"Jia Ma Sacred City, finally here."
Stepping out of the bustling flying transport hall, Mo Yu took a deep breath of the fresh air, feeling a slight sense of awe.
With a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, he raised his head and swept his gaze over the magnificent imperial capital, nodding in admiration.
Out of all the cities Mo Yu had seen since his rebirth, in terms of grandeur and size, Jia Ma Sacred City was the most impressive.
"The imperial capital of the Jia Ma Empire, truly domineering," Mo Yu murmured in amazement.
"So, we've arrived at Jia Ma Sacred City? It's been hundreds of years, yet it hasn't changed much. Back in the day, I used to visit often, and the royal family of Jia Ma didn't dare touch me." She Lao's voice echoed in Mo Yu's mind.
Mo Yu raised his eyebrows, surprised at She Lao's past dominance, but it also showed how powerful the Snake-People Tribe had once been.
"Now that we've arrived in the capital, where to next? Are we going to find your cousin?" She Lao asked after a moment of reflection.
Rubbing his chin, Mo Yu shook his head, "No, my cousin is elusive. When the time is right, we'll meet."
"Hmm... Let's check out the auction house first. It's the largest trading center in the Jia Ma Empire. We might find something we need there. If not, we can always visit the Alchemist Association headquarters," Mo Yu said thoughtfully. "The Alchemist Grand Meeting will be held there this year, and alchemists love collecting rare herbs. Who knows, you might find something to restore your bloodline power."
She Lao nodded in agreement. "I trust your judgment."
"Heh, we've arrived at the auction house..."
At that moment, a passerby's voice reached Mo Yu's ears. He stopped walking and looked up at the massive building at the end of the street, bearing the unique emblem of the Mite-er Family. A hint of contemplation crossed his face. "So this is the headquarters of the Mite-er Family, one of the empire's three major clans. Quite impressive. Hopefully, they have what I need."
With that, Mo Yu walked slowly toward the wide stone-paved street leading to the auction house.
As he approached the enormous Mite-er Auction House, Mo Yu remained calm and composed. His handsome appearance caught the subtle glances of many beautiful young women nearby, though he paid no attention to them. Moving smoothly through the crowded street like a fish in water, he entered the auction house.
The moment he stepped inside, the noise from outside seemed to disappear as if he had entered a different world, leaving the hustle and bustle behind. Only a few meters separated the outside from the inside, yet it felt like two distinct realms.
Mo Yu stopped and looked around, his gaze sweeping over the grand hall that resembled a crystal city. A trace of surprise flickered in his eyes.
In the vast hall, guards in full armor stood everywhere, their expressions cold and indifferent. Each guard wore the emblem of the Mite-er Family on their chest, clearly marking them as the family's elite forces.
As Mo Yu entered, he keenly sensed no fewer than twenty sharp gazes sweep over his body, scrutinizing every inch of him. Only after several moments did these piercing stares gradually withdraw.
Unperturbed, Mo Yu walked toward the center of the hall.
The hall was filled with countless crystal display cases, around which people flowed in an endless stream. Inside these cases were various rare and peculiar items, each labeled with a price. However, the price for each item started at a minimum of 30,000 gold coins, an amount that would make most people stop in their tracks.
While these items were precious to ordinary people, to Mo Yu, they were merely average. As he casually browsed, his attention was suddenly drawn to a corner of the hall.
There, in an area reserved for high-ranking members of the auction house, a commotion seemed to be brewing. It appeared that someone of considerable status had just emerged from within.
Curious about the source of the disturbance, Mo Yu's eyes gleamed with a hint of amusement as he realized what was happening.
Tilting his head slightly, he peeked through the crowd, catching sight of a flash of bright red and the alluring figure of a woman.
His gaze traveled upward, and through the gaps in the crowd, he saw a stunningly beautiful face. Instantly, the smile on his lips widened, and he murmured softly to himself, "So, it's her…"
As the clear sound of footsteps approached, the beautiful woman, surrounded by the crowd, finally appeared.
