BTTH: The Legend Of Xiu Emperor

Chapter 28: Displeasure Of Hun Tian Di

The "Xun'er" in Hun Xiu's memory was undoubtedly a boy, but the person standing before him now was unmistakably a girl.

"Yes, big brother finally remembered Xun'er." Gu Xun'er nodded seriously, her delicate features glowing with sincerity.

"Wait... what?"

Hun Xiu's pupils contracted slightly, his voice filled with disbelief. "Are you really Xun'er? Why are you dressed like a girl? Are you cross-dressing?"

Even with the composure he had gained from two lifetimes of experience, Hun Xiu was visibly shaken.

A cross-dressing man? The mere thought was absurd yet strangely compelling.

Hun Xiu pondered silently. There are two types of cross-dressers. The first is laughable, a clear deception that fools no one. But the second is a master illusionist—a perfect "goddess" who leaves everyone stunned until the truth is revealed.

Which one is "Xun'er"?

As he contemplated, Gu Xun'er blinked in confusion before replying in a crisp voice, "Brother Xiu'er, you're being ridiculous. I'm a girl!"

"What?"

Hun Xiu's disbelief only deepened. Without hesitation, he approached her, lifted her up, and prepared to verify her identity personally.

"Brother Xiu'er, what are you doing?" Gu Xun'er's startled voice echoed in the grand hall.

"Ahem..."

Simultaneously, two sharp coughs interrupted Hun Xiu's actions. He froze as Hun Tian Di and Gu Yuan, two of the most powerful figures on the continent, exchanged knowing glances.

Hun Tiandi glared at his son while Gu Yuan sighed in frustration, thinking, What kind of son did Hun Tian Di raise? A reckless fool?

Hun Xiu, realizing his mistake, quickly put Gu Xun'er down. The weight of the situation sank in as he turned to face the center of the hall. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he lowered his head in shame.

---

The hall was silent except for the faint rustling of robes as Hun Xiu approached his father. He dared not look up, knowing both his father and Gu Yuan were glaring at him with expressions of displeasure.

Finally, Hun Tian Di broke the silence. His deep voice reverberated through the hall. "Hun Xiu, do you realize what you've done?"

"Father, I was wrong," Hun Xiu admitted, his voice trembling.

Hun Tian Di's sharp gaze bore into him. "Do you know who that little girl is?"

Hun Xiu hesitated, then replied, "I don't know."

"Bang!"

Hun Tian Di slammed the armrest of his throne, reducing it to splinters. A terrifying pressure filled the room, sending Hun Xiu flying like a broken kite. He hit the ground with a loud thud, coughing up blood.

"Do you not recognize Gu Xun'er, the daughter of Gu Yuan?"

Struggling to lift himself, Hun Xiu felt the weight of his father's wrath. The pressure was unbearable, and his pale face reflected his inner turmoil.

Meanwhile, Gu Yuan frowned slightly. While he appreciated Hun Tian Di's strictness, he felt the punishment was excessive.

Gu Xun'er, who had watched the entire scene unfold, turned pale when she saw Hun Xiu bleeding. "Brother Xiu'er!" she cried, her voice filled with worry.
