BTTH: The Legend Of Xiu Emperor

Chapter 2: Bloodline Awakening

Three years later.

Time passed slowly, and in the blink of an eye, three years had passed. Hun Xiu was now seven years old.

During these years, his strength had already reached the ninth level of Dou Zhi. He was only one step away from condensing Dou Cyclone and becoming a respected Dou Practitioner.

However, Hun Xiu had deliberately refrained from condensing his Dou Cyclone, not because he couldn't, but because he didn't want to.

Hun Xiu wanted to wait for the activation of his Dou Di bloodline before stepping into the realm of a Dou Practitioner.

The Day Arrives

It was the annual day when the Soul Clan activated the Dou Di bloodline for all seven-year-old children.

Early in the morning, Hun Xiu got up and dressed with the help of the maids. He made his way to the large square where dozens of children his age had already gathered.

The square was bustling with activity. Almost a hundred children were present. As part of the Soul Clan's efforts to expand, it was no surprise that the number of children in the clan continued to grow.

In the center of the square stood a simple yet ancient stone tablet. Despite having been there for countless years, the stone tablet bore no signs of age.

Next to the stone tablet stood a middle-aged man dressed in a black robe. His aura was oppressive, and his presence commanded respect. To Hun Xiu, who was only at the ninth level of fighting spirit, the man's strength seemed unfathomable.

"The bloodline activation ceremony begins now. Everyone, be quiet!"

The middle-aged man's voice rang out like a gong, silencing the entire square.

After ensuring that everyone had settled, the man continued, "I will call your names one by one. When I do, step forward and place your hand on the stone tablet. The Dou Di bloodline within you will be fully activated."

The ceremony began.

"Damn it!"

A chubby little boy was the first to be called. He hurried forward, bowed to the middle-aged man, and placed his hand on the stone tablet as instructed.

The children in the square, including Hun Xiu, focused intently on the stone tablet. They wanted to see what grade of Dou Di bloodline this boy possessed.

The Dou Di bloodline was considered the ultimate gift on the Douqi Continent. It was divided into grades one through ten. The tenth grade, also known as the divine bloodline, was the most coveted, as it held the potential to achieve god-like power.

As the boy's hand touched the stone tablet, it lit up. Soon, glowing words appeared: Eighth-Grade Bloodline.

The middle-aged man announced, "Eighth-grade bloodline."

The boy's expression was one of dissatisfaction. Although the eighth grade was impressive among other ancient races, it was considered rare but it was just a standard within the Soul Clan, whose members often possessed far stronger bloodlines.

As the boy stepped away, the aura in his body surged dramatically, and the middle-aged man declared, "Eighth-grade bloodline activated. Strength: Eight-Star Dou Practitioner."

The children gasped in amazement. While many had yet to even step into the ranks of fighters, this boy had instantly achieved an eight-star level after activating his bloodline.

Hun Xiu, observing this, couldn't help but feel envious. Years of cultivation had only brought him to the ninth level of fighting spirit, yet this boy had surpassed him in mere moments.

"Next, Hun Qiu."

Another child stepped forward. Like the first, he eagerly placed his hand on the stone tablet.

The glowing words read: Seventh-Grade Bloodline.

The middle-aged man announced, "Seventh-grade bloodline activated. Strength: Seven-Star Dou Practitioner."

Hun Qiu left the stage visibly disappointed, while the other children whispered amongst themselves.

Hun Xiu watched this unfold, contemplating his own chances. He silently hoped for a higher grade than the others.

"Next, Hun Feng."

Hun Xiu straightened his back, preparing for his turn.