Dressed in a vibrant red silk robe, the woman's exquisite curves were perfectly outlined by the luxurious garment, exuding an air of elegance and grace.
This woman radiated an irresistible allure. Her long, seductive peach-blossom eyes had a mesmerizing effect; with just one glance, she could make a man willingly hand over all his gold to buy something he didn't even need.
To many men, she was the ultimate temptation. Like a seductive cat, she toyed with their hearts.
As her enchanting eyes swept across the hall, she suddenly froze, her gaze landing on a handsome young man by a crystal counter. For a brief moment, disbelief flickered in her eyes.
As the center of attention in the hall, the woman's sudden pause caused everyone to follow her gaze. When they saw the young man's striking appearance, they were momentarily taken aback. Then, noticing the rare look of surprise on the woman's face, a surge of jealousy rose within them.
"Just some pretty boy. What's so special about him?" Many men grumbled inwardly.
Ignoring the sharp stares directed at him, Mo Yu smiled gently at the woman. His soft smile, paired with his now slightly silvered eyes, brought back memories of the past. Though he had changed, his gaze still retained the same clarity as it had three years ago.
Seeing that familiar serene smile, the woman in the red robe finally accepted the truth. The silver-eyed young man before her was indeed the Xiao Clan boy who had once captured her heart in Wu Tan City.
With the crisp sound of her footsteps, the woman slowly walked toward Mo Yu. When she finally stood before him, she realized that the boy who had once barely reached her chest could now look her directly in the eye.
"Mo Yu, it's been three years, and you've truly changed. I almost didn't recognize you," the woman said with a playful smile, her voice soft and melodious.
Looking at the handsome young man in front of her and his mysterious silver eyes, a hint of surprise flashed in her alluring gaze. Taking a deep breath, her full chest rose under the red robe, appearing round and firm, highly enticing. She slightly raised her delicate face and smiled.
"You've changed as well, Ya Fei. You've become even more enchanting," Mo Yu replied teasingly, inhaling the faint, intoxicating fragrance wafting from her.
As he spoke, memories of their tender farewell in Wu Tan City resurfaced in his mind. The beautiful woman before him was none other than Ya Fei, the chief auctioneer of the Mite-er Family's Wu Tan City branch.
"After completing my family's training, I had to return and take over some responsibilities. To be honest, I owe it all to you. You haven't returned in three years, so I never had a chance to thank you properly. Meeting you here today, I want to express my gratitude," Ya Fei said, her gaze lingering on Mo Yu's now mysterious and bewitching silver eyes. Deep within her heart, a long-buried feeling of excitement began to stir once again.
She discovered that she seemed particularly fond of those eyes. Pressing her rosy lips together, with her hands behind her back and her body slightly leaning forward, she smiled faintly at Mo Yu.
From their angle, Ya Fei's polite gesture caused her embroidered robe to dip slightly. Instantly, a glimpse of a mesmerizing curve and dazzling white skin appeared in the young man's sight.
Noticing this, Mo Yu admired the scene briefly before quickly retracting his gaze.
When Ya Fei raised her head and saw that Mo Yu's expression showed no trace of desire, a smile flashed across her exquisite face. "Mo Yu, after three years, you're still as composed as ever—far beyond your peers."
Hearing this, Mo Yu chuckled softly, then seemed to recall something. He asked the charming woman before him, "Ya Fei, have you seen my cousin, Xiao Yan?"
"Xiao Yan, the other of the Xiao Family's Twin Dragons?" Ya Fei's beautiful eyes narrowed slightly at his words.
"You came to Jia Ma Sacred City this time… Is it for Xiao Yan's agreement from three years ago?" The smile on Ya Fei's face slowly faded as she gazed at Mo Yu and asked softly.
Mo Yu smiled lightly and nodded. "I promised Xiao Yan I'd come and cheer him on. Besides, I'm also part of the Xiao family. This conflict between the Xiao family, the Nalan family, and Yun Lan Sect isn't something Xiao Yan should handle alone. I need to stand up for the Xiao family too."
