Chapter 31: Blue Mountains
To be fair, what Bilbo said was indeed correct.
A lot of things have happened in the past few months. Levi has killed hundreds of orcs with his own hands.
He has also successfully transformed from a rookie who knows nothing to a veteran who can fight calmly in various occasions. Although he has not fought any large-scale battles, various assaults and sneak attacks often come.
After many battles, Levi's temperament has undergone a transformation unknowingly.
"You look like you have been to a far place. Is there anything new, Levi?"
"A lot of things have happened." Levi sighed.
Seeing Levi like this, Bilbo knew that the next period of time should not be boring. This chef is very good at telling stories.
"If I had known you were coming, I would have bought some fresh food. Let's eat something else at noon today, and then I will go to the market after eating..."
Bilbo flipped through the shelves where food was stored and had already thought about what to eat in the next few days.
But unfortunately, Levi only stayed here for one day.
The time spent together is always short.
The next morning, Levi got on his horse and prepared to set off.
"Are you really not staying a little longer, Levi?"
Bilbo felt a little sorry.
"Haha, don't worry, Bilbo, we'll meet again."
Bilbo put his hands on his waist and nodded.
Looking at Levi's figure going away, his thoughts also flew to the horizon, thinking about the story Levi told yesterday.
Troll Forest, Orcs, Rivendell, Elves...
All these new things made the Hobbit yearn for it, and even wanted to... No, forget it, adventure? Impossible, this kind of tiring and insecure life is not as comfortable as the days in Bag End.
Shaking his head, Bilbo returned to the house.
However, he still couldn't help looking through the window into the distance.
…
A few days later.
In the woods near the Shuen River, Levi, wearing an elven steel armor, galloped on his horse, avoiding the trees in front, and couldn't help cursing.
"It's really a ghost, how can there be Orcs in this place!"
"Roar!"
And the warg.
At this moment, behind Levi, there were at least a dozen wolves chasing him, five of which were riding on Oaks.
I should have known not to take this shortcut.
With such a small force, Levi was actually not afraid at all.
But his horse was afraid.
Hiss——
When Levi was not paying attention, his horse was shot by an arrow by the archer behind him, and raised its hoof and paused on the spot.
As soon as it paused, a wolf immediately pounced on it and bit the horse's butt hard.
This group of beasts especially likes to bite butts.
"Get lost!"
Levi stabbed back with a sword, and the wolf's head was pierced on the spot, and the body fell behind. Levi turned around and took out wheat to feed the horse to fill up the blood volume.
If it were an ordinary horse, it would have been shot or bitten to death several times along the way.
The Oak behind him screamed and shot another arrow, which brushed Levi's head and shocked Levi so much that his breathing stagnated.
"Tsk."
Seeing that it was no use taking the beating unilaterally, Levi had no choice but to draw his bow and shoot an arrow behind him.
Whoosh——
As expected, the shot went off the target.
"Haha——!"
The Oak chasing behind him laughed.
It must be said that Levi was a little embarrassed that his horse archery skills were not as good as any Oak archer he met on the roadside.
"Laugh, laugh, if I wasn't riding a horse, I would have killed all of you!"
Levi gritted his teeth, but his hand kept pulling the bow.
What he lacked in accuracy was made up for in quantity.
If he shot more, he would always hit one or two.
Anyway, there were a lot of arrows.
Have you ever seen an archer carrying hundreds of arrows?
As the wolves fell to the ground after being shot, the Oak behind him realized that something was wrong.
Does this guy have unlimited arrows?
I don't think I saw where his arrows came from.
"Bah, rubbish, come down and fight if you have the guts!"
An Oak shouted.
"You said it!" Levi jumped off his horse in a lightning speed after bypassing a big tree. He put down several boulders in a row to block the road behind him, and at the same time took the initiative to run back to intercept the wolves who wanted to jump over.
Seeing Levi taking the initiative to deliver himself, the wolves didn't care about the horse blocked by the boulders behind them. They roared and rushed towards Levi, but Levi just chopped down two wolves with a knife left and right.
And these two wolves only bit off a little blood from him, and it was restored in the blink of an eye.
Following these two wolves, a group of late-coming wolves squeezed in one after another, some biting Levi's kidneys, some tearing his thighs, and some even jumping up to gnaw his head. In a few seconds, Levi was full of wolves, but only the occasional -1 proved that they could not cause much damage, and no matter how much they gnawed, they could not recover as fast as Levi.
The greatest damage they caused may be mental attack-making Levi's body full of fishy saliva.
The next thing was easy.
Just kill—and keep killing.
"Ahaha, you're dead!"
Seeing Levi covered in wolves, an orc rushed over and swung his butcher knife to chop him.
However, the next moment, a sword pierced through the body of the wolf and stabbed his throat.
"Damn, it's still biting so hard even after it's dead."
Levi pulled off the wolf hanging on his body and chased after it in the fear of the remaining orcs who realized it belatedly.
[Blue Mountain Dwarf Faction Reputation +15]
[Linton Area Reputation +10]
The reputation increase prompt came, indicating the annihilation of this small group of soldiers.
Levi opened the camp interface, and suddenly found that the reputation of the Linton area had reached 160 at some point, but he didn't seem to have done anything here.
"Huh?"
Levi suddenly discovered something.
It turns out that the reputation of Linton and Rivendell is interoperable.
But it's normal to think about it. These two were originally separated from the same family, so it's reasonable to be considered as one camp.
It's also a good relationship in Linton.
As for the dwarves.
At present, at least the dwarves in the Blue Mountains have reached a friendly attitude towards themselves, so there is no need to worry about being questioned.
Knock off the cobblestone and get on the horse.
Levi continued to the west and soon came to the river.
After crossing the Shuen River, it is Blue Mountain to walk a little further.
But riding a horse and swimming is obviously unrealistic.
Levi took out the workbench and made a rectangular boat on the spot. He pushed the horse on first, then sat on it, selected the direction and started paddling.
The boat was not big, just enough to accommodate one person and one horse.
The two oars kept paddling and turning under Levi's operation, driving the boat across the cloud shadows in the river, leaving waves of ripples.
The speed of rowing was not slower than riding a horse, and it didn't take long before the not-so-narrow river was crossed.
Standing on the ground again, looking into the distance, Levi knew that he was not far from his destination.
Levi opened the paper map he got from Bilbo again.
It was unknown who drew this map and when, and the specific address of Thorin Hall was not marked on it.
But it didn't matter. After Levi went there in person and opened the map, he could just mark it on the system map himself, so he didn't have to worry about not finding it in the future.
Although there was no address on the map, Levi still knew a vague direction.
It should be in the southwest direction.
Most of the time on the road was always boring and uninteresting.
It was not until the evening of the next day, looking at the peak at the end of the skyline and the light at the foot of the mountain, and stepping onto the solid and neat road, that Levi finally breathed a sigh of relief.
We are here.
