Chapter 5: Blocking,meeting Xiao Xun'er

...

Xiao Yuan after a long time in the meeting, returned to his residence.Coming back,he saw Xiao Yan having Gu Xun'er explore. He saw Xiao Yan's face,it was filled with eagerness and awkwardness.Knowing,Xiao Yan would warm Xun Er's meridians,Ultimate winning her over to him,he decided not to let Xiao Yan eat the soft rice.

Gu Xun'er is the little princess of Gu clan , one of the eight ancient clan, and the daughter of Gu Yuan one of the strongest Person in the douqi continent . She was send to Xiao family in order to stole tou she ancient jade from xiao clan. Thinking of Xun'er identity as he remember Xiao Yan goes to Xun'er courtyard in the night to warm her meridian. As he destined to cut off all Xiao Yan's benefit, how can he let him eat soft rice. After breakfast, Xiao Yuan decided to go to back mountain to practice.

---

The moon shone like a silver plate in the sky, surrounded by countless stars. Xiao Yuan stepped into the backyard from the hillside. The Xiao family's backyard was reserved for high-status family members, with numerous private courtyards. Since his mother's passing, Xiao Yan had been given a small courtyard of his own, along with a maid to care for him.And after Xun'er came, she also resided here.

Xiao Yuan quickly made his way through the courtyards until he arrived at Xiao Yan's residence. Finding a hidden spot, he concealed himself, feeling slightly embarrassed. "This is frustrating. I lost track of time while training. I hope Xiao Yan hasn't come out yet."

Luckily, Xiao Yuan didn't have to wait long. Just as he arrived, the carved wooden door of Xiao Yan's courtyard creaked open, and a shadow slipped out quietly. Under the bright moonlight, Xiao Yuan, hidden in the shadows, could clearly see the figure.

"As I thought, Xiao Yan is sneaking over to Gu Xun'er's courtyard tonight," he murmured to himself. Xiao Yuan didn't intervene right away, knowing that Xiao Yan would find a way to make excuses if confronted too soon. He followed Xiao Yan discreetly until they reached another courtyard. As soon as Xiao Yan began to climb the wall, Xiao Yuan decided it was time to act.

"Who's sneaking around over there?" Xiao Yuan shouted, leaping from the darkness.

"Ah!" Xiao Yan, startled mid-climb, lost his balance and tumbled to the ground with a painful cry. The commotion stirred the courtyard's occupants, and lights flicked on inside.

Xiao Yuan approached Xiao Yan, struggling to suppress a grin. Feigning confusion, he asked, "Cousin Xiao Yan, is that you? Why are you climbing walls in the middle of the night? Surely you're not up to something bad?"

"Uh…" Xiao Yan felt a wave of relief when he recognized Xiao Yuan,He wanted to ask about the strikes, but his nerves quickly returned as he stammered, struggling to answer. He was there to test his vindictiveness against Xun'er, who had recently joined the Xiao family. Most Xiao family children either lived with their parents or in shared rooms, not private courtyards in the backyard. Xun'er was one of the few exceptions, and since she lived close to him, Xiao Yan found the arrangement convenient.

But how could he admit that? If word got out, even his father's status as the clan leader wouldn't spare him from backlash.

As Xiao Yan hesitated, a spark of defiance appeared in his eyes. "Why are you questioning me? Shouldn't I be asking why you're here in the backyard at this hour? You're not here to steal something, are you?"

Xiao Yuan chuckled, amused by Xiao Yan's quick thinking. If it were any other child, they might have been intimidated, but Xiao Yan was holding his ground. Too bad Xiao Yuan was prepared for this.

"I dozed off while training in the hills and just woke up," Xiao Yuan replied, dusting off his dirt- and sweat-streaked clothes as proof. "The backyard is closest to the hillside, so I had to pass by here to get back. What's odd is you being out here, don't you think?"

He added, with a teasing look, "Better tell me what you're up to, or I might have to call the law enforcers."

"I… I…" Xiao Yan stammered, but before he could respond, the courtyard door opened, and Gu Xun'er appeared, dressed in blue pajamas and looking visibly unwell. Her pale face and trembling body hinted at the effects of the Golden Emperor's Burning Heaven Flame.

Seeing Xiao Yan and Xiao Yuan outside her door, Gu Xun'er asked in a flat tone, "What brings my cousins here at this hour?" Xiao Yan, caught off guard by her icy gaze, fumbled for words, his face turning red. In a panic, he finally gave up and ran off.

Watching Xiao Yan dash away, Xiao Yuan let the moment pass with a sigh. Turning to Gu Xun'er, he introduced himself. "I'm Xiao Yuan. Just happened to be passing by. Since you're alone here, you should keep your door locked for safety. If there's ever trouble, call for help right away—the law enforcers are on duty at night."

When he noticed her pale face, he added, "Are you alright, Cousin Xun'er? You look unwell."

Gu Xun'er replied in a cold tone, "I just overdid my training."

As Xiao Yuan turned to leave, he saw Xun'er's body sway as if she might faint. He quickly moved to catch her before she fell. Realizing her condition was due to the residual energy from the Golden Emperor's flame, he recalled how Xiao Yan had used this to nourish his own meridians in the original story. Glancing at Xun'er, who was unconscious in his arms, an idea struck him.

"System," he thought, "can I extract the excess energy from the Golden Emperor's flame that's troubling Xun'er?"

"Ding! Yes, host, you can extract the extra energy from the Golden Emperor's flame," the system replied.

"System, extract the residual energy from Xun'er's body," Xiao Yuan instructed.

"Ding! Congratulations, host, for successfully absorbing the Golden Emperor's residual energy," echoed the system.

Xiao Yuan then gently placed Xun'er on her bed, ensuring she was comfortable before stepping back.
