Chapter 11: 11
Chapter 11: Killed Them All, So I Came Out
Lin Moyu saw the owner of the branch, a tree about three meters tall.
He used Detection, a skill everyone had, to get some basic information.
[Whip Tree]
[Level: 8]
[Description: Usually dormant, attacks passing life forms.]
The skeleton warriors weren't attacked earlier because they weren't living beings and had no life aura.
But when Lin Moyu entered, the Whip Tree attacked him.
The Whip Tree continued attacking Lin Moyu.
Though it caused no damage, Lin Moyu wasn't foolish enough to just stand there. He quickly retreated tens of meters, out of the tree's attack range.
The Whip Tree, unable to move, stopped attacking once Lin Moyu retreated.
"They really put thought into this," Lin Moyu realized, understanding the dungeon designers' intentions.
From weakened low-level monsters to level 8 monsters with wilderness-equivalent strength, they chose a stationary plant monster capable of ambush.
The Whip Tree's ambush ability let new career professionals experience wilderness dangers early on.
Its immobility prevented it from chasing players, allowing them to retreat safely if in danger.
The Whip Tree's attack range matched that of several ranged careers, preventing them from exploiting advantages.
This design allowed newcomers to safely battle true level 8 monsters, fostering growth while minimizing casualties.
Lin Moyu sent a skeleton warrior to attack the Whip Tree.
The tree only reacted when attacked, its branches lashing out rapidly.
Despite the fast attacks, the skeleton warrior's high attributes (550 constitution) made it incredibly durable.
"Oh? It wasn't one-shot killed!" Lin Moyu was slightly surprised.
It took four hits to kill the Whip Tree.
[Killed Level 8 Whip Tree, Experience +160]
Lin Moyu calculated that killing level 7 monsters was more efficient (70 exp per hit vs. 40 exp per hit for level 8).
However, considering the time spent finding monsters, the dense forest of level 8 Whip Trees was ideal for leveling.
Excited, Lin Moyu sent his skeleton warriors to attack the trees.
His experience began skyrocketing again.
While others slowed down after level 5, Lin Moyu's leveling speed increased.
He reached level 6 in just 50 minutes, faster than expected.
Outside the dungeon, as evening fell, Lu Yun, the other principals, and Xia Dongyang remained, having spent the entire day there.
Suddenly, the dungeon entrance glowed brightly.
"Someone's coming out," they noticed, worried something had gone wrong.
Lin Moyu emerged from the light.
Lu Yun hurried over, "Moyu, why are you out?"
Lin Moyu softly replied, "Killed them all, so I came out."
Lu Yun was momentarily confused by this calm statement.
Then he saw Lin Moyu's level.
[Lin Moyu, Necromancer, Level 7]
