leader in the Vajra Syndicate. The note was simple: "Midnight. The Warehouse. No excuses."

The tension within the syndicate had reached a boiling point. Whispers of discontent and rumors of disloyalty had spread like wildfire, fueled by recent skirmishes with Kazuma's Crimson Serpents. DNS knew that to hold his syndicate together, he needed answers—and he needed them now.

As the clock struck midnight, the warehouse began to fill with the sound of approaching vehicles. One by one, the division leaders arrived, their faces grim and their postures tense. Neel stood by the entrance, watching as Lily, Roxy, Kyan, and Congruency stepped inside, their eyes searching for DNS.

The last to arrive was Kiran, his expression unreadable as he slipped into the room. DNS's gaze locked onto him, a silent question hanging in the air.

The Confrontation

The warehouse was cold and dimly lit, the air thick with anticipation. DNS stood at the center of the room, his presence commanding as always. The division leaders formed a loose circle around him, their expressions a mix of loyalty and unease.

"Let's get one thing straight," DNS began, his voice low but filled with authority. "The Vajra Syndicate isn't just a gang. It's a family. And families don't survive without trust."

He let the words hang in the air, his sharp gaze sweeping across the room. "But lately, trust has been... lacking. Whispers of betrayal. Leaks to the enemy. People questioning my leadership."

The tension in the room was palpable. DNS's words were cutting, his tone unforgiving.

"I called you all here tonight to make one thing clear," he continued, his voice rising. "If you're with me, you're with me all the way. No half-measures. No divided loyalties. And if you're not..." He let the sentence trail off, the threat implicit.

Neel stepped forward, his voice steady despite the anger simmering beneath it. "We've been fighting on too many fronts. The Crimson Serpents. The Thunder Fang Syndicate. And now... this?"

Kyan, the leader of the Shadow Ravens, nodded in agreement. "We can't afford division. If there's a rat among us, we need to find them—fast."

A Test of Loyalty

Kiran shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting between DNS and the others. He had always been the youngest among them, eager to prove himself but prone to overreaching. Now, he found himself under scrutiny, the weight of suspicion pressing down on him.

"Kiran," DNS said, his voice calm but sharp. "You've been... quiet lately. Got anything you'd like to share?"

All eyes turned to Kiran, the air in the room growing heavier by the second. He swallowed hard, his mind racing.

"I've done nothing but fight for this syndicate," he said, his voice shaking slightly. "I've put my life on the line time and time again. If you think I'm the problem, then you don't know me at all."

Roxy stepped forward, her tone more measured. "We're not accusing you, Kiran. But we need to be sure. The Crimson Serpents always seem to know our moves before we make them. Someone's feeding them information."

Kiran's eyes flared with anger. "And you think it's me? After everything I've done?"

DNS raised a hand, silencing the brewing argument. "This isn't about accusations," he said firmly. "It's about finding the truth. And the truth always comes out."

The Interrogation

As the night wore on, the tension only deepened. DNS questioned each leader in turn, his sharp mind picking apart their alibis and motivations. Kyan detailed the steps his intelligence division had taken to root out the leaks, while Congruency outlined the recent weapons deals he had overseen.

Lily spoke of the injuries she had treated, her role as the syndicate's medic putting her far from the battlefield. Roxy recounted a recent ambush her Blazing Fangs had led, her voice steady but tinged with frustration.

When it was Kiran's turn, he met DNS's gaze with defiance. "I've done everything you've asked of me," he said, his voice steady despite the tension in the room. "If you can't see that, then maybe I don't belong here."

DNS studied him for a long moment, his expression unreadable. "Maybe you don't," he said finally, his tone cold.

The Revelation

Just as the meeting seemed on the verge of boiling over, a phone buzzed in Kyan's pocket. He pulled it out, his expression shifting as he read the message.

"We've got a lead," he said, his voice breaking the silence. "One of our informants spotted a Crimson Serpents operative near our safehouse."

DNS's eyes narrowed. "Let's move."

The syndicate members sprang into action, the earlier tension momentarily set aside. They piled into vehicles, the roar of engines shattering the night's stillness.

Into the Night

The safehouse was a modest building on the outskirts of the city, its nondescript exterior hiding the secrets within. As the syndicate approached, DNS signaled for silence.

They moved as one, their steps quiet but purposeful. DNS led the way, his sharp instincts guiding him. Neel was close behind, his fists clenched and ready.

Inside, the safehouse was dark and silent, the air thick with tension. DNS signaled for the group to spread out, each member searching for signs of the intruder.

It was Neel who found him—a Crimson Serpents operative crouched near a stack of crates, a laptop open in front of him. The man looked up in shock, but before he could react, Neel lunged, pinning him to the ground.

"Got him!" Neel shouted, his voice echoing through the building.

DNS was there in an instant, his cold eyes locking onto the man. "Talk," he said, his voice deadly.

The operative hesitated, but one look at DNS's expression was enough to break him. "It's Kiran," he blurted out. "He's been feeding us your movements. But... he's not working for us. He's working for someone bigger."

The Fallout

The words hung in the air, a bombshell that shattered the fragile trust within the syndicate. DNS turned to Kiran, his expression a mix of fury and betrayal.

"Kiran," he said, his voice dangerously quiet. "Is this true?"

Kiran's face was pale, his eyes wide with fear. "I... I didn't... It's not what it looks like!"

But DNS wasn't listening. His hand shot out, grabbing Kiran by the collar and slamming him against the wall. "You betrayed us," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "You betrayed me."

The room was silent, the weight of DNS's words suffocating.