Looking at his face, which had matured and become more composed over the past three years, Ya Fei sighed lightly.
"A young man standing up for the Xiao family... Do you realize that you'll be facing the Nalan family's Dou Wang patriarch or even the Yun Lan Sect's Dou Huang master?"
"As expected of the Xiao Family's Twin Dragons. You two really are the same. A few days ago, when Xiao Yan came, I tried persuading him as well, but he was just as stubborn," Ya Fei said, shaking her head.
"Mo Yu, after three years of experience, you should know how powerful the Yun Lan Sect is within the Jia Ma Empire. Even the Mo family you destroyed was nothing more than one of their dogs." Ya Fei's delicate brows furrowed slightly as she spoke in a low voice.
"I know. But so what? The Yun Lan Sect can only flaunt their strength within the Jia Ma Empire," Mo Yu replied with a calm smile.
"Uh…" Ya Fei was momentarily stunned by his indifferent expression. She shook her head helplessly and said, "You make it sound like the Yun Lan Sect is worth nothing. If they hear this, they'll surely be furious."
Although Ya Fei didn't take Mo Yu's words seriously, the Yun Lan Sect's influence was deeply ingrained in the hearts of those living in the Jia Ma Empire—far beyond ordinary powers.
However, Mo Yu's calm demeanor didn't seem like mere boasting, which piqued Ya Fei's curiosity.
Back when Mo Yu destroyed the Mo family, his reputation soared within the empire. Yet, he had disappeared from the public eye for over a year since then. What had he gone through during that time?
Though curious, Ya Fei wisely chose not to pry. She smiled lightly and asked, "Are you going to see Xiao Yan now? If nothing unexpected has happened, he's probably somewhere you wouldn't expect."
Her beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a mischievous smile.
Hearing this, Mo Yu froze for a moment, then casually remarked, "Don't tell me my cousin Xiao Yan is with the Nalan family?"
Ya Fei's lovely face froze in surprise. A flicker of shock appeared in her eyes as she asked, "How did you know?"
Mo Yu chuckled softly. "Just a wild guess… but it seems I guessed correctly."
Of course, Mo Yu wouldn't reveal his foresight ability and brushed it off lightly.
Glancing at the young man with a skeptical look, Ya Fei shook her head helplessly. "Yes, Xiao Yan is indeed with the Nalan family. As for the details..."
Ya Fei then recounted everything she knew to Mo Yu.
After listening, Mo Yu nodded slightly. The development was within his expectations. In the end, Xiao Yan had chosen to use a Heavenly Flame to help Nalan Jie remove the Searing Poison.
Although both sides benefited from the exchange, the Nalan family was still at the greatest loss.
When the Three-Year Agreement duel takes place in a few days, Nalan Jie and Nalan Yanran will likely regret losing such a prodigious talent.
Mo Yu shook his head with a smile and didn't dwell on the matter further. His gaze swept across the hall, noticing that their conversation had drawn some attention. Lowering his voice, he asked, "Are you managing this auction house now?"
"Haha, I have Xiao Yan to thank for that..." Ya Fei's face blossomed into a radiant smile. "Initially, the authority over this auction house was firmly held by the old men in my family. It was their lifeblood, so how could they let me manage it?
"I was only a supervising elder with partial authority. But when Xiao Yan came a few days ago, he brought along a Dou Huang expert.
"In order to curry favor with one of the Jia Ma Empire's top ten powerhouses, my family temporarily handed the auction house over to me."
Hearing this, Mo Yu immediately thought of Hai Bodong. It seemed that even with his interference, Xiao Yan had still managed to recruit Hai Bodong as a bodyguard—truly someone blessed with extraordinary fortune.
"I need to find something, and I'll need your help, Ya Fei. Let's find a quieter place to talk," Mo Yu said with a smile, glancing at the crowd around them, who were straining their ears to eavesdrop.
"Of course, follow me," Ya Fei replied with a playful smile, turning to lead the way.
