...

The crashing waves relentlessly pounded the shore.

Under the cloak of a dark sky, a towering figure appeared at Tokyo Bay.

A flash of lightning briefly illuminated the bay, revealing the figure's face. Clad in rough, worn clothing, with wild, unkempt hair and bulging muscles, it was Melqart, the God-King of the Mediterranean.

"Have I arrived? The Far East! My loyal servants, find the Godslayer and let him know of Melqart's arrival!" Melqart roared, pounding his chest. His thunderous voice reverberated across Tokyo Bay.

Countless black specks appeared around Melqart. A massive swarm of locusts, their wings buzzing, materialized above the sea. Though they were merely tiny insects, their numbers were astronomical, easily in the billions. The dense swarm blanketed the water's surface like a dark fog, their countless mandibles clicking menacingly as they fixed their gaze on Tokyo.

Locusts were Melqart's servants. He was the god of storms, the god of the sea, the god of the sun, and the god of both bountiful harvests and devastating famine. Locusts, which devoured crops and laid waste to the land, were symbols of his power and wrath.

"Hmm?" Melqart suddenly looked up at the darkened sky.

The once dim sky churned, clouds swirling into a massive vortex that stretched across the Kanto region of Japan. The vortex spun relentlessly, its center radiating a terrifying pressure, like the roar of an ancient king.

Suddenly, a colossal object emerged from the vortex. It was a hand – five fingers, a palm, and a long, slender arm. Even from the sea's surface, the intricate lines on the giant hand were visible to the naked eye – the heart line, the life line, and all the other markings used in palmistry, clearly discernible.

The giant hand descended towards Melqart, an unstoppable force. Yet, its speed was unhurried, like a snail crawling compared to Melqart's own swiftness.

"That aura... it's you! Devil King! Are you trying to oppose me with this? Don't underestimate me! I am Melqart!" He roared at the heavens, preparing to summon his divine weapon and shatter the giant hand of black clouds.

But... he couldn't move. Melqart was completely paralyzed, unable to budge even a millimeter.

The giant hand loomed larger and larger in Melqart's eyes until it completely enveloped him.

Then, the hand clenched.

Crunch! The sound of shattering bones and the splash of golden blood oozed from the giant hand.

"Ah, I didn't underestimate you. But who told you to enter my domain? Sorry, but you're just too weak! Farewell, God-King of the Mediterranean." Less than five kilometers from Tokyo Bay, Haru murmured to himself.

The domain controlled by a Campione was a manifestation of their power to manipulate the energy of heaven and earth. Within this domain, anyone was essentially standing right before Haru, completely at his mercy.

...

Two days after Melqart's demise, at the Gorgoneion meeting in Italy.

The five representatives of five of the seven great magical families of Italy had just received some very unfortunate news.

Amanda, the leader of the female knights, slumped in her chair and took a deep breath. "Is the battle over?"

The knight below her, still sweating profusely, quickly replied. "According to the reports, the battle ended fifteen minutes ago. The newly ascended King, with the assistance of Ms. Zola, the witch of Sardinia, used a strange Authority and fought Salvatore to a standstill. Rome's airport is almost completely destroyed."

"So, where are the two Kings now?" Erica asked urgently. This was the first mission Haru had given her. If she messed it up, how could she face him as his knight? Damn Godou Kusanagi, I should have cut him to pieces back in Sardinia!

"Salvatore was forcibly dragged away by his butler, Mr. Andrea. And Mr. Kusanagi strongly requested that we arrange for his return to Japan, so we used a military transport plane to send him back," the knight replied, his head lowered.

Everyone groaned and rubbed their foreheads. Although they knew their locations, how could they retrieve the Gorgoneion, designated by the Unnamed King, from the Devil King? Asking a Devil King to give up an opportunity to fight a god was simply impossible.

Liliana pondered for a moment, then suggested, "Let's first confirm if the Gorgoneion is actually in that King's possession. Then, we can inform the Unnamed King directly... and try to distance ourselves from this situation as much as possible."

James scratched his head and pulled out a Nokia phone. "Sage Raffaello is the Salvatore's teacher, after all. If we ask her, we might be able to get some information from him."

Everyone nodded in agreement. Sage Raffaello's deep affection for Salvatore Doni, the Italian King of Swords, which transcended their teacher-student relationship, was well-known throughout Europe. Apart from the King of Swords himself, almost every magician in Southern Europe knew about it. It was no longer a secret.

After the call connected and they informed Sage Raffaello of the situation, the five representatives waited anxiously in the conference room for ten minutes before the phone finally rang.

James quickly answered. "Yes! Yes! We understand. Thank you very much for your help."

Seeing that the call had ended, Erica hurriedly asked, "Mr. James, what's the situation?"

"Salvatore was unconscious after the battle and has just woken up," James replied with a sigh.

"So, the Gorgoneion is in the hands of the newly ascended King? And according to the information, that King is Japanese, right?" Liliana frowned, her voice clear and melodious.

"We have to inform Haru directly!" Erica said, picking up her phone with a troubled expression.

"Hello! What is it?" Haru's voice came through the phone.

"Sorry, Haru, we lost the Gorgoneion," Erica said, getting straight to the point. When she made up her mind, she was always decisive and efficient.

The others around her paled at Erica's bluntness. If they angered the Devil King, they would all be in trouble.

"Did Athena take it?" Haru's surprised voice came from the phone.

"No, it was Godou Kusanagi. He interfered again, and now he's already on a plane back to Japan. You shouldn't have let him go back then..." Erica said, her voice laced with playful complaint.

Haru turned and glanced at Shizuka Kusanagi, who was sleeping soundly beside him. "It's fine. As long as it wasn't taken by a god. I'll handle the rest."

Seeing Haru hang up, everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.

...

Godou Kusanagi was overjoyed. Looking at the Tokyo airport in the distance, he exclaimed, "It's so good to be alive!"

He had finally returned to Japan. Thinking back on his summer trip to Sardinia, he felt tears welling up in his eyes.

He had been held at knifepoint, nearly died in an earthquake, killed a god to survive, offended a terrifying person, been kidnapped by a sorcerer, barely escaped, and then, while preparing to return home, encountered a blond lunatic at the airport who kept shouting "brother" while trying to hack him to pieces with a sword. His eventful trip had nearly driven him insane.

...

But finally, finally, he was home!

"Ah, so tired. Brother-in-law, can you give me back my stuff?"
