Chapter 119: Solo Hunting

When Ezekiel and the coven appeared outside of the dungeon the first thing they did was check their rewards.

Ezekiel was shocked to see that this dungeon actually dropped mythril quality gear just like the nightmare difficulty dungeon in Raylock.

Due to the solo runs he did in the past as well as the runs he completed with allies he actually had a piece of mythril mage gear, the team he was in before knew that he didn't exactly need it but neither did hope so he got it as payment for his help.

When looking at this treasure pool however he saw many gold quality items as well as two of the mythril quality.

When looking at the npcs he felt kind of bad since he knew he could solo the dungeon now but he still needed the gold.

Then he had a genius idea.

"Hey how about instead of giving me any gear we just agree on a number that you can pay me eventually?"

The coven looked at him in suspicion before answering.

"How much..."

"Well I am trying to complete a task that requires I make a lot of money through my own efforts so how about whatever you ladies feel is a fair amount for some of the gold gear?"

He then leaves their team and with a wave leaps into the sky to return to the tent inn he was told to stay in while the queen was away.

While in his room he looked at his notifications about the chance to evolve his race once again.

He accepted the evolution and lay down to prepare but a strange notification stopped him.

~~~~~~~~~~
E̵͖̚r̸̢̊r̵̬̊ọ̸͗r̷̤̉.̴̰̾
Your level is to low to evolve into a higher form of void beast young one, you must grow further.
Consume more.
Gain more power.
You are not yet ready for the full might of the void element.
E̵͖̚r̸̢̊r̵̬̊ọ̸͗r̷̤̉.̴̰̾
Evolution unable to proceed, converting evolution reward into optional reward list.
~~~~~~~~~~

He saw a few options but one of them stood out above the others.

"Optional Reward: Item Quality Improvement Scroll."

With this he realized that he had the perfect way to make money.

"System, please add the scroll to auction for me. I would like you to act as an intermediary for anonymity."

The scroll vanished from his inventory and soon the auction screen he had access to through the system got a notification.

~~~~~~~~~~
Unique Grade Item has been placed on the auction list.
"Item Quality Improvement Scroll."
Auction will take place in twelve hours to allow all interested parties to take part.
~~~~~~~~~~

"Hey uh system? Please don't allow any members of the church faction to buy it, I don't want to unintentionally aid the enemy."

~~~~~~~~~~
Notice: system has blocked all potential sales between the relevant parties when the war was declared.
All contracts between warring factions that do not go through the system as an intermediary are discontinued.
~~~~~~~~~~

Well that was a relief.

He was excited to see how much money he would be getting when he suddenly sa the notification on server shutdown in twelve hours.

'Guess I have to wait till tomorrow huh?'

He rolled his eyes at this but turned back to the direction of the dungeon.

He couldn't evolve but he could increase his class rank... he hoped.

He left the tent and flew into the air with his sights on the dungeon again.

'Lv500. She told me that I would raise my class at lv500 so that's my next goal.'

~

When facing the dungeon entrance he began to wonder if he should go into a higher difficulty.

He knew that he had not consumed every target in the dungeon because the notifications for experience gave him an idea of how many targets there were.

If he went into the hard mode he could probably consume more targets since they had more health and therefore gave him more chances to activate the consumed effect.

It also meant the stats he gained would be higher.

He made the decision to enter the hard mode and get more reward from it since he had twelve hours.

Upon entering the hard mode he immediately noticed that it was difficult to breathe with the thick smog that hovered in the air.

Everywhere he looked there was poison mana that hung in the air as a cloud, some of these clouds were denser than others and these clouds caused him actual damage rather than discomfort.

He made the decision to start absorbing the poison mana in his cultivation to try to gain the affinity now.

It was a slow process and the elementally infused mana entering his body gave him some negative effects but he felt he was close to gaining the affinity.

As he finished with this area he started his fires.

He lept into the sky to wait for the weak enemies but this dungeons recommended level in hard mode was five hundred meaning he would be facing monsters that were significantly stronger than him at some point.

The bat swarm however...

He shredded through the swarm by simply cloaking himself in shadowfire and letting them attack his barrier covered body.

A few of them even got consumed by the shadows which gave him an idea of what stat he should hope to get from them.

Each bat gave him an average of twenty to thirty strength, ten to twenty intelligence and fourty to fifty vitality but the agility was in the thousands.

He didn't know what these creatures got for their stats but clearly they put everything into agility.

As the fires burned across the forest he helped by weakening the enemies on the ground.

Occasionally he would hear the notification for experience or he would see the 'target consumed' screen that indicated he had grown stronger.

This process contiued until he saw the first ant tree.

He had been thinking about the best way to kill the queen in these trees so he flew to the sky directly above and began to unleash volleys of voided frenzy wing needles into the top.

He figured that eventually he would get the flames to enter a gap in the trunks that braided together to form this twisted tree.

The ants swarmed the ground and the tree but he just kept launching the needles.

He eventually reached the point where he could no longer see the tree beneath the fire and the swarm so he just pulled back to watch the chaos.

He also saw that his fires were spreading across the swamp like a plague.

His flames burned across the land while he listened to the tree steam from the escaping fluids of the slain ants.

He waited while he kept gaining more and more vitality from the ant swarm but eventually the notifications stopped.

He moved himself down to look into the tree but he saw nothing even after clearing the flames.

'I guess they went underground...'

He threw a few voided frenzy bombs into the tree to start the fires again before he flew into the sky to start breaking into the nest.

He began to create a voided frenzy star while he launched needles into the ground, he focused on shooting them into the dirt at an angle so that when he threw the star in it would cause the ground to be launched away.

The issue was that the dirt was not being forced out of the hole eventually.

'God an earth element would be so useful right now. Earth element mages will be necessary in the future.'

He continued his destruction while thinking about how bad it felt to have to use small explosions to clear away dirt before he finally felt it was deep enough to throw the star in.

He slowly floated to the ground and threw the star into the hole as hard as he could.

When the construct left his hands he flew back into the air to watch the chaos unfold.

The ground bulged from the force of it before being ripped open and launching clouds of dirt wreathed in black flame across the clearing.

This seemed to send the ants into another defensive frenzy as the large headed soldiers appeared with little workers, they spit little globs of venom at him but they did not have the range to harm anything but eachother as he created another star.

While he made this second mana construct he dropped void bombs to either force the ants away or kill them during the process.

Eventually he completed the construct and flew down some to try to aim at another hole, he found a tunnel that seemed unguarded so he threw it in from above.

His aim wasn't the best but since he could use mana to keep it from detonation immediately he decided to let it bounce into the tunnels.

He waited five seconds before letting the mana release the star.

This time the ground seemed to shudder while the earth cracked from the force, he got hundreds of notifications in an instant but what truly shocked him was the wah the ants began to swarm the area from other tunnels.

They did not try to keep rebuilding anymore and even the workers tried to jump and bite at him from dozens of feet away.

'Guess I killed something important.'
