Chapter 6: Meeting Hun Tian Di
Some were happy, while others were disappointed.
In the Soul Clan, seventh and eighth-grade bloodlines were rare. Most members had fifth or sixth-grade bloodlines, while two were known to possess tenth-grade, divine-level bloodlines.
Among the younger generation, the two individuals with divine bloodlines were Hun Feng and Hun Yu. Both were strong contenders for the position of Young Master of the Soul Clan.
After all, the Young Master of the Soul Clan must be someone exceptional, and those with divine bloodlines were natural candidates for the role.
Yet, another remarkable figure emerged from the younger generation—Hun Xiu, the second son of the clan leader, Hun Tian Di.
Hun Xiu was known for his unsociable demeanor and low-key approach to cultivation. A solitary individual, he had always focused on diligent practice and avoided unnecessary interactions with others.
This led many to believe he was a loser. After all, the younger generation of the Soul Clan was filled with prodigies, and like-minded geniuses naturally gravitated toward one another. Those who stood alone were often labeled as failures.
Hun Xiu's aloofness earned him the ridicule of his peers, who dismissed him as worthless.
But during today's bloodline activation ceremony, those who thought of themselves as geniuses were proven completely wrong.
Hun Xiu, the so-called "waste," activated his bloodline—and it wasn't just any ordinanary bloodline.
As a member of the Soul Clan, it was natural for one to have a Dou Di bloodline. But Hun Xiu didn't just awaken this ordinary heritage; he shocked everyone by unveiling the historical one of all—the super-divine eleventh-grade bloodline that never happened before.
A Stunning Revelation.
A divine bloodline signified the potential to become a Dou Di. A super-divine bloodline virtually guaranteed it.
Those who had ridiculed Hun Xiu now felt ashamed. They had mocked him, only to discover he was a prodigy far beyond their reach.
With his super-divine bloodline, Hun Xiu stood head and shoulders above the rest of the Soul Clan's younger generation, who could only boast fifth or sixth-grade bloodlines.
In other clans—such as the Shi and Ling Clans, whose Dou Di bloodlines had dwindled—those with fifth or sixth-grade bloodlines would be hailed as unparalleled geniuses. They would be groomed with the full strength of their clans.
But in the Soul Clan, such bloodlines were unremarkable.
A Quiet Departure.
After activating his bloodline, Hun Xiu quietly left the square. The bloodline activation ceremony continued, but none among the remaining participants could match his astonishing achievement.
Contemplation on the Back Mountain.
Hun Xiu made his way to the back mountain.
"Phew..."
He let out a long breath. Seven years had passed since he arrived in the Dou Qi Continent. During this time, he had lived cautiously, always fearful of an untimely death.
But now, everything had changed.
Today, he not only awakened his bloodline—securing the foundation to become a powerhouse—but also activated a mysterious system.
With the system in hand, the world was his to conquer.
Hun Xiu clenched his fists, feeling the overwhelming power of his newfound strength. He walked up to a towering tree, as thick as an adult's waist, and struck it with a single punch.
"Boom!"
The tree collapsed instantly, raising a cloud of dust.
Hun Xiu stared at the fallen tree, then at his unscathed fist, exhilarated. "This is the power of a Dou Ling! It's terrifying!"
Suddenly, a shadow lucked quietly and it revealed as Hun Tian Di.
While Hun Xiu marveled at his strength, a calm yet commanding voice interrupted him.
"As my son, are you really so impressed with knocking down a tree at the level of a Dou Ling?"
Hun Xiu turned to see Hun Tian Di, his father and the leader of the Soul Clan.
"Father," Hun Xiu said respectfully, immediately kneeling before him.
Hun Tian Di nodded, his expression calm but approving. "Stand up, Xiu'er."
"Yes, Father."
Hun Xiu stood, his head bowed. He rarely interacted with his father, who was one of the strongest individuals on the continent. Known for his unparalleled might, Hun Tian Di stood at the pinnacle of the Dou Qi Continent, rivaled only by Gu Yuan, the patriarch of the Gu Clan.
Hun Tian Di frowned at Hun Xiu's submissive posture. "Xiu'er, raise your head. Look at me."
Hun Xiu hesitated. "I... I dare not."
Hun Tian Di's voice turned cold. "You are my son, the son of Hun Tian Di. How can you lower your head? Raise it!"
"Yes, Father."
Hun Xiu lifted his head, his young face filled with determination.
Hun Tian Di smiled, pleased. "Good. This is my son. Remember, Xiu'er, you must never bow your head to anyone. Your status as my son demands it. Do you understand?"
"I understand, Father."
Hun Tian Di nodded. "You activated the super-divine bloodline today. Do you know what that means?"
Hun Xiu shook his head. "No, Father."
Hun Tian Di's eyes glimmered with pride. "It means that as long as you live, you are destined to become a Dou Di."
