Chapter 21: Chapter 021: Wen Tingguang!

Just as the Moon Spirit Flower was within reach, a gust of wind shot from behind.

Ling Feng hurriedly dodged to the side, only to find that the Qi Force wasn't aimed at him but rather transformed into an Absorption Power that had sucked the Moon Spirit Flower away.

"Who is it?"

Ling Feng's eyelids twitched in anxiety, and he turned to see an elder dressed in a green robe, sporting a tuft of goatee, floating quietly behind him.

His attire didn't appear to belong to someone from the Wenxian Sect.

"May I ask who you are, Senior, and why did you steal my Moon Spirit Flower?"

Ling Feng frowned, his teeth clenched as he spoke.

"What do you mean, 'your' Moon Spirit Flower? Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures are first-come, first-served," the elder in the green robe narrowed his eyes with a smile, "I just didn't want to be accused of bullying the young, so I intended to compensate you with some Crystal Coins."

The elder then took out a bulging pouch directly from a Spirit Storage Ring in his hand and casually tossed it to Ling Feng, "Kid, take this. The Crystal Coins inside are enough to buy two Moon Spirit Flowers. I have some use for the flower, so I can't let you have it!"

After saying that, the elder in the green robe flung his sleeve, ready to turn around and leave.

"Senior, please wait a moment!"

Ling Feng urgently called to stop the green-robed elder. Crystal Coins were precious, but Duanmu Qingshan couldn't afford to wait.

His inner wounds had spread to his viscera, and every month of delay added a month of risk, possibly even affecting the entire treatment plan.

Even if Duanmu Qingshan wasn't his Master, seeing a Spiritual Medicine that could cure diseases slip away right before his eyes was not something Ling Feng could allow, even if it concerned just any patient.

"So, you think it's too little?"

The elder's temper was surprisingly good; he wasn't angry but merely spoke lightly, "As I said, the Moon Spirit Flower is needed for another purpose. Although there seems to be a bit of bullying the weak, I've already compensated you with Crystal Coins. What more do you want? Moo Fei, do you really think I have no temper?"

"No, of course I don't mean that, Senior," Ling Feng quickly shook his head, "But Senior, if the Moon Spirit Flower is related to the life of a relative of mine, do you think I should give up on this relative's life for a bag of Crystal Coins?"

"Well..." the elder stroked his goatee, "logically, you shouldn't."

"That's right then. Since Senior understands my predicament, you shouldn't force me into being an unloyal and unfilial person," Ling Feng returned the bag of Crystal Coins, his voice firm, "Senior, I only need the Moon Spirit Flower, even if you place mountains of gold and silver before me, my words remain the same."

"You, boy, still possess some filial piety," the elder nodded, and to Ling Feng's surprise, he actually returned the Moon Spirit Flower, pursing his lips, "Well, the effect of the Moon Spirit Flower is minimal at best, but since I find you somewhat likable, I'll return it to you."

"Thank you, Senior!" Ling Feng bowed deeply to the elder, filled with gratitude.

"No need for that," the elder twitched his lips, muttering quietly, "A wasted trip, truly bad luck!"

With those words, he turned to leave.

"Senior, please wait!" Ling Feng once again interrupted.

"Come on, have you not had enough?" the green-robed elder rolled his eyes, showing a bit of impatience.

Ling Feng waved his hand, gritting his teeth, "I have no ulterior motive, it's just that since Senior was willing to return the Moon Spirit Flower, I should repay your kindness in some way. You mentioned you also needed the Moon Spirit Flower, which I know is commonly used as an Alchemy Fogging Agent, or for suppressing internal toxins. I also know of several Spiritual Medicines that can substitute for the Moon Spirit Flower, which, with your wealth, you should be able to purchase from the traders."

"Oh?" The elder's eyelids twitched slightly, giving Ling Feng a more appreciative look, "Are you also well-versed in medicine?"

"I have some understanding," replied Ling Feng with a modest smile.

"No, no, no..." The elder fixed his gaze on Ling Feng, stroking his chin, he chuckled, "Good heavens! I hadn't expected that within this modest Wenxian Sect, there would be such a 'great person' hidden away!"

Ling Feng felt a dark wave over his forehead and a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth, "Senior flatters me!"

"I never flatter!" The elder patted Ling Feng's shoulder, grinning, "Even our... ahem, even the Daoist Doctors around our Family Head don't know of any medicine that can replace the Moon Spirit Flower's effects, yet you, lad, know of several! Your medical skills are certainly extraordinary."

Ling Feng touched his nose, "So, Senior, do you need any help with something?"

"Actually, there is indeed something you might be able to help with," the elder narrowed his eyes slightly, speaking softly, "I am Wen Tingguang, young man, what is your name?"

"Junior, Ling Feng!"

"Ling Feng, is it." Wen Tingguang stroked his beard and spoke slowly, "Lad, I have some matters to attend to right now, but in two months I will return, and I hope you can accompany me then, to treat an important individual."

"An important individual?" Ling Feng's eyelids twitched, musing that in two months Duanmu Qingshan's injury should be largely healed as well, and accompanying this elder should be harmless.

"Alright, I agree!" Ling Feng nodded in affirmation.

"Good, you have guts! You didn't even ask where I'm planning to take you, and yet you dared to agree so readily. If it were Dragon Pond and Tiger Cave, would you still accompany me?" Wen Tingguang's eyes squinted slightly, smiling faintly.

"Since I've already agreed, even if it were Dragon Pond and Tiger Cave, or a Fire Sea, I would not even frown!" Ling Feng said sternly.

"Good, very good!"

Wen Tingguang laughed out loud, "Wen here will be leaving, little guy, take care of yourself!"

After saying that, Wen Tingguang's figure flashed, like a great roc spreading its wings, soaring into the sky, after a few ascents and descents, he disappeared into the clouds, vanishing from Ling Feng's sight.

"Phew..."

Only when Wen Tingguang's figure had completely disappeared on the distant horizon did Ling Feng finally breathe a sigh of relief. It was fortunate that Wen Tingguang was not a wicked character; otherwise, with his strength, killing Ling Feng would have been as easy as turning over one's hand.

"There are indeed numerous powerful beings in this world, and the Wenxian Sect's outlook is far too limited."

Ling Feng squinted, gripping the Moon Spirit Flower in his hand without further delay, and sped off towards Little Bamboo Peak.
