Chapter 4
The divorce agreement—Chen Yumo had signed his name.
When Wen Yusheng returned, he could hand it to him. He didn’t want to force him, just wanted him to be happy.
Since Wen Yusheng wanted freedom, he gave it to him.
At that time, little Niangao had just woken up and was sitting obediently in the baby carriage, drinking milk. The last dish had just come out of the pot when little Niangao suddenly cried.
The phone rang immediately. The caller informed him that Wen Yusheng had been in a car accident and was now being rescued.
Chen Yumo’s hands trembled as he quickly picked up the child, grabbed some clothes, and rushed out the door.
The dishes on the table slowly turned cold, and the divorce agreement Chen Yumo had signed sat conspicuously in the middle of the table.
When Wen Yusheng was rescued on the operating table, Chen Yumo held the sleeping little Niangao outside the operating room. At that moment, he thought that divorce was fine—as long as his sweetheart could be healthy and safe, nothing else mattered.
When Wen Yusheng woke up, he was told that he had amnesia. Strangely, Chen Yumo didn’t feel worried. He didn’t dare to tell anyone, but in his heart, he felt happy and fortunate. Didn’t this mean he could make Wen Yusheng fall in love with him all over again?
Of course, lies would eventually be exposed one day. But Chen Yumo wasn’t afraid. He just wanted to stay by his darling’s side for as long as possible—for a long, long time.
Perhaps he had been too exhausted. Chen Yumo leaned against the door and fell asleep. Their ward was on the highest level, and generally, no one would come up. Besides, Chen Yumo had already instructed the hospital staff to keep the area quiet.
This was, after all, the hospital he had invested in. On the surface, it was a private nursing home, but in reality, it functioned as a semi-hospital.
When he suddenly woke up, Chen Yumo picked up his phone and looked at the time. Two hours had passed. He panicked—Little Niangao must have woken up long ago!
Jumping to his feet, Chen Yumo quickly opened the door and walked in. He saw little Niangao sitting on Wen Yusheng’s lap, giggling.
When alone with little Niangao, Wen Yusheng acted naturally. After being awakened by the little one, his muscle memory kicked in. He instinctively picked him up from the small bed, cradling him in his arms while gently coaxing, “Little Niangao~ Papa got you~ Don’t cry, don’t cry~”
It felt natural—too natural. At that moment, Wen Yusheng no longer dared to deny that this was his own child.
After all, where else would memories so deeply engraved in his bones come from?
When Chen Yumo walked in and saw this scene, it felt as though he had been transported back in time. For a moment, he froze in place.
Wen Yusheng, feeling a bit embarrassed, sat on the bed with his broad shoulders and strong frame, awkwardly holding the small meat dumpling in the air.
“Here! Your son!” he said.
Little Niangao found this novel! His little round belly pressed against Wen Yusheng’s palm as his short arms and legs flailed about. It was as though he had returned to the fetal position. He laughed even harder.
Chen Yumo’s expression darkened as he quickly took little Niangao from Wen Yusheng. Standing up, he gently patted the baby’s back.
Wen Yusheng couldn’t see the discomfort on Chen Yumo’s face. He only assumed that Chen Yumo was worried he hadn’t handled the baby carefully enough and might have hurt him.
‘Tsk—!’
‘Who cares!’
‘He’s not even my baby!’
Perhaps before losing his memory, Wen Yusheng might have felt differently. But his memory now remained stuck in his college years, where he had been a straightforward, no-nonsense guy—someone who wouldn’t even consider handling things so delicately.
He knew Chen Yumo was a little upset. After all, it was his child.
