Chapter 41: Rest
[TL/N: Please give me some power stones!]
There was an uproar outside the courtyard, but Hun Xiu, meditating inside his room, was oblivious to the commotion. The Dou Qi of heaven and earth that he absorbed had sparked a storm of discussions and astonishment, though he remained unfazed.
Even if Hun Xiu were aware of the uproar, he wouldn't have been surprised. The level of Dou Qi he absorbed was astonishingly high—enough to cause widespread awe. This was precisely why he practiced alone in the back mountain, a secluded area he had claimed as his personal training ground. For reasons unknown, no one else dared venture there.
[Hun Tian Di: "If not for my arrangements, do you think you'd have the mountain for yourself? Why don't you kneel and thank me? I've done so much for you, you know!"]
The immense amount of Dou Qi he absorbed from heaven and earth remained a secret. Were it not for his secluded practice, the resulting disturbances during his healing sessions would have drawn unwanted attention.
Naturally, the extraordinary storm of Dou Qi attracted numerous Soul Clan youths, including Hun Feng, Hun Yu, and Hun Huan'er. Despite initially hesitating, curiosity eventually compelled them to investigate. Standing at a distance, they observed the courtyard engulfed in a storm of swirling Dou Qi.
Hun Feng, though reluctant to admit it, couldn't help but feel admiration. "Why..." he sighed, helplessly admitting, "Hun Xiu's strength is something I can't help but respect."
Hun Yu nodded in agreement, feeling a pang of despair. "If Hun Xiu is this strong, securing second place in the clan competition might be impossible for me."
The sight of such a fierce Dou Qi storm crushed Hun Yu's hopes. With Hun Xiu likely to claim first place and Hun Feng dominating second, Hun Yu resigned himself to an unrewarded third.
Hun Huan'er, meanwhile, couldn't help but sigh. "Hun Xiu remains extraordinary. He truly lives up to his name."
The three departed, each lost in their own thoughts.
Elsewhere, older members of the Soul Clan had also noticed the unusual Dou Qi activity. Though their pride prevented them from approaching Hun Xiu's courtyard, they couldn't help but comment:
"With such a divine bloodline, Hun Xiu has the potential to become a Dou Di. Within a century, he will undoubtedly stand at the pinnacle, overlooking the continent. The Hun Clan will prosper under his might."
---
As night fell, the storm of Dou Qi continued until the sky darkened, and stars shimmered above. Inside his room, Hun Xiu finally concluded his session, opened his eyes, and exhaled deeply.
"The injuries will be completely healed in three or four days," he muttered, feeling a flicker of satisfaction.
Hun Xiu stood, stretched, and stepped into the courtyard. Bathed in moonlight and starlight, he practiced a series of palm, fist, and leg techniques. Finally, he retrieved a wooden sword from his ring and performed a precise sequence of sword techniques, each move refined and devastating in potential.
Practicing fighting skills after absorbing Dou Qi had become second nature to him—a habit so ingrained that skipping it left him restless, as though possessed.
After finishing, Hun Xiu exhaled a long breath, content yet exhausted. With his training complete, he returned to his room and quickly fell asleep.
